Running OpManager 5.6 with FireFox
Dear, I have Installed and runned OpManager 5.6 under Linux. Everything is fine, until I tried to access OpManager with FireFox. The browser can't access OpManager and it's refreshing all the time. But if I accessed OpManager with IE6, everything is normal. Would you explain me? Is Opmanager doesn't support firefox? Thank you very much. Regards, Stevanus
Systems showing 0 availability, 10ms response, clear status
I've found sporatic servers with dashboard views of: Today's availability - all RED Downtime is listed at the current hour Response time: 10ms (or good response in most cases) Resource & Service status are all clear I can't seem to correct the availability status on the dashboard screen. I've tried: Update Status, Clear Status, UnManage / Re-Manage, Shutdown OpManager service and restart. Have you run into this? I hate to delete the device and lose otherwise good monitors.

changing logos
Hi am running the demo ver and would like to know how to change the logos to my compay's logo....also when created a businessview for one of my clients...when they log in they see at the top righthand corner the about and register links...I want to be able to take that out so the client would not be able too click on this...is there a file I have to edit in order to do this... thanks

SMS notification
I noticed in the SMS notification setup screen it asks for an email address. does this system support SMS natively, or only sending text messages via email gateways? Is it possible to use an smsc?
Some basic (I think) questions
I'm sure a lot of this is covered somewhere, but if you're like me you have better things to do than go documentation-diving. 1) I've installed net-SNMP 5.2 on the few linux systems I need to manage, it seems to be gathering CPU metrics fine (hard to tell though, they aren't going above 0.1% user) but Memory and Disk Space metrics aren't in the MiB table. I've found alternate OID's for the statistics I need, but I can't seem to figure out how to setup the MEM and Disk Space graphs to show anything

server specification for opmanager
Hi I remember seeing a while ago a list of specs for opmanager servers depending on the number of nodes etc, but I cant for the life of me find that thread. I currently have opmanager running on a P4 2ghz box with 512mb ram. It runs great, and I have under 500 nodes. I was wanting to use the 2ghz box for something else, and was wonderinig how well opmanager works on a SMP environment server. I have a quad p3-700 box with 4gb ram spare, would there be an issue running opmanager on this spec server?
OpManager CATOS support
For my OpManager 5.6, CISCO IOS support is OK. But I have some cisco 6509 device and run CATOS. The product can not find out the portname or ifindex and CPU and Memory usage but Cisco 6513 run Cisco IOS is OK. Please tell me how to solve it. Frank
Failed to change Snmp_Version2c ==> Snmp_Version1
I had edited my SNMP parameters as describe at http://manageengine.adventnet.com/products/opmanager/help/user_guide/mib_browser/mb_snmp_conf.html from Snmp_Version2c to Snmp_Version1. After made change, exit the MIBBrowser, exit the OpManager client and rerun the OpManager to check the setting, it is still Snmp_Version2c. I also tried to restart the OpManager but the result still the same. Help me.
Password Reset
Hi All, I have managed to lock myself out of OpManager5 by reseting the admin password ad then notn being able to log back in - how stupid do I feel. Could someone point me in the right direction for how I go about doing password recovery on the database / reseting the admin account. Kind regards and TIA. Ben

OpManager 5.6 and Netflow Analyser
Hi, What does Opmanager use to look up the right interface in NFA? I have a couple of routers that I'm not able to use SNMP on for various reasons, so I've configured the interface and device names manually in NFA. However, OpManager's links to NFA's graphs for these interfaces don't work - it says "Unable to fetch Netflow details". For routers where I have SNMP configured, the NFA links work perfectly. Acess Denied when trying to add Windows Service Monitor(s)
i have enabled RPC and WMI on the SBS 2003 server, i am logging in as Domain\Administrator and my password is 100% correct, yet it still gives me "acess denied" Someone elswhere mentioned WMI and RPC authentication, how do i check this? Thanks in advance, Mark

I am Demo'ing the opmanager software to see if my company wants to buy it, I am trying to do exchange monitoring, It shows to be an addon option is there an optional download for it or is it included in the 5.6 release? If its included is there any trick to setting it up?
OpManager webstart or applet start mode
We are presented and POC for OpManager and Netflow Analyzer to my customer. The customer ask whether the opmanager support the applet start or webstart mode(the customer have evaluted the webnms). But I found the opmanger has not applet or webstart start mode. Please tell how to enable the opmanager in order to start it via applet and webstart mode. Frank
Did Upgrade to 5.6 replacement of OIDTYPE.data
In the /conf folder in OIDType.data I'd edited (and have backed up copies) the file so that devices we own would be readily identifed. I also chose to pull some of the Cisco switch/routers away from the "series" classifications, as I saw some OID's only applied to specific models within the series. I just want to confirm that the upgrade procedure for OpManager will not preserve any user edits to this page. MySQL Support
It is unclear in reading the installation instructions whether the .bin distributed will actually install MySQL or just configure some tables for use. I assume the latter is the case, but could someone confirm this for me? Is access to the underlying database "open"? Thanks, Chris

How fancy can you get with the string matching in the Event Rules "Description contains string :" field ? Are there wildcard characters you can use? What I want to do is alert based on an administrator failed login to only specific domains.

Mysql continuing issues
When I tried to start OpManager on the existing MySql 4.0.18-nt instance on port 3306 the error I get when I click on the Alarms tab is: Exception occured while forming SQL to get Total Count; nested exception is: java.sql.SQLException: Syntax error or access violation, message from server: "You have an error in your SQL syntax. Hello, That's the first time i try OPmanager. my OS is linux debian. I have on the starting of OPmanager, this error : Connection Failed to web server. gracefully down OPManager. On the help guide, it say that i need to install a lib (libdb..) and so do i. But nothing goes better. Do i forgot something?
If Badwidth information not displayed for Vanguard Routers
We have VANGUARD 340 and VANGUARD 6455 SNMP enabled routers. All the interfaces are shown with status information(up/down), if name, link speed, but not the TX and RX traffic. I created a Custom Monitor using a OID that gets some traffic information when using MIB Browser, but when associated with the router device, no data is collected. I also tried to load specific MIB for Vanguard Routers, but OpManager shows an error message during MIB load: "Error parsing MIB:traffic_monitor_opt.mib" Does anyone

Okay I'm trying to monitor a SNMPv1 temperature monitoring device but I'm not having much luck. I can get the correct variable from snmpwalk, but Opmanager refuses to poll it. This is the OID I'm trying to monitor: iso.3.6.1.4.1.16174.1.1.1.3.1.2.0 snmpwalk shows it as: iso.3.6.1.4.1.16174.1.1.1.3.1.2.0 = STRING: "78.5" the MIB Browser will list the entire devices status only when I enter and hit get or get next on OID: .3.6.1.4.1 Shouldn't this be as easy as specifying IP, snmp community, and OID
Adding Linksys WAP54G to OpManager
Hi, I'm trying to add Linksys WAP54g to OpManager. It got picked up as a server, so I tried to add a new device type for it. The system description OID is .1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.3.2.10, but when I try to add it it says that there's already a device type present for this OID. However, I can't find it in the list. The closest ones are .1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.3.2.3 for Solaris and .1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.3.2 for Linux. alec
