Monitor APC Switched Rack PDU
I have an APC Switched Rack PDU that I want to monitor current load and a few other alarms. How can I do that? OpManager recognizes it as a UPS but it is not one. It is a remote controllable powerstrip. Thanks.

In previous versions of OpManager, it seems there was a method to set the utilization threshold for an interface. Is this still an option in build 8006?

Problems with SDp on same server
Hi, We have some problems. We are running SDP 7506, we recently installed opmanager 8006 on the same server. We were unable to get opmanager to work, after troubleshooting we changed the ports and now it is working. When we have both op manager and SDP open in ie7 in seperate tabs op manager; *every time we click on a link in op manager ie. to look at a business view we need to log back in *when clicking on the dashboard link it shows nothing If we close the SDP tab op manager works correctly again
Instance name not used in widget

Business views and maps need overhaul!
Hoping others will add to this, as some posts were added to the snap shot page sticky and was off topic. I think the maps and business views are in need of a major overhaul! Besides the ability to edit in the web view instead of on the server itself, there hasnt been any changes to the maps since it was implemented. Im my opinion (and my coworkers) the edit view looks better than the map itself. the opmanager team added google maps, which some of you obviously like, but since I am in charge of watching
Templates and sysOID
Hi Is it possible to configure more than 1 template for a given sysOID? This would be helpful because I have Win 2k3 server machines with different purposes and I would like to create a template with different monitors and thresholds for each of the different uses. Example; one server is used for process control and I want to monitor disks and cpu usage agressively. On a second server, I have a SQL database that needs different monitoring. On a third, I have a less critical system with less monitoring.
Interface History
I'm only checking out the demo version of OpManager 8, but I have a quesion about History - in this case Interface history. Is there a way of storing more detailed history? If I pull up a WAN interface that I'm monitoring, I see traffic for today. I can click on the little magnifying glass to pull up specific info and change the report options. Detailed history is good for today and yesterday, but if I put in a date/time range for 3 plus days ago for only a 6 hour period, it shows an averaged hourly
horrible trap receiver performance
Hi, We are experiencing horrible performance of the trap receiver in OpManager. After only a few days of operation the time from a trap is sent from a device until it is displayed in OpManager is several hours. This behavior has been observed both using 7102 and 8005. Is there something we can do to speed up the trap receiver? As it is working now it is of no use for detecting problems in our network. Best regards Terje N.
How to delete alert/reset poll status OpManager, details plz
I am needing to develop a work around to the scenario where OpManager notification profiles are only executed on an initial alert and not a repeat on the next and following polls. VOIP eating away revenue?
VOIP is good and I make heavy use of it and save a lot on my national/international calls. I believe that VOIP only benefit consumer and is indirectly eating business of all telecom carrier thereby dent telecom business. Do we see Telecom providers (wireless/wireline) still thrive as did in late 90s and early 2000 while VOIP is penetrating and choking most of the networks.
OpUtils 5.6 AD Question
I can't find too much documentation on how AD integration functions with OpUtils. How does it check whether or not a device is in AD? What credentials does the account require to check the domain controller? I configured OpUtils to check AD but I have some devices on a subnet that show as in AD and others that don't. I can see no difference between the devices that show up and the devices that don't.
SSL/CLI Doesnt Seem To Work?
I am running that latest/newest OM 8 in a mixed environment of mostly Linux servers and some Windows servers. I can ssh as root from a shell on the host running OM, to any other monitored server. However, if I use the same root credentials for an ssh connection test in OM, it always fails? Any suggestions?

Unable to add devices
Hello guys, I wonder if anyone of have faced this issue earlier... I have recently bought a license of OpManager 8.0 Premium for 300 clients. When i try to add a single device, it says the device added successfully. But when i search for the device, i find nothing. When I discover the entire range of my network, it displays most of the machines as Unknown devices. It also displays some Servers in the list, but it doesn't add any of the servers to the database. It just adds the unknown devices. I
Deleted Device but still says Device exists when readding
I added a device at 192.168.1.240. I then deleted it. Later I needed to add it again. When I do it tells me that the device already exists. The device is not found if you do a search for device. The device does not show up on the map either. Any ideas how to remove it from the database so I can add it again?

Total bytes Transfered in accurate opmaanger 8
HI I have noticed that the Total bytes Transferred is inaccurate. It is only showing about 1 % of what is actually going through the interface. Please see attached. Is their a setting that needs to be changed? Thanks

Switch Port Mapper Works in Oputils 5, but not in OpManager
When we purchased OpManager, it was with the understanding that it comes with switch port mapping capabilities. Having contacted support previously, we were told that although OpManager does not support mapping of 3Com switches now, it will in the future. We have now moved to OpManager 8 and are still unable to map switch ports. We've also tried the switch port mapping in OpUtils 5 which maps the ports without issue (please refer to the screenshots included). When can we expect this feature to function?

Hi, Is there an Oracle monitor in opmanager? IT says so on your homepage - do you refer to the windows service or what? I cannot find any other. New in handling OPManager
Hi to All, Its my first time using OPManager and i badly need your help. So here it goes... Device templates were already configured for the different kind of servers (Windows, Unix, Linux), so all i need to do is go to Admin menu then click Add Device menu and input the ip address. Upon viewing the added device there are nothing to be monitored which should not be the case since there were already templates created. What should I do/check? Can you also send me other sites where I can learn more
TCP Service Monitor Default Timeout
What is the default timeout for TCP Service monitors before OpManager determines that a Service is down ? I'm not referring to the Threshold Alert Response time that can be set in the "Edit Monitor" dialog, but rather the time OpManager will wait for the tcp connection to setup before it marks the tcp service as down (assuming the user did not setup a Threshold Alert). thanks, Greg
IE 8 support
I'm having considerable issues getting OpManager to work with IE 8. I can't get past the logon screen, it just sits there spinning whereas with IE 7.. works no problem. I enter the userid and password, hit "Login".. and nothing happens.
IP address and device name
Hello Everyone, My problem is i dont how to detect the device names automatically, because some of my devices are discover as IP Address and some are by their Device names. I dont know how to detect them by names automatically. I have my snmp enabled and rediscover them, but still the same. Please help me with this problem.
Monitoring Field in Device Configuration
Hi all, recently i configure OpManager for monitoring some device on my network. One of this is a router. I desire that OpManager test the connection with the router every 5 minutes. This is simple, but ... i'm not able to fix the Monitor field in the device configuration at 5 minutes. I have another device (same like this) and in the other i'm able to fix the Monitor time at 5 minutes. I try delete the device and reconfigure another time, but is like when i reconfigure the same device parameters
Netflow Plug-in and MS-SQL
Have just upgraded to OpManager 8 (plus hotfix 8005) and first impressions are pretty good. I'm interested in getting the Netflow Plug-In but the FAQ says this is not currently supported with an MS-SQL database. Can you advise when MS-SQL support will be added? APC InfraStruXure Manager!
Hi there, I just started using OpManager to monitor our datacenter and specifically to monitor the environmental values. We are using APC's InfraStruXure Manager (IM) and I want to configure OpManager as a trap receiver for the IM so that I can start a local program when receiving an alert. I don't have a clue yet how to configure OpManager as a trap receiver. I already discovered the IM, but don't know how to associate performance monitors with this specific device. SQL monitor logins/sec seems incorrect
We are using a windows 2003 server with MSSQL 2005. We enabled the MSSQL monitor's in opmanager. The number of logins/sec is very high. If we compare it with perfmon it seems a miscalculation is made in opmanager. We tested with a raw polling tool to get the data from the wmi Win32_PerfRawData_MSSQLSERVER_SQLServerGeneralStatistics and we got high numbers. So there must by a formula in perfmon that converts it to a normal value. Or is perfmon wrong? And if so what units is the Win32_PerfRawData_MSSQLSERVER_SQLServerGeneralStatistics

Hotfix 8005 released
Hi All, We are very happy to announce the release of the first hotfix for OpManager 8 - Build: 8005. One point which I would mention about the upgrade is the availability of Real time performance graph to all upgraded users, which was earlier available only to users who make a direct installation of OpManager. Availablility Monitor in snapshot view shows down
I recently upgraded to Ver 8. After the upgrade I have several devices (most are fine) that show the availablility monitor as down (all red in pie chart) even though the device is active and responding. All other values are reported normal. I have attempted to 'unmanage' and 'manage' the device again as well as 'Rediscover device' and 'update status'. None worked. I expect a value in the SQL DB has become stuck during the upgrade. Can someone tell me the value to reset in the DB to get the status
