Why doesn't my disk properties and the opmanager disk utilization match on the same drives. Am I missing something? thanks
OpManager stops collecting history randomly
Twice now within the same ten day period, opmanager has just stopped collecting history, but remains otherwise available. So we have no idea that is has done this until I actually logon to do something and notice that no server is showing any WMI information. Sometimes this will be several days before I notice. We rely on this tool to do uptime reports for 500 servers. We cannot have three day holes like this. Last time this happened, it stayed up for 2.5 days and then stopped collecting data again.

Hi, I�m new with this software and I'm evaluating it to buy the Proffesional Edition. I need an online display that show the events and I wasnt able to do that by the moment. I need to monitor different devices on very big display and if any of the diveces got and alarm or event (such as network disconnection) it get red on that display. What I already done is to configure one server, and connect and disconnect it to the LAN. It refresh it state only when I click on servers under maps. I'm sure that
Device Type not found on Discovery
I have been informed that my XP workstations need to have SNMP services running for OPmanager to asign an OS type to them. I dont belive it I am afraid Why? Because my service desk software can tell me all about my workstations via a network scan, right down to the model of the pc etc etc.. Why can't OP manager do this?? I really see no need for the Discovery to be dependant on SNMP for Device type Assignment. I am NOT about to enable or install SNMP on all my XP workstations.

Shortcuts - Mapmaker
Hi, Having created maps with links/shortcuts to other maps, I am getting a rather annoying problem. The links are changing colour and registering a map as having a problem (ie yellow or orange) when all devices are clear. It is just the shortcuts that are not green. I cannot seem to find a reason for this and recreating them does not always work. It happens after a divice has gone down, but when clear, the link doesnt go back to green. Create network map & import into Visio
We are trialing Opmanger and love the product so far. Was wondering if its possible to create network maps with Opmanager. It seems all the data is in there, especially with port mapping working. Is there a way in OpManager, or another tool we can get, that automatically creates nice network maps with the data from OpManager. Also would like to export this data into Visio.
Spy URL used on the LAN

extraction error on install
during installation i get an extraction error at 99% "unpacking failed". i extracted the installer, ran this setup and get this failure. unable to change Device type
License Type : Free Edition Company Name : AdventNet Development Build Number : 6010 Expires on : Never When i try to change Device type i get e new widows with just Error! written in. I also noticed that password are lost (fields are empty). Furthermore thus the discovered type look correct (router cisco 2600) i cannoth find in password the same field list as another Cisco Router.

Hi, I am having problems loading the MFAgent-Mib file in the mib browser. I get the following error Error loading MIB: /servlets/../mibs/mfagent-mib com.advent.snmp.mibs.MibException: Could not parse the file /servlets/../mibs/mfagent-mib The 'INDEX' or 'AUGMENTS' keyword was missing in the table row object type construct which contains the sequence as OSListEntry I have tried another mib with the same problem. I have attached the mib please let me know if get the same error. Any ideas would be appreciated.
SNMP Disk monitoring Graphs
Hi, I use the same SNMP disk monitoring for monitoring disk in Windows 2003 Server, but some servers use different graph to display stats. With the image - 2, I see only one graph with all disks and at the bottom, I see a historic of all poll. Some server use the graph displayed in the image - 1. How I can change theses servers to display graphs identically to the image - 2 ? Thanks, Steve

Network utilizatio, bandwidth, traffic etc..
Hi Guys, I was wondering if there is any sort of tool built into Opmanager that will analyse and report the status of the netwrok, as in the bandwidth usage, and any bottle necks. Basically something that will tell us when the network is slow, and if there are any problems.
Web on another port than 80
I know you can change the web port for all devices-but is there a way to change it for individual devices? Say I run http on port 8080 (without of course creating a new custom service) or does everyone just create a Web8080 Custom Service? My goal here is not to have a ton of collums of 'web'
OpManager 6 How to discover attached networks
How can we discover attached networks to a router? I want to discover the WAN IP, LAN IP and attached LAN network IPs. Is there a way to specify multiple hops in the discovery process? If a customer has the same LAN numbering scheme, is that an issue? I do not want to add the discovery for the LAN block separately. I am looking for OpManager to offer a sub-network view for all WAN networks that shows all devices on the LAN.
Exchange Store Used Disk Size N/A
Hi All of my Exchange Monitors work except the Used Size of the Public and Private stores. When configuring the path for these stores I used E:\exch_store\MDBDATA\priv1.edb and E:\exch_store\MDBDATA\pub1.edb Is this the correct syntax to enter?
Exchange Monitor Shows N/A
I am checking out the exchange monitor for my 3 exchange servers but they all show N/A for all the services they are monitoring for exchange. Is their something I need to enable on the exchange server?
Changing Monitoring Interval
I am trying to change monitoring interval as well as disable monitoring of devices ie Printers, Desktops. But when I go to Admin > Monitoring Intervals and unselect endable desktops -> select save it will revert back to the current settings. Is there any other way to disable monitoring and discovery of certain devices types
checkpoint monitor problem

OpManager 6.0 Won't Stay Loaded Linux
After initializing OpMan as follows: cd /opt/AdventNet/ME/OpManager/bin/ ./StartOpManagerServer.sh & and then pressing Ctrl-C to exit the operation and leave OpMan in the background, it most of the time won't stay running. As soon as the shell is closed OpMan closes. If I do it enough times it will stay running. Solution? Fedora FC 1
Monitoring Router during Office hours
I want to monitor number of routers which are connected to my other offices. These offices are working between 1000 to 1800 hrs. Can you tell me how to check availability of this routers during office hours only and not on 24 hours basis. Op manager monitors them for 24 hrs basis and shows more downtime.

On one of our servers (a Fujitsu with Xeon Proc) and W2k installed, there is something strange ... After discovering the server, it adds a Interface tx traffic monitor by default (among others). When i test this monitor it gives an error. But when i enter the OID from this monitor in the MIB Browser i get a result (multiple actually) When i delete the monitor and add a traffic monitor Interface tx traffic it keeps asking me for SNMP settings (which are correct). It doesnt ask me on what interface

Monitor Percentage Changes.
Sometimes firm changes aren't good enough - we need percentage changes. For example, a drive could drop from 1.5 TB to 500 GB over a 1 yr. period and this would be entirely normal. But what wouldn't be reflected would be if a 1.5 TB drive dropped to 650 TB in 2 hrs. This would indicate a severe problem that I am not aware of any way that AdventNet's OpManager currently handles. Switch Port Mapper to High Latency Site
I am running switch port mapper from the US to Singapore. The process eventually disconnects despite having the correct SNMP and IP information. I imagine it's the latency between the two sites that is causing the issue, as it is 250 milliseconds. Any tweaks or tuning that can be done?

I was wondering why OpManager doesn't seem to identify some of our servers correctly. as i tried to delete, re-discover the device, re-discover the network for the OpManager to be able to detect the device as SNMP enable but i have no luck. still, it discovered as desktop. huuh!! our OpManager version is V6.0 build #6003 although, i can get the disk, memory, cpu utilization of those servers by using the WMI, but my boss wanted to monitor it using SNMP protocol as our standard. plus

Traffic Monitor - Interface problem
Hi, I would like to monitor the interfaces on Windows Server 2003. In the device, the nic is correcly discovered but all counters are marked NA. The interface index is 65539 and 65540 (Dell PowerEdge server with Broadcom). When browsing the devise SNMP MIB I get the following: enterprises.9.3.......... enterprises.9.9.......... but no 9.5................. for BackplaneUtilization Any ideas on how to monitor the backplane on this device? Automatic Monitor Addition.
It would be nice if devices would automatically add alarms if so instructed when new devices are added. For example, servers with DAS (direct-attach storage). Its hard to remember to add an additional monitor everytime you add a drive - especially if it is a 24/7 operation where work must be done at off-peak hours. David.
Multiple Alarms for Same Monitor.
It would be nice if we were able to establish multiple alarms for the same monitor. For example, if I have a 300 GB drive I'd like to receive an email say every 50 GB it goes down. But then when it reaches 25 GB I want a text message - b/c I wouldn't normally let it get down that far. Right now it seems the only thing one can do is reset this manually at each step, which is a lot of work. David.
