How to add a label to devices
My apologies for the noob question, but I have a list of devices (either in inventory icon view or the list view), and I can't figure out how to display these devices (in this case, workstations) with other label attributes (such as location, or having a relevant name rather than the computer name. Can someone please explain to me how to do this? Thanks, Adam
Config Backup
I recently downloaded and setup opManager 12 free edition on a windows server 2012 VM i have running. Really the biggest issues i'm having is that the config backup does not work and i can't find anywhere that shows you how to make it work. I downloaded the newest NCM plugin but apparently the 12 install i have already has an older version and i'm not sure if that's the issue or if i am missing something in my config. Any help would be great, i really like this so far, the config backup is just impossible
URGENT: Opmanager not working anymore!
HELP!! We experienced an outage of a site which caused the startserver.log of Netflow to grow & grow until we ran out of disk space this weekend. I was not able to delete this file with all services running. OpManager v12.1 Popup Window stays on screen
When clicking on a switch port, the popup window stay displayed, even when switching screens until the browser refresh key is pressed.
OpManager V12.1 Errors with Business View Builder
Multiple errors, The small window for uploading a file overlays other parts making it impossible to setup a link. Clicking on Save, results in an error that says the API is for internal use only.
OpManager v12.1 Device Status
Status page shows device in Trouble Status. Interface in Status page shows Trouble. Clicking on Interface to go to the details page, shows no problems. OpManager v11.6 shows no errors either. Also, we just upgraded this router with a different model and had to do a re-discover 3 times before it would pick up the new information.
DFS replication backlog script
Hi All, This is a script I have hacked together to report on the DFS replication backlog numbers. A couple of things to note: The opmanager service needs to be running as an administrator and not local service account or you will get access denied. The script is configured to only show values greater than zero. Command to run the script is cscript ${FileName}.vbs ${DeviceName} As DFS replication normally always has some backlog I would not set the alerting values too low Thanks and hope you enjoy
REST API get all URL Monitors for a device
Hi, in OpManager 11, with api/json/device/getGraphNames I'm able to see the associated performance monitors, but I can't find anywhere a function to list all URLs Monitors associated to the device. There's a getAllUrlMonitorDetails but only returns the site-wide URL monitors, not the device-associated ones. Being the dirty hacker I am, I found out that the web interface uses an undocumented api/json/device/getDeviceAssociatedMonitors, but it's restricted by a session cookie (useless in a script).
SMS Heartbeat message
Hi, Opmanager 11600 with MSSQL DB, Nokia modem on serial COM port Is it possible to automate the sending of an SMS heartbeat message once a day/week from OpManager? Our SMS modem stopped working which we didn't know about so no SMS's were sent when we had an issue so we would like to know the SMS modem is working without having to physically login and manually sending an SMS. Save OpManager base image
Hello, I have one OpManager instance running on one server. I want to save it as a base image for other OpManager installations. The image would contain the rules, custom templates, custom scripts , rebranding,and users which are defined on the first OpManager. (No devices) If not how can I transfer the rules, custom templates, custom scripts , rebranding and users from one instance to another by running a script? Can't use Opmanager after switching to API Client
Switched to API client, now I can't use Opmanager, it shows the following message: Your current license does not allow to monitor UCS devices.You can either remove the UCS devices you do not want to monitor here, or procure a new license.Remaining devices will be deleted But the list of "Available Devices" or "Devices to be removed" it's empty. What should I do to recover from this?

OpMan v12 UI feedack
Hey guys Regarding the new and improved OpMan v12 UI: Firstly, it's pretty cool and much easier on the eye, except one small issue I have. There's a huge empty space the right of the probe interface that can be used to see more of the application - is there any reason it was designed this way? OpMan v11 made use of the entire screen whereas v12 doesn't. Is there a setting I can change in the config to change these dimensions? Or would that be something you guys need to change on your end and release
Notification profiles increased
We have had approx. 20 notification profiles handling all alerts for OpManager. Today, when removing a user who is no longer here, my profiles increased to approx. 200. It appears that each device now has a unique notification profile just for that device. Anyone else have this happen?
Custom SNMP monitor tests OK but no graph data
I defined a custom snmp oid monitor, when I click test values are returned but even after waiting overnight no graph data is present. Running on windows server 2008r2 with PostgreSQL. I did import a MIB bundle file that was provided by the vendor (multiple MIBS in one file), could there be an issue with that, or something else? Thank you for any suggestions. I checked nmserr and stderr logs but didn't see anything with frequency of every 2 minutes that is set on the monitors. I do see some errors

Disassociate Event log rules to several devices
Using the "Associate Event log rules to several devices" from the quick configuration wizard I was able to add event log rules to multiple devices, now I'd like to remove these. I'm unable to find a bulk method to do this. Any ideas? Thanks, Chris.

Memory Monitor Not Working shows 120% util
Hello, My OpManger has a couple hundred machines being monitored and out of no where 3 machines showed a crazy spike in memory util, however when I check these machines via SSH they look fine. Can anyone explain why this would happen? Thank you.
Unable to fetch values from ServiceDesk Plus
I am testing OpManager and Service Desk Pro and followed the instruction below to integrate OpManger with Service Desk Plus, without error (i.e. Successfully tested and added the ServiceDesk Plus server details) http://help.opmanager.com/intregate_sdp-2 Opmanager (v 12100 (64 Bit)) ServiceDesk Plus (v9.2 Build 9227) However, when I added a new notification profile (i.e. click Log a Ticket under Add New), "Unable to fetch values from ServiceDesk Plus" is shown. Finding a device in SPM V12.1
How do I find which switch a device is connected to in v12.1? In 11.6 I would click on SPM, enter the IP address and click search. It would display a list of devices that matched the search and what switch they were attached to. In v12.1, when I do a search, I can only link to the device page for the device I am searching for. Clicking on IPAM & then SPM from the main dashboard provides no way of searching for the device.

OpManager Editions
Hi, could you please clarify the differences between the OpManager editions? One difference I see is that only the Plus edition seems to have the firewall add-on (???), another one is that in Plus for the NFA, NCM, Firewall and IPAM add-ons no "free licenses" are stated. I'd appreciate if someone from ManageEngine answers ASAP, as we are in the process of renewing/extending our existing license and have to decide which edition to choose. TIA GWeiss
Remote disable all monitoring from a specific server
Is it inconceivable that in future it will be possible that a technician can disable all monitoring in a predefined period directly from the monitored server, so that he can perform maintenance without informing the person that controls OpManager?
Adding notification profile automatically by moving or adding into a group

Hi all, Running into a bit of an issue here, probably me just being new to Opmanager but I cant work this out at all. I understand the device templates, so that when you add a device it picks up what it is automatically and places it under that template and applies whatever monitors and thresholds are set in that template. i.e - Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012 R2 etc etc My issue is, I have 100s of servers I want to monitor with different requirements. Server monitors not showing data
Hello, On opmanager some servers show the CPU/Memory/Disk utilization fine but on other servers using the exact same template nothing shows up unless you click on the window. I've tried making a custom template, removing the monitors and re-adding them as well as changing to a different template as well. Nothing has worked. REST API unable to delete a single graph
Hi, according to http://help.opmanager.com/rest_api-v12 I can use getGraphNames to obtain a list of graph associated to the device. I have to write a script to automatically delete a graph when it matches a certain condition - the issue is that the REST APIs will let me delete a whole performance monitor but not a single graph (the one identified with a pollId). OpManager 12100 creates a wrong dashboard graph
Another day, another issue. Summary: I found that if I create a graph through the dashboard the displayed values are correct, but plotted incorrectly. Description: See the graph 1 created through the "Last N hours". Except for the ugly, not-editable scale it should be fine, right? Nope. OpManager Devices have lost viWebService Data
OpManager VMWare virtual devices have lost their connection\data to the VIWebService. Short of deleting and re-adding 100+ servers, is there a way to get them to pick up this data again? Doing a Rediscover removes all this monitoring.
Time Window
I know how to setup time window to set the hours. Can I also set the days? Our operating hours are M-F 6am-7pm and currently I am manually removing the weekends.. Can this be done? Thanks
