SQL .ldf file growing out of control
We use OpManager build 7100 which monitors about 80 devices. In a one month time period, the SQL database (running on SQL Server 2005) .ldf file has grown to over 8GB in size. The .mdf file is a manageable 220mb, but the .ldf file is out of control already. Does anyone know what causes this, and more importantly what I can do about it? I can't imagine that this is normal behavior for a SQL database.

Trap Processor Enterprise OID Field
I have several devices which can send linkdown traps, but each one send with different varbinds. I've created different traps rules (Admin->Snmp Trap Processor) and tried to associate each rule with the correct trap matching the enterprise oid field. But this doesn't work, all notifications fall in the default linkdown rule. Any idea? Regards Andres

Set monitor threshold to "not equal" to 3
I want to monitor the storage/RAID status on my Dell PowerEdge servers. I have found the appropriate OIDs, but I would like to be notified when the status is anything other than 3. Is that possible? Notif for alarm raised out of time window never send
Hi! One new question. For the time window of notification profiles, what should happen when alarms come out of this window? I would expect that notification emails be stored and forwarded when the notification is "enabled" again (i.e, when the time window is started again). But I've seen that such notifications are silently dropped, so they are never send. Is there any plan to change this behavior in next releases? Is there any workaround? Thanks. Regards, Andres
Set up URL Monitor to retry before alerting
The URL monitor in OpManager is sending too many alerts for URLs that are slow to respond. We have some URLs that will occasionally time out, but then come right back up. Our old monitoring system worked like this: 1. Poll URL every 5 minutes. 2. If URL seems down, poll 5 more times at 15 second intervals. 3. If the URL fails to come up 5 times, THEN alert the sysadmin. Can OpManager do this? If not it's value is greatly decreased in my humble opinion. False alerts are extremely annoying to the on-call
Increase Time out SSH
Hi, How can I increase the ssh time out? I would to do this because I have an error "Login Parameter incorrectRead timed out" whereas the login/password are corrects when I did a credential test. I know it is possible this SNMP. Thanks

easy way for creating different notification time criteria
Hello, I created an notification profile "UPS_SMS" for sending SMS by modem. If a specific event happens, I only want to get an SMS - Mo-Fr 17:00 to 05:00 - Sa/Su 0:00 to 24:00 How can I configure this? When I associate the Mo-Fr timescale to an device and after that I associate the Sa/Su timescale to the same device only the second, the Sa/So timescale is associated to the device. How can I configure both without using to different profiles. Many thanks for answers
Notification Profile not working (Please Help)
Hi All, I am new to OPmanager and I have a task at hand. OpManager notification used to work fine until recently. OpManager stopped sending alert e-mails. I double checked the smtp server setting and they are configured correctly. I was able to send test emails successfully. I also tried a telnet test from the OpManager server to the SMTP server, and this also works fine. Can anyone please advise with this? Thanks
Reporting on Event log events
Hello, I'm a newbie to OpManager7, I think I'm missing something basic. I've got a nubmer of Windows Servers for which I've configured Event Log rules and would like to get cumulative report for all those servers (think logon events on domain controllers for example), but when I go to Custom Report I only get the option of selecting a single machine. Grateful for any pointers, the helpfile doesn't seem to be of much help in this instance, or maybe I'm just not seeing wood for the trees. Thanks, R.

i am running opmanager 7010 and am trying to add a number of devices, but i get an error that the device is already present. when i search for the device, nothing is found. i followed the steps in solution 1808, but received an error that it was unable to create db connection. the opmanager db is running on another sql server and is sql 2005 sp2. please advise how to resolve this issue. thanks. Service account for OpManager services?
Right now my OpManager services are running as Local System. Is there any way to change this to run as a domain service account? For example, I'd like to make a domain account called SvcOpManager, then set the Manageengine OpManager services to run as that account. Is it as simple as that, or are there any hooks within the application that will have issues with that?

"Urgent" Unable to start OPmanager
The SQL server was rebooted yesterday without OPmanager server being shutdown, and since then OPmanager has no been able to start. I tried starting the service manually, but that didn't work either. Any help will be appreciated.
Availability, distribution and Top N displays blank
For some reason the displays on the web client for the Availability, distribution and Top N are blank with a little X in the upper left corner. recently updated to 7.1.sp3, have tried a sp un/reinstall and reboot and restarting services etc... to no avail any idea?
Missed polls
Assuming there's no way to do this and I just haven't found it yet, would it be possible to get the missed device poll alert settings changed from a dropdown allowing you to choose from 1, 3, and 5 missed polls to either a dropdown with more options or a text box where you can input an integer value to alert on?
Sending notification via sms only once time
Can i manage OPmanager so it's only send through sms notification once time when there is alarm occured (not every five-minutes)and once time sending when the alarm is cleared. and if yes how to configure it thx, Eka Pratania
Service monitors not sending e-mail alarms
Hi, I'm using Opmanager MSP v6005, great prodcut, there's only one problem. The opmanager doesn't send e-mail alerts if a "Service monitor" is down. It only send mails if it is a "Windows Service Monitor" but that's not what i want. The notification profile for the devices are correctly configured (see attachment). Hi All, I wanted to monitor a windows service of a Vmware Virtual Machine. I have completed this task for quick a few physical windows machines which all work fine. However, I don't seem to get any SNMP information from the system nor can it access the windows services on the virtualised server. I doesn't detect the OS or anything. Counter showing accumulated value
There are some performance monitors in a router in my network that shows a constant value (say 393219.0 for example). After reading documentation and looking at opmanager database, I found that these are counters never cleared, and the nms should show the incremented value between consecutive polls. How can I tell opmanager to show incremental rather than accumulated values? The monitors are the standard "Big Buffer Hits", "Big Buffer Misses", "Buffer Create Failures", "Buffer Failures", etc. Thanks
mysql slow, not getting fully backed up.
my mysql folder is about 5GB.. maybe too big, too much data.. but I know lots of people use mysql heavier. seems to take 12+ hours to back up, maybe not even successfully. have run repairdb. not sure what else to do but migrate to MSSQL. we have production MSSQl over 600GB and only takes 1:30 - 2:30 to back up. any suggestions anyone?

Grouping of network monitored devices
Can i create a group for devices i want to monitor. e.g. we have wireless APs per building and I would like to group each building so I can see at a glance if there is an issue. Or should I use another method within the program to monitor a group of devices? thanks

Problem with Even Log Rules
Hi, We have some problem when we add a new event log rule. For example Event Id 8. We have made a rule like this: Rule name: 8 Clear Sys Even it: 8 Event type error, warning, information (is it wrong to check all this?) If incoming event matched criteria, alert with severity clear (or should we use Or, ignore event?) We have added this rule to all of our servers, but the OpM still alert us when this event occurs.

Unable to Scan IP ranges
I am trying to seach a range of IP address's for my network. Whenever I put in the starting number of 172.16.0.1 or above it sets the ending range to the same in the third octet, ie 172.16.0.xxx and won't let me increase it, no matter what subnet I use, I want to use 255.255.0.0 and I need to search the full range of the 172.16.xxx.xxx address range. Any direction on how to get this to scan the full range of my network instead of a single segment would be appreciated.

I was wondering if it would be possible to have the home page automatically refresh itself? of it it does, is there a way to config how quickly it does? Or to have a page that just displays network stats. for example, we want to have a screen in our NOC that displays the status of the network / servers. it would be great if we had a self refreshing page that we could place on the screen.
Exchange Service Monitor using "public" community
It seems that OpManager is using the community string "public" for the Exchange Service Monitor, regardless of what the setting of "passwords" is on the device. I had a custom community string set and OpManager was constantly listing the Exchange Service as being down. When I changed the community string to "public" it now works.
