Disable Export Password Button capability
Hello, We are in final stages of deployment and would like to disable any export of password capability. Either as a plain XLS or Encrypted HTML, OR sync with a phone. We would accept an "allow Export" capability by Super Admin. There is a concern the separated uncontrolled copy of resource passwords is not best security practice. We would like to eliminate this weakness. Is this possible, or should we propose it as a new feature? BTW: Great Product once we have figured out how to orient/train
WIndows Password resets
Hi, How exactly are windows users passwords changed automatically? I seem to recall RPC being used in conjunction with the administrator user being provided. Does this mean the admin user has to actually have the ability to RDP to the box or can RDP for the admin user be disabled. eg: As per security policy that may be in place. I have firewalls in place in my environment and I am having problems getting the windows passwords to change. I can adjust the FW to make it so if necessary. I should note

Access Control with users group
Hello, I'm trying to configure Acces Control on ressources, but it seems that we can only apply such access to individual user. Is it possible te configure access Control to require "request-approval-release" for groups of users instead ? Thanks
Users without email accounts
Hello, Working to set up the PMP solution in our User Acceptance Environment and have come up against an annoyance/potential issue. Many if not most of our service accounts do not have an email address associated with said account. When manually creating accounts for testing, this has been resolved by using fake address. This may be blindingly easy but not understood. How would I set up a class or template for users to populate which would never have email addresses. Am I missing something?
Problem Configuring
Hi, I need to be able to share a resource with another group in PMP but I don't want all the usernames/passwords available in the resource to be viewable in this other group. For instance the root account should not be viewable by this other group but I can't for the life of me figure out how to make it so, or if it's even possible. I've got two separate instances of Password Manager Pro and two licenses. At least, I think that the two blocks of text are the licenses. I have two questions: 1) How can I determine which one is which? 2) do they need to be saved to files with specific names in order to be uploaded to the application? Thanks. p.s. Uninstall failure Password Manager Pro
I am attempting to uninstall PMP from a server and then reinstall. This is to document the installation process as a qualified installation. The uninstall script runs and states complete. BUT, when I attempt to reinstall. I get the Uninstall query from running the ManageEngine_PMP.exe. I have removed the original folders. but still no joy. I am assuming there is a registry key artifact. What is the key to remove. Would it help to download build 6800 and attempt there? I am using 6700. Oct 2012 build.

Password Explorer Default
Is there a way to change the default link in Password Explorer to something other than "My Favourite Passwords"? It would be great if this was a setting that could be changed. I'd like it to default to "All My Passwords" when at the Home screen.

Where do I go to get updates for my existing PMP? Do you notify your customers of these updates? I also need instructions on how to update.
Problem with High availability
I have some problems with my high availability setup. In my admin page the status for high availability is not running. The status for replication is alive. When I look into the event viewer of the server I see multiple MySQL errors. Please advice what to do. Single Account - multiple resources

PMP performance
I'm trying to figure out how to tweak pmp for performance. We are using pmp with 25 users and have around 900 resources configured in pmp. It's extremely sloooow. If i search for a resource, pmp needs about 5 seconds just to show me the resource and it's passwords. I found the best practices guide which mentiones to set a key buffer and innodb buffer for MySQL. According to this best practices guide I should insert these settings into startDB.sh. Is it possible to insert those settings in a config

PMP & Change SQL Password on named instance of SQL
Hi I seem to be having a problem with PMP and the connection to an SQL Instance running on a cluster. I am wondering if somebody can shed some light on the issue. I have two Windows 2008R2 Cluster nodes running three different cluster instances of SQL 2008. All three instances have a different name and different IP address. None server based passwords
NEWBIE ALERT: I want to track application passwords - but the focus on "dns resolvable resources" seems to be driving me towards machine based accounts. There is no way for me to get access to this (Unix team won't let me see the root passwrods and service account passwords for the basic boxes). I just need to store DEV TEST & PROD application specific passwords in Password Pro I need to understand the basics here - can you help please? Graham
Major Performance Issues
PMP is currently unusable. The server process for MYSQL are running at 100% for any query and as a result the system has become unusable. I have just under 100 users in the system with just under 3500 passwords. Interestingly Super Admin querys were really fast as well, until today. Currently my system is effectively down, and am still waiting for a response to my "emergency" query from yesterday.
How can I start the Putty? (And other questions too)
1. I'm using the Windows 7 64 bit and something is wrong with my putty. I copied to \windows\system32 folder so it invokes seamlessly in command. But, whenever I invoke the putty in PMP, it does not works, not even a blink. I Used the IE and it works. Also it had to be in the windows\syswow64 folder 2. I added the MS SQL to the PMP. Can PMP generate pattern passwords?
After making a resource group and looking to remote change a bunch of passwords, are there any wildcards/variables that can be included in the new password so a password pattern can be created and changed on all the remote servers? For example. If I had two linux servers in a resource group named apache1 and apache2 when I submit a bulk password change can I include the server name in the password as a variable with other password characters added to it? So for apache1 to set that root password
Getting logged-out several times a day
Using Firefox (14.0.1 on OpenSUSE 12.1) I'm getting logged out of pmp after being inactive for a short while. Sometimes a few hours, sometimes after just a few minutes. We have set the timeout for automatically logging users out to 512 minutes (8,5 hours) so I shouldn't be logged out for a full workday. Even after completely removing and recreating a clean Firefox profile this is still happening. Is there anything we can check on why this is happening?
Resource in Resource Group not saving...

Hello, On the requirements page (http://www.manageengine.com/products/passwordmanagerpro/system-requirements.html) RHEL 5 is not listed as an supported OS, CentOS 5.5 however is (and CentOS 5 is based on RHEL 5). how to add local user accunt to PMP
When importing all of my member servers into PMP as a resource, I"m trying to add the local Admin account for these resources. I've tried using under the username field: .\username, or local_machine_name\username. Neither of them will work. What is required to add local user accounts in PMP? thanks robert..
Local administrator on domain servers
I first add a resource type “windows domain” and then add administrator user account to this domain. I import all domain servers using “Import from domain” and Schedule a daily import. Password history not available to password users
On our installation of PMPro 6600, when a regular password user clicks on the password history icon, an error message is displayed: "An error when processing the request..." and no history pop-up is displayed. Displaying password history works for password administrators. I've confirmed this behavior with multiple accounts and different browsers.
