PMP & Change SQL Password on named instance of SQL
Hi
I seem to be having a problem with PMP and the connection to an SQL Instance running on a cluster. I am wondering if somebody can shed some light on the issue.
I have two Windows 2008R2 Cluster nodes running three different cluster instances of SQL 2008. All three instances have a different name and different IP address.
When I use SQL Management Studio I am connecting to \\CLUSTER-RESOURCE-NAME\INSTANCE-NAME. The cluster resource is an installation of SQL on it's own. During the installation the instance was named.
I cannot connect simply to the IP or the HOSTNAME of the Cluster Resource. Port 1433 is simply not running here. It is running on \\HOSTNAME\INSTANCE-NAME.
How do I work this into the PMP resource configuration??? Adding the Instance Name behind the hostname does not seem to work.
