Supress NOTIFICATIONS during certain time period
Hi, I'm curious if it is possible to suppress NOTIFICATIONS only for a device (or group of devices) based on the time? -- a "quiet time" For example: We have some devices whose operation is not critical and we do not want to be alerted after 10pm -- however, we would like to continue to monitor and record data from the monitors after 10pm so that we can have insight into any problems that occurred over night and can have good availability statistics for them. Question about notifications
Hi, I have a query about notifications, I have added a profile to mail server to send an email to service desk (as the integration doesn't seem to want to work) when thresholds on disk space have been reached so I select the thresholds and ticked the box but I get notifications when 'any' threshold has been reached? ANy ideas why?
manually add device?
Is there a way to manually add a device without it being discovered? I have a server behind a firewall that will not allow snmp or wmi, but will allow me to monitor certain tcp ports.
OpManager and PMP Integration
Integration request: Please provide integration between OM8 and PMP where: - In OM8, when you select a device, there would be a login/password field available that would link you into PMP for that corresponding device This seems like such an obvious need, but yet there is no integration available yet.
Threshold value - "not" equal to
In OM8, I have the following criteria for a threshold: > < = It would be nice to also have a != (not equal to) criteria, as sometimes you don't care what the value is (> or < or =), you just care that it has *changed* off the normal value.
Possible Bug in V8 with ESX Servers
Hi, In V7 we could "see" our ESX Servers in terms of them being just a server , we did not have all the VMWare features , but we could get up/down alerts etc. now in V8 we cannot see them at all, they exist in a catagory called ESX Servers but when I click on them I get the following message Vmware Monitoring Add On Feature is not licensed. We are not wanting the additional features all we want to do is see the ESX so that that we can get up/down alerts for it. I hope this makes sense Regards Scott.
to many authentication traps
Hi all, I am currently configurating opmanager on our network and I have an issue with authentication traps, which I enabled on the devices yesterday. It started today AM and opmanager has now received over 80000 authentication traps from 9 devices. Each one send several traps per minute. the trap is always the same: No Trap Parser defined for received trap: Enterprise: .1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.1.3.1.2 Generic Type: 4 Specific Type: 0 Variable Bindings: this is what I get on the report. CCTV - Cannot View Business View

Redundant Monitoring Server and Failover documentation
Can anyone point me to some documentation on setting up an Opmanager backup server that will kick in when the primary one fails. I noticed that the new version supports failover but I couldn't find any documentation about setting it up. THanks

Monitoring Nested Business Views
I would like to monitor devices in a nested business view, i.e. set an alert profile for an "All Offices" business view which includes the individual office business views which really contain the devices. So far, I'm unable to do so because applying the profile to the top level business view does not associate it with the underlying devices. Is this possible? Is there an alternate method?
Daylight Savings now has OpManager showing wrong times
Ever since the Daylight Savings time change, OpManager (we have both 7 and 8 doing the same thing) is giving us Windows event alerts one hour after it has happened. In other words, if the error in the Event Viewer shows an error at 3:00pm, one hour later, OpManager will have it under Alarms, not a few minutes after like it was doing previously. We thought we could resolve with the OpManager update (tzupdater.jar and tzupdater.zip) for this issue. We've tried it multiple times on both Op 7 and 8,
Upgrade to OM 8 is HUNG/BUSTED!!
I was running OM 7200 on CentOS 5.2. I was about to post an issue with not being able to add devices and getting an error about the device/ip existing, WHICH IT DOES NOT. So I ran the database repair and the "RemoveDBEntries.sh script on the 2 mysterious IP's multiple times. This is absurd, it says they were removed, but when trying to add the device, OM says they still exist. What kind of junk is this?? Anyway, so I tried to apply the upgrade to 8 and followed the instructions to the letter. So

Getting frequent disconnects from MSSQL server backend
Since upgrading to OpManager 8. Have been receiving frequent disconnects. "Connection to the Database is lost. Trying to reconnect to the Database Please Wait ..." As this is happening so frequently, OpManager is almost unusable. Any help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi - I have added HP PRoCurve Switches with SNMP strings and all monitoring works fine. However CLI fails, but I can telnet using windows command prompt. How can I get CLI wokring on OpManager?
Performence of the DB, Opmanager 8
Hi Adventnet. My question is about beeing able to tweek the performence a bit if the server allows it. I have seen in the Admin-> database settings. That you don't recommend to set the detailed statictis to more than 15 days or it will impact performence. But is there a diffrence if you use either MSSQL, MYSQL and how the servers hardware specfication is. I have a 2x Dual core with 2,4 ghz Xeon cpu and 4 gb ram. Raid 1 on 146 gb 15k SAS disks. So it can perform very nice. Would it be possible to
ServiceDesk Integration fails
I'm running OpManager build 8002 and ServiceDesk 7505. When entering the information into OpManager's Add-on Products section, the test is successful. However, the information is not being saved. Continued attempts to reenter the information yield the same result. I'm unable to lookup asset information from within OpManager.
How can I ONLY display a bussiness view?

Reporting Discrepancies - 7205
I am attaching a couple of device reports that were run for the same period, same time window and mostly same devices (later report only had additional devices) but reported different metrics. "Critical devices..." was run today and "copy of..." was run the 1st of this month. So my question is how can there be discrepancies?! Thanks. ALSO - Another thing I just noticed is that when I check Opmanager for the running version it shows 7205 but when I look in the update manager it shows the latest installed

Debugging custom SNMP monitor
I am re-doing the device template for our Powerware UPS, as it does not work with our model (PW9315). I have all of the correct OIDs mapped out, and I can use the MIB browser to query each value and get the correct result. However, when I add these exact same OIDs to the device template, they do not work. For instance: .1.3.6.1.4.1.534.1.4.1 (shows the UPS load) This one returns the correct value from the MIB browser, but refuses to work from the added device when doing a "Test Monitor" -- it just
Missing some local drive utilization stats
We've had an issue that's been affecting a few of our Windows 2k3 servers for a while now. It wasn't a major issue, so I was hoping the upgrade from 7 to 8 might resolve the issue, but we upgraded a few days ago and the problem is still present. We have 4 particular servers with normal C:\ drives for the OS and a rather large E:\ for data. On 1 of the 4 servers, we can see drive utilization for both the C: and E: drives. On the other 3, we only see the C: statistics. I have tried removing and re-adding

Sending reports to Excel, PDF or Email shows wrong data
Hi Support, After upgrading to Opmanger 8, when i go to Reports and run Device Availability report, it shows me the correct information, but when i try export that information to Excel, pdf or email, it sends me the incorrect data. For example, i ran a custom device availability report for the first week of feb 09, then when trying to send it to excel or pdf instead of sending me the custom data it sent me the default data of the past 24 hours which it shows automatically when first initially clicking
Juniper M7i Device Template
Does anyone have a *working* Juniper M7i device template for OpManager 8? The out-of-the-box template does not work at all -- the OID appears to be wrong, and I get all sorts of errors such as: Data not collected for JuniperTemperature:There is no such object in this MIB. Data not collected for JuniperMemoryutilization:There is no such object in this MIB. We are running JunOS 8.4.x. Also, I can't seem to figure out where it is pulling these specific monitors -- that is, I don't see a "Juniper MIB"
Windows vista Interactive service detection dialogue
Every time I open and log on to windows a screen pops up comes for interactive service detection dialogue. I click to show the message and then it will open to install some language [different each time] as I don't want those I click cancel, and the dialogue shows as no more attention required. See attached file. But every few minutes its poing up and may be different langaugae. This is happening for last 2-3 wks. I even tried to restore system to an old date. We have Cisco 6509 which is "default gateway" for a lot of VLANs, so it is a ROUTER for VLANs, but it also has lots of ports which is used as simple l2-SWITCH. On the "network view" all the VLANs of this switch are separate. Is there any way to "say" to OpManager, that all this VLANs are interconnected? Is there any way to set multiple IPs for ONE device?
Opmanager Device icons set to default in "switch"
Hi I have different icons defined in the device template for a given device. If I add the device to the "switch" category a default icon is displayed. If i create a new category and import from the "switch" category the correct icon is displayed. Import them back to the switch category the default is displayed. Can the default "switch" category be modified to ensure the device template icon is displayed? regards Noel

No Values in Log a ticket
Hello I've got a problem with the notification profile. After the successful connection test between Opmanager and Servicedesk+ I want to create/change the ticket logging. But in the existing profile (Service-Desk-Ticketing) it's not possible to change the values. I also checked the mail-server settings, created new user accounts in OM and SD+ (admin/admin), checked in SD+ the technicians, categories and priorities for umlauts and so on and so on. Is there anybody out there who can help me with this
Disk Thresholds dissappeared !!!
Just a heads up for everyone. When i upgraded to Opmanager 8, i happened to come across a problem, on all my monitored servers, in the performance monitors my Free Disk Space monitor for my drives, i had previously set threshold limit's so that if my disk space goes to low, i get alerted, well all these limits dissapered, and i had to go into every server and reset the limit's for every disk. But the performance monitor still said that the threshold was normal as if it had been set. Worthwhile checking
