Error on replicated OpManager Windows Server
Hi. I'm trying to get my OpManager service separated from other services (which is my normal routine). For a while, I've had my OpManager running on a server which also has other things runnign on it. So, I replicated the Windows server on which I am running OpManager so that I could have it on a server of its own. Of course, I renamed the Windows server, gave it a new SID and IP and did everything else necessary for it to be a completely separate server. I then shut down the service on the original

Hello! I've set up OpManager 8(8022 Free Edition) on my Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop yesterday, and leave computer running to test... But I think I've a problem with SNMP in OpManager (or my linux, why not :) ) no disk utilisation, no cpu and memory used, etc... Adding event log rules into templates
I'm pretty new to OpManager and I can see where I can set indivual devices to alert on certain event logs, but can not see how to add it to a template. As we want to be able to monitor for a certain event id's across the 100 odd windows 2003 servers we currently have already using the windows 2003 template. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Cannot connect monitors to the snapshot dial graphs for new device template
Hi, I am using OpManager 8.22 that I am currently customizing by adding templates for our own HW. I have been reading the forum now for several days to try to enable the CPU utilization graph for this custom devices. This is what I have done so far: 1. Created new category - RLSgroup 2. Created a new device template - SatLink RLS-85XX - inserted in the RLSgroup category 3. Added monitors to the SatLink RLS-85XX device template. Verified that the monitors are working correctly. Hello. We have noticed that our .err file in the mysql\data folder is growing quite large. At the moment it is over 1GB in size. Is there a way to reduce or remove this file? We also have a lot of relay.bin.00xxx file. Can i stop the server from producing these files?

How is memory utilisation calculated?
I have a Windows 2003 server with a registered usage of 91%, but pulling up the process list from OpManager shows processes using only 6% of the available memory. Is OpManager including file cache in its overall count, or is it counting total memory for the percentage different from how it calculates per process usage? The current warning I am seeing for example: Memory Utilization is 87%, threshold value for this monitor is 80%: Top 3 Processes:-sqlservr.exe - 3%;Mcshield.exe - 2%;FrameworkService.exe
File size monitoring
I know I've seen it discussed in the past and it's been stated that it's an upcoming feature, but do you have any updates on the file size monitoring capabilities for OpManager? I have a situation in which it would be very useful to be able to trend a log file size. Obviously its easy enough to do via other means, but it would be nice if OpManager was able to do it.
Updating custom device templates directly in the database

opmanager ee build 7104 upgrade to build 7500 probe error
probes are not automatically updating like the instructions say they will and they have not connected in over 4 hrs. bandwidth is not an issue because the probe and central server are on the same subnet in the same building.
Using the Blackberry Enterprise Server MIBs with Opmanager
Has anyone got the blackberry enterprise mibs working with Opmanager. only the compact one that comes with the BES works but i want info that the Full MIB will supply e.g. last time the device checked in battery level etc.
Windows (Dos) script for nightly backup giving error
My Opmanager install is to the G drive on my windows server. When I run the following commands, the BackupDB_Mysql -destination command results in ".\setEnv.bat is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. SQL Cache Memory Alarm
Hi, I am trying to work out the correct thresholds for the alarms for our DB servers. One alarm that has been occuring on a couple servers lately is the SQL Cache Memory, it appears to have a default setting of 2048 KB. I am trying to find out more information on this counter and have found out that SQL Cache Memory is responsible for reserving memory for dynamic SQL statements, I havent been able to find out anything on recommended levels, how to modify the levels or how SQL Server sets this level.
Installation Problem 500 error
I am looking forward to trying out OpManager, but I cant seem to get past this problem. i have a Windows 2003 server, up to date with all the service packs etc. I install Opmanager, and it seems to install correctly, when I try to run the web client, I am told that port 8080 is in use and my new port is 8060... fine ... Report Differences
We currently am using OpManager to produce disk utilization reports for several of our servers but we have noticed a few discrepancies from report to report. I have a Top 25 Utilization report and I also run a Disk Space Available report. For one of our servers, the Utilization report shows 86% used space on the C: drive, while the Disk Space Available report is showing 90%. Why would it reporting two different numbers for the same drive?
Modifying the Content of a widget
Is it possible to modify the content of a Widget on the Dashboard e.g. it has three columns Name, Status, Type if you could edit so it only displayed Name, Status this would save space and allow more info on the screen
Allow dashboard columns to be less than 100%
Hi, when I choose 3 columns on my widget dashboard, the columns go way off the screen because it's too wide. For some reason the dashboard does not size itself to fit in the current browser window. I tried to set the columns to something like 20%, 20%, 20%, but I get an error that it must be a total of 100%. Any way we can dynamically resize the columns, so they can fit in smaller browser windows?

I would like to monitor Active Directory on my Exchange server, but it is not a domain controller. How do I enable the Active Directory monitoring for this server without classifying it as a DC?
monitor a scheduled task
Wondering what I need to do to setup OpManager to monitor a scheduled task on a server to assure that it has run without errors. Have searched and haven't seen anything about whether or not this is even possible.
net mask 255.255.255.255
When I add new device in OpManager by device name/IP address why I cannot choose Netmask to be all 255(255.255.255.255). The last mask that I can chose is 255.255.255.252. But, if I have loopback interface with netmask all 255 and want to add device by that address it is not possible because netmask 255.255.255.255 not exists in netmask list.

Hi, I have created some custom device types for our own hardware that is SNMP capable. Is it possible to customize the device snapshot page to display status information from SNMP query? Hi , Many time my OpManager web console responds very slow , it mostly happens when I click to fetch some report from opManager . Moreover , My sqlservr.exe is consuming 1.657 GB of Memory & java.exe is consuming 1.078 GB of memory . still I am having 83% memory utilization & 17% free.

All servers on the domain detected as desktops
We are currently re-evauating OP manager 8022, and when we scan a domain it finds devices, but it would not detect them as windows/linux/esx servers. The devices are detected as desktop, and the template is set to be server.. We scan ESX, linux and windows and are showing up under MAPS>Desktops. So the OS is detected properly for windows , but the category is wrong. For ESX its not detecting them, so we have to switch then manually. sucks...
Monitoring ifInErrors/ifOutErrors on switchports
I want to query the ifInErrors and ifOutErrors on the switchports of my switch, so I can get a quick overview of where errors are being generated so I can detect it at a glance, because in my network, it most often indicates duplex mismatches. So the OID I want to query for this particular device is: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.14.x ifInErrors 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.20.x ifOutErrors Where x denotes the interface number. OpManager & WMI Faillures
Hi, We have a number of servers where WMI consitently fails the credentials test. Most recently with a Windows Server 2008 box, but we have seen it happen to a few Server 2003 boxes as well. We have several other servers that do not fail this WMI check so a bit at a loss as they are all configured in the same manor. Any thoughts or ideas?

Frustration...
Hi, OpManager is a fantastic product...when it works. For some reason, today i can't monitor AD or Exchange. Most of the AD monitors report N/A and when i test the monitor, it tells me it isn't responding. This has happened a few times now and i usually have to stop and start the services on the OpManager server. As i said, OpManager is good but it's annoying when it just stops monitoring. Nothing has changed on our servers so it must be down to OpManager. Can anybody advice please?? Matt H
