BUG: & sign in Interface description
I have a router Interface that I named "AT&T Transit". Everything seems to work fine until I try and add a Widget to a Dashboard with a "Traffic for N hours" graph. When I click on the pencil and select the device, the drop-down says "--Interfaces not available". If I then rename "AT&T Transit" to "ATT Transit" and do the exact same operation, the interfaces are populated in the drop-down box correctly.
Notification List
I was asked to get a list of who and how users get notified on which devices Unfortunately, there is no quick report for this. I had to do this manually. Is there anyone else out there that would like this feature. I think it would be beneficial is you have many users/devices, and if you need to change a user's notifications to someone else it would make it a lot easier. .
SNMP-Traps are not receiving on OpManager for W2K3 server
Hello Experts, We are using OpManger 7 for Network monitoring. We are having the problem receiving SNMP traps such power failure, Network cable removed etc... in OpManager. OpManager is configured and devices are succefully added and we are able to get the performance monitor data. But SNMP traps generated on Dell PE servers are not seen on the OpManager. We are able to view the SNMP traps generated using MIB browser. Can any one tell us what might be the cause for this issue? Thanks in advance for
Error parsing MIB:DHCP-MIB.mib
Hello OpManager users and support team, I try to upload the DHCP MIB from but it fails. The error is: Error parsing MIB:DHCP-MIB.mib Exception while loading MIB:Could not parse the file D:/PROGRA~1/ADVENT~1/ME/OPMANA~1/./mibs/DHCP-MIB.mib The error occured at the line no: 103 ,column: 15. For the table and row OBJECT-TYPE construct the ACCESS value should be 'not-accessible'. Business View Restrictions
When I set up a new user and restrict that user to a specific business view, the user can still view and access links that I believe they should not be able to see. Specifically, in the upper right corner of the page, they can view: - About link, which shows them our license details, etc - Register link, which allows them to upload a new license key (!) How can I remove these links for non-administrator users?
Netscreen Firewalls no traffic NA
HI after testing Opmanager 8 I have come across a problem where we cant get traffic stats from netscreen firewalls. The traffic stats come up as NA (please see attached jpg) I have removed the devices and re added (even used the remove DB script) to no avail Also in the nmsout log i get the following 08:40:33:481 POLL: pd is null for InterfaceInOctets x.x.x.x .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10*8/$DELTA_TIME Thanks
Xanto UPS Devices
Hello is it possible to see Data of Xanto UPS Devices in OpManager. We bought a SNMP Adapter for each Device, but I can't see the UPS Load or the UPS Status. We are using Xanto RT 3000 with batterie packs and Xanto RT 1000 devices. Thanks for your help.
Can OpManager send the trap to other manager?
We need to send the trap received from device by OpManager to other manager(say: WebNMS), can OpManager do it? How to do it? :?:
MIB Browser - Ability to select existing device / credential
It would be VERY handy if in the MIB Browser in OM8 you could select an existing device and/or SNMP credential. Right now, both must be added in manually.
Automatic discovery not working?
Hi Team, automatic discovery doesn't seem to work. This was the case with opManager 7.xx - and it still is with opManager 8. question about notifications and time periods
Hello, I would like to have notifications turned off between 8pm and 6am, however i need to be notified at 6am if a alarm that occurred during this period has not cleared. Is this possible? I would think this would be standard behavior, but it doesn't seem to be working. I have ver 7200. Thanks
User Manager not editable
We have the most current version of OpManager 7 (7010) When you create a new user you have the ability to specify the PERMISSIONS and the ACCESS for that user as shown in the 1st attachment "new-user.jpg" Once you have created the user and you go to edit/modify their access/permissions you cannot as those sections have disappeared !! (see attachments modify-user.jpg) This is VERY inconvenient to say the least. I have to delete a user and recreate them every time I add a new business view in order

Cannot see exchange and sql counters
Hi, Last week I built a new OpManager server from scratch, as we were having weekly issues with the previous server. After adding my devices back in, my Exchange and SQL machines are not deploying the additional counter and monitors that are available for those products. We used to have these working on the old server. I have tried re-discovering the servers but still no joy. The product is registered.... Can't figure this one out. Any help would be appreciated. unmanage several interfaces at a time
Hi all, I'd like to know if there is a way to unmanage several switch's interfaces at a time, because I can only unmanage them one by one, and it can be very bothersome when you have many switches. I know I can delete them but I'd like to just set them to unmanaged. Also, can we edit reports of Switch Port Mapper? Regards. Fred
Adding Device successfully -> then not found
Hi, I've added "successfully" a specific device by name _and_ by ip-address. Used Removedbentries.bat, restarted opManager, added again - still searching for the device by name or ip-address gives "Device not found"... Any ideas? TIA Goetz

Random Stops of Apache Service
We have updated to OpManager 8005 on a Windows 2003 server and are now having problems with random stops of our Apache/2.0.47 (Win32) mod_jk/1.2.5 server. This seems to occur when there are significant demands for web-services on our OpManager server. Is there any one else having this problem? Your insights are appreciated.

SPM: not able to resolve IP and DNS Name in other subnet
Hi there, I'am evaluating OpUtils Build 5046. The SPM tool works great for the subnet were the machine stands. But for other subnets I am not able to resolve the mac addresses (IP->DNS & DNS->IP works!). Mainly we use Cisco switches, the SPM tool is able to show shows the mac address of about 2/3 of the switche's ports. the rest is only showed as up. I Have added the dns/dhcp server (windows server 2008) of each subnet and checked there ARP tables, all was fine. Thanks in advance Malte :)

Supress NOTIFICATIONS during certain time period
Hi, I'm curious if it is possible to suppress NOTIFICATIONS only for a device (or group of devices) based on the time? -- a "quiet time" For example: We have some devices whose operation is not critical and we do not want to be alerted after 10pm -- however, we would like to continue to monitor and record data from the monitors after 10pm so that we can have insight into any problems that occurred over night and can have good availability statistics for them. I know I can schedule a Maintenance/Downtime

Question about notifications
Hi, I have a query about notifications, I have added a profile to mail server to send an email to service desk (as the integration doesn't seem to want to work) when thresholds on disk space have been reached so I select the thresholds and ticked the box but I get notifications when 'any' threshold has been reached? ANy ideas why?
manually add device?
Is there a way to manually add a device without it being discovered? I have a server behind a firewall that will not allow snmp or wmi, but will allow me to monitor certain tcp ports.
OpManager and PMP Integration
Integration request: Please provide integration between OM8 and PMP where: - In OM8, when you select a device, there would be a login/password field available that would link you into PMP for that corresponding device This seems like such an obvious need, but yet there is no integration available yet.

In OM8, I have the following criteria for a threshold: > < = It would be nice to also have a != (not equal to) criteria, as sometimes you don't care what the value is (> or < or =), you just care that it has *changed* off the normal value.
