Monitor Windows Services - Notify when its started
Hi All, This is an opposite of usual monitoring, is it possible to monitor a disabled services from starting? E.g, Telnet service that included in windows server should not be started. List View Page Size
When viewing customer equipment in "List View" there is an option for Page size, where the default is 100. When this is changed to a page size that allows all of the customer equipment to show on a single page the display is fine. If you drill down to the customer device, the "List View" reverts back to the default page size, which is 100. How can we get this to remain at the chosen page size until the end user is ready to change it back to 100? Is there a way to change the default size for all users
Vendor Field - Hardware/Software?
Hi, The Vendor field in snapshot page - does it reflect to server hardware vendor? or OS vendor? Those my windows servers display the field as "Microsoft". Hi, I would like to know whether OpManager to support in managing Cluster Server. Now i have added 2 physical server and 1 virtual host server into OpManager. For this, do i need 3 device license? As all of us aware, some of services / application will run based on the virtual host which managed by the cluster. Invalid username/password when query device for custom eventlog
Hi, Im getting "invalid username/password" error when query device for custom eventlog. From the log file (stderr), its stated as below. 80070005 - Access is denied: While getting WMI data from <servername> for SELECT Version FROM Win32_OperatingSystem From the device snapshot page, i verify the credential are correct and i have no problem retrieve data for performance monitoring. Hello, I am looking into the OpManager product for both SNMP Polling and Netflow collection. I have a question about discovery and polling. I have seen CPU spikes on network devices that may have been caused by an SNMP poll or discovery. Is there any way to limit what is polled or discovered by OpManager both manually and automatically? File Monitor -> Last modification
Hi, we use a special backup, that exports data every day in one specified file. We tried to use the OpManager file monitor to check the success of our backup, but the problem is, that the file monitor only checks the date, when the file was created. What we need is to check the date, when the file was modified. Is there any possibility to handle this? Thanks, Dennis
Unable to add Monitor OID with index value
I am trying to add a monitor to a device template. The MIB for the monitor in question references an index value. There are multiple sensors of the same type, in this case temperature sensors for an APC UPS. To get data for a specific sensor, I need to reference the index value of the probe in the OID. How do I change the SNMP OID value for the monitor to add an index? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Memory Leak
I have build 8052 and it appears to have a memory leak which happens about every 3 days of continous running. I restart the service for OpManager and my problem goes away for another few days. I need to get this resolved.
Canon MIB's
Two things. Firstly i am looking for the MIB's to monitor a Canon Image Runner. We have a number of iR3025, iRC4080, iRC5185 and would like to be able to monitor them. also while playing around in getting the current ones to work i created a Device Template called imageRunner but it has a vendor of 3com. how to i either + Remove the Device Template + Change the Vendor to one i want to create called Canon. Font changes per row in list
Currently in several table columns in OpUtils our font changes between rows. For example, under Network Monitor, for the Status and Last Update Time columns (not limited to these, though) the font changes from a serif font to a sans-serif/round font on every other line. How can I make the font consistent in all rows of all tables universally in the program?
Cluster monitoring
I need to monitor our file-print cluster with OpManager, mainly for disk usage, CPU, memory etc. Is there an "easy" way to do this? At the moment I've set up the each node of the cluster as an individual server, and set each one up to monitor the resources that are currently hosted by that node. But every time a shared resource moves to a different node, I have to go in and manually change all the alerts to point at the right nodes. Fibre Cards
I have a few servers with Fibre Cards in them connected to Fibre switches and then to a SAN. I would like to monitor the data flow between the servers through the switches to the array but, I can't seem to pick up the fibre cards in the server. Any thoughts on what I need to address?

Dear All, i just want to share our idea about wish feature...think it benefit for u Trend Line Reports+++ this wish feature can provide the trendline on the graph base on the history data. eg. cpu, memory, disk space, etc. It allow us to specify the period we want to forward to. eg. 3 or 6 months. This is so benefit for us to make the capacity planning... :P
Sorting Question
We are using OpManager ver. 8052. and a user in our operations group brought this to my attention. We have created an infrastructure view that lists all of our customer premise routers. The issue is that when we make the attempt to Sort By Severity, the expected result is not achieved. What I mean is that when used, that function would list all of the CPE gear that were not responding at the top of the list. Now the list is being sorted but not in that way. Please let me know if this is a known issue
WMI is failed for server/desktop that not join in domain.
Hi OpManager Team, I have 1 server using Windows 2003 that is not joining domain and also 1 desktop using WinXP also not joining domain that i would like to add in OpManager. When i select test the credential the WMI and SNMP is said passed but when i want to use performance monitors for WMI it was failed. Others server that joining domain don't have this issues. We want to use opmanager for monitoring dell hardware. Now the `chassis status ` oid has several status options : .1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.200.10.1.2.1,1=other|2=unknown|3=ok|4=noncritical|5=critical|6=nonrecoverable How can we get opmanager to recognize these status when using it as monitor ? I created a template but I found that the Juniper CPU and Memory OIDs are not leaf but they have sub-OIDs one for each chassis instance: fan, power supply, Routing Engine, Forwarding Engine and so on. Obviously the CPU is applicable only for the RE or FE not for a fan or a powr supply! This is the same for the memory. Getting stats for specific time periods in a scheduled report
Is there any way to specify a timeframe such as 8:00-8:00 in a scheduled report? I can create (and save) a report with an 8:00-8:00 time frame however when I set it up to be scheduled the time frame is over-written with 24 hours as the time frame (because that is the only choice for a scheduled report). I would like to schedule a report that contains the memory stats from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Does anyone know how to do this? I know it can be done manually but I cannot find a way to do when creating
Unable to add MIB for APC UPS
We are trying to configure OpManager to manage an APC UPS and to report environment variables. I have downloaded the latest MIB from APC, but after loading it, I can't access the MIB in OpManager. Hi I'm trying to configure a report for a business view. The Business view consists of 4 servers and one switch. I want to be able to check the availability for this Business view from 7 AM till 5 PM Saturday till Wednesday. How can I do this please? Incorrect service monitoring
Hi, we are currently running evaluation period and we discovers few problems. For each server, OpManager by default discovers few services like POP or WEB and starts to monitor them as soon devices are added if they are present. The problem is that OpManager shows that every single server in our network has active and working well the POP, WEB and few other services on different ports. Which is not truth which is confirmed by checking those machines with Nmap. Andy idea what's the problem? Thanks,

Traffic report on two interfaces of Cisco switch
I am currently able to see real time traffic across two interfaces set up as a backbone to another switch however I would like to see a report of the total traffic on these two interfaces over a period of time. Has anyone figure that out with OpManager?
