File Size Monitor stating file does not exist
I am relatively new to OpManager, so please bear with me. I am attempting to monitor the size of the security log file for our servers. I ensured the WMI credentials were correct and that the path was correct, but upon testing the monitor I am told that the file does not exist. Please let me know if there is any more information I can provide in order for you to assist me further. Thanks in advance!
Exchange Server 2010 monitoring problem
Hi, Our customer is trying eval version OpManager 9200, we have trouble about finding Exchange servers/SQL servers We have 4 Exchange Servers 2010 and 8 SQL servers need to be monitoring, but after discover procedure, these devices was looked like generic servers (see attachment). Is there any method to tell OpManager which servers are Exchange Servers/SQL Servers, or this is a limitation of eval version? Do you have a list for me to tell the difference between eval version and licensed version.
Installed 3rd Party SSL and cannot access OpManager
Yesterday, I installed Entrust Certificates. I changed the port number to 443. Now I cannot access OpManager via the url using either port 443 or 9090. Notifications are no longer being sent either. I need to get this fixed asap! Thanks for any support.
SNMP Devices Showing as Non-SNMP in Report
We have some Linux and one Windows server in Taiwan that are showing up on the Inventory report as Non-SNMP devices, however they are SNMP enabled and we are getting traps from them. Any reason why they might still be showing up on the non-SNMP devices report?
F5 BigIP/LTM/GTM monitoring Support
Hi, Can anyone advise if they have managed to get F5 BigIP/LTM load balancers monitored under OPManager, if they have a template that they can share or better still have Opmanager support got any plans to create a default template for these devices. There seems to quiet alot of support them using Cacti, nagios etc but very little if no mention in OpManager. Cheers.
VMWare HA cluster with DRS
Hi, Have a HA cluster running. Use DRS to power off hosts for power saving. But everytime DRS powers off an ESX host in the cluster, OPManager keeps generating alerts until the host is powered on again. On the vCenter server the host is being displayed as in standby mode. Is there any way to have OPManager recognize that the host was powered off by DRS?
Domain controller as VM
I've upgraded to v9.2 of opamanger and we're STILL experiencing the issue of AD on a VM. When will this issue be resolved? We're quickly virtualizing our environment and need to sperate the DC monitoring from the VM monitoring is not what is expected. Thank you.
Display Name and DNS Name don't match
I'm still trying to get this to sync up. I had an issue where the Display Name would not update if an IP address of a device changed on a box so I switched so it would search by display name and the IP address could change for each device but it's all a little kludgy. There ought to be a way to get both a) the IP address of a DNS name to update when that IP changes on a particular machine and b) the DNS name to change the display name if a particular host is renamed. I run into problems with both
License question
Hi, Our customer is evaluating OpManger, User is going to purchasing essential license for 100 device, But I found the following message: This copy of add-on is to monitor 5 virtual hosts, the remaining 4 hosts will not be monitored using this add-on. Please contact support@opmanager.com to purchase an upgrade. Is this the restrict for evaluation only ? If there are total 10 hosts with 60 VMs. How much device license will it spend? Thanks.

I have an issue with opmanager rounding values i am grabbing rPDU total load which needs to be divided by 10 to put in amps but opmanager drops the decimal value. 28/10 =2.8(.1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.12.2.3.1.1.2.1)/10 =2 i need this fixed asap Thanks, Stephen

Uptime alarm?
Hello, been browsing the forum for a while and i couldn't find what i was looking for so here it goes: We would like to monitor the uptime and make it warn if a server haven't been rebooted after lets say 180 days. I've tried to set this up with a normal threashold and a notifcation profile but the sysuptime answers in second which leaves me with a long number of digits. And if i write in the calculated amount of time to try to make it warn after some time it doesn't alarm anyway. Any ideas on how
Change Router Health Graphs
Hello, Is it possible to change the graphs lists under the "Router Health - Today" tab? Is it also possible to add more tabs? Maybe a tab for Bandwidth, IP Pool count, etc. I found the opmanager_snapshotinfo.xml file. Is there an easier way to update or change this file? It would be nice if the tab was able to be custom created.
Min Monitoring Interval time
I'm using Opmanager 9. Is there a patch or other method that allows the monitoring interval for URL monitors to be less than 1 minute? I need finer resolution than 60 seconds in order to properly track a web service performance issue. Thanks, Frank
Monitoring MSSQL Instance
Hi, I have given my best and i couldn't figure out how to get MSSQL database monitored, here's the following steps i have done. 1. Add Server 2. Go to Performance Monitor 3. Go to MSSQL Tab 4. Select any options available from list 5. But as soon as i add it, it give me an option saying Select Database, but there's no database listed, i have 4 database available. Remove Disk Utilization Check?
I'm monitoring over 350 servers and have determined that I have no use for the Disk Utilization Check since I monitor and alarm on each individual disk. Is there a way to globally remove the Disk Utilization Check on all servers instead of having to do it on each one individually?
OpManager CPU Utilization always at 100%
OpManager shows the CPU utilization of many servers at 100%. When on the actual server they are much lower than that and it needs to be fixed. Thanks.

I have created a new Device Template for Fortigate 310B and 3016B and created new monitors for the CPU Utilization .1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.101.4.1. 3.0 Memory Utilization .1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.101.4.1. 4.0 Active Connection Count .1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.1.10.0 I have tested the monitors and they are working fine and retrieving data however the gauges for CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization and Active Connection Count are not displaying anything. I have added to the opmanager_snapshot_dial.xml the bellow entries
Opman Tab error (9200)
Hi! I updated Opman from 9101 to 9200 yesterday and since then I am having problems on updating tabs for the interface. Infact there are no tabs there at all for any user including admin. Is there a way to restore the original tabs? When I try to put tabs there and save the applications prompts Error and nothing more. Do you have any suggestions on how to solve this problem? OpManager - Widget/Dashboard faults
Unable to see "core routers, switches, routers etc" in the Infrastructure snapshot on the Home, Overview dashboard. When i click edit It shows them in there but fails to display in the actual overview. Tried to add a new Widget and get the error "Error Type: LoadXLM, Description: Incorrect XML" when i click ok, the error goes away but i can't add any widgets.
Business View
I have recently upgraded to the latest version of OpManager and it seems to have effected my Business View. It is only a simple view with 3 locations, but the box is very big and messes up my dashboard view. Is there a way to change the size of the box? I have attached a picture to show what I mean. Can you apply a Rule Engine to existing devices
Hi I have created a few rules using the Rule Engine, and it works nicely for new devices. For example I have created a new rule that adds a bunch of Windows service monitors to some of our servers. Now I would like to add those services to some of the existing devices. In stead of using the Quick Configuration Wizard to add the services one by one it would be nice to just apply the rule to my existing devices. Is that possible (Without deleting and readding the devices)?
Edit thresholds System Monitors
Is (and how) it possible to edit the system monitor thresholds under Active Directory Monitors. I want to adjust the thresholds but have to do this for each domaincontroller (35x) And is it possible to make multiple Windows 2008 device templates. OpManager Error 12029
Hi, We are using Opmanager to monitor WAN activity in real-time, and for that we set up a monitor in the communications department. The thing is, that after a while, Opmanager will start showing this error message: 12029: Unknown We have to clear that error window in order to keep seeing the real-time graphs, but since the browser is opened on a dedicated computer, directly connected to the monitor, this is not acceptable. Any ideas why this error happens? and more importantly how to fix
Printer Notifaction Question
We are doing an eval of OpManager and ran into this issue. We imported about 140 networked printers and we were going to setup a notification profile for them by using the wizard so we could do them all at the same time but it seems that option to trigger the notification "when any [selected] Print Monitor is down" is not available when trying to apply to multiple printers at once. Hyper-V Device Templates not working as expected
OpManager v9200 I have a 2008R2 Hyper-V Host with 8 Hyper-V VM's and when I add them to OpManager they get classified as 'virtual' devices but the VM's default to the VMWare Virtual Machine Device Template and the Hyper-V host gets both the Hyper-V Host Device Template AND the VMWare Host Device Template. Evaluating and comparing values based on OID using scripts
Hi everyone, I am looking for a way to evaluate and compare values (based on OID) using script monitors. Assume that I have a device (.1.2.3.4) which reports its expected state (.1.2.3.4.1) and current state (.1.2.3.4.2). I'd like to periodically evaluate the values of the two states and compare them to check whether the current state is expected (i.e. no problem). The way I am doing it is querying from the OpManager database in script. Is this the only way? Is there any better, easier, less flaky

Our server is running low on disk space and the following path is taking up most room: C:\Program Files\AdventNet\ME\central\logs_archive Size - 21.4GB. all files in are text documents, and dated today (20/07/12) and yesterday (19/07/12) Does anyone know if it is safe to remove any of these files? thanks steve
