Release Port 80?
Can anyone tell me how I can release port 80 from within the OS (Server 2003)? I installed OpManager as a trial on a development server. I have since purchased the product and installed it on a permanent machine. However, I can not use any applications now on the development server that require port 80. I get a message that says port 80 is already in use by another application. There were only 2 applications that used port 80...OpManager and the one I am trying to start. OpManager uninstalled clean

restore backup on another machine
hi all i installed the opmanager on a test machine and then installed it on a life machine, but when i took backup from the test machine and restore it on the other one i couldn't login although i login with the same user "admin". it says invalid user. how can i overcome this problem because it's important to take backup and restore it on another machine if the old one fails. Hi All There is a strange problem happens, while the opmanger is working good, suddenly the server is shutdown and a message appears asking me to change the port because it is occuppied by another application, and the server can't start again till i restart the windows.i tried many ports but the problem happens with them all, and i can't use the default port 80. will be happy with any reply Regards

How to add a second link between devices
I'm just testing the software at the moment and we are very impressed with it. We have a number of sites and between them we have backup links, so if our primary link goes down, everything will switch over to the secondary one. How can i set in business views a second link between devices so i can monitor both links at the same time?? thanks for any help

Odd WMI monitoring
I'm testing out Opmanager on my network, and I seem to be having an issue with the WMI monitoring. On the computer that Opmanager is installed, it can monitor it fine, and I use an account I created on my DC to check (full admin account). When I try to monitor other servers (configuring the user to all of the devices in the domain) it will not monitor the devices. Now here is where it gets weird. If I go into a device, and then edit the WMI monitor of say, CPU usage, and click the test monitor button,
web problem
Hello, I have installed opmanager 5.6 on three boxes running XP. In both cases I couldn't start the web client. No problems with ports. It seems at the tray that opmanager service is running. When I am trying to open the web page to login I get waiting response from browser (ie and firefox) and timeouts after a while. What is happening? Is there something that opmanager requires to work and not mentioned anywhere? I have tried changing ports, disable everything else running antivirus,firewalls...

How much network traffic does OpManager generate if I am doing a Remote Administration? I mean if I install the Client on a Remote machine across WAN of 2 MBps capacity, can I administer the entire infrastructre without choking the bandwidth? I will appreciate your detailed answer.
CPU, Mem and Disk Uitls not updating
The CPU, Mem and Disk Utilisations are not updating. I have associated the SNMP resource monitors and checked the username and password. For a windows domain, do you have to specify the domain name in the username box? The troubleshooting page says to check if the device is responding using the MIB browser. I have never used the MIB browser before and have no idea what to do or how do it. If I select a monitor from Resource Monitors and Edit it, then click Test Monitor an error at the top of the
Organize Business Views and Dynamic IP's
Good Day! First Off, Great product! I love it and am looking at more. I have 2 questions: 1. Can I ogranize business views? I have been unable to find out how to move them around, so 1 business view is first. 2. I have a remote user and would like to monitor their router. Their router uses a Dynamic IP so I am using a dns address. When I add it in Opmanager it adds it with the IP address and I cannot change this to the DNS name instead. Is this possible? Thanks!
Feature Request for web client: Add custom pie/bar/dials
What might be handy feature is the ability to select a monitor eg Interface Tx Utilization -Gigabit ethernet Adapter and specify that I wanted the results displayed in a pie chart and the and have OpManager display this image next to the other 3 (cpu, ram, hdd % utilization) Another example, there is a custom monitor which is for a fan speed. Tell OpManager that I want the results displayed as a little speedo dial with 8000 rpm at its green line and under 5000 rpm as red.
Custom WMI monitor displays "NA" in graph
I have added several WMI monitors, such as physical disk reads/sec, following the directions in forums.adventnet.com/viewtopic.php?t=573. When I test the monitor, I get correct values. However, when I try to look at the graph using the same device as the test, it shows "NA". The monitor has been setup and "running" for about 16 hours and is scheduled to run every 15 minutes. Most, not all, of the WMI monitors I have added are doing this, but report results when I run the test. Attached is the vbscript

I get weird alarms: Device Active and Responding and status is Trouble. How is Active and Responding a trouble. I have notice this ward behavior only with printers.
Windows SNMP install script
I have 400 windows 2000/2003 servers that I inherited from the previous Server team. None of them have SNMP installed and I need to get it done ASAP to take full advantage of OP MGR. Does anyone know of a script I can run to install it in an automated fashion on all servers?

Hy, i installed the new version of opmanager on a test server. version 5.6 of opmanager. the problem is, that monitoring exchange 2000 does not work. the server i would like to monitor has follow settings: windows 2000 server with exchange 2000, wmi is on the system activated. i have add the exchange 2000 monitor (wmi-based), the domain-admin pasphrase is in operation exchange server health is ok, but all other services had an N/A status,(screenshot2) i has test the monitor for some services , example:
New mapping device "Wireless"
I have added all of my devices for monitoring & the mapping sections are intuitive except my wireless devices. They don't fall into any existing categories. My request is could it be possible to have a Wireless device mapping? I know you can create business views but this gets a little complected for helpdesk staff for monitoring purposes. Cary

Hi! We monitor about 40 firewalls with SNMP, and i need to be able to check that they all have the correct firmware installed. On the OpManager web client home page (http://localhost/overview.do?selectedTab=Home) were it has recent alarms, servers with high cpu and memory usage, maybe reduce applications with high response times down to 5 and include a servers with high network usage in last 24 hours. OpManager on ISP environment
Hi, I try to use OpManager on ISP environment. We've a lot of router and each router have more ip/interface. We've CISCO 7xxx, CISCO 72xx, CISCO 65xx, CISCO 3600 around 25 nodes up. Now, I try to add each node into OpManager. But it detects my CISCO router into Desktop. How can I corrent this ? Please advise me, how to optimize OpManager on large network environment. OpManager Hangs on Startup
We had some issues with the server hosting OpManager and now when the system starts up, OpManager tries to load and just hangs. I've attached a picture of where it is hung up. How do we fix this?

First, I noticed our FreeBSD Servers are being detected as 'Linux' servers. Then I tried to manually change the device type to FreeBSD, but there isn't one. There isn't even a *BSD or just plain old 'BSD'. I chose UNIX, since it's the next closest description of the device, and the web image of the server is just a plain desktop. I looked in the C:\Program Files\AdventNet\ME\OpManager\webclient\devices\images directory, and found a unix.jpeg image that, while it's a desktop, would suit the purposes.
Formulas in graphs
I am trying to get a formula to work in a graph. Here is my graphinfo.xml file. It is not working even after re-adding it to the monitor. However, the headings did change (from oC to oF as I had it to begin with) so I know it is seeing the change ok, it just wont do the formula. Received TRAPs are shown in ALARM list not TRAP?
Hi, I hope you can give me an advice or solution for my problem. I am receiving traps from one node but in OpManager I can't get them as TRAP I just received them as ALARM. It is a bit confusing to me. I made a trace and I was able to see that TRAP messages are sent to port 162. If you need more details I can provide them to you. Thank you in advance! Best Regards, Ivo

TimeSchedule for Monitoring / Alerts
I'm testing your Application for changing from my Whatsup Gold / ServersAlive. There comes up a question about a feature. I would like to monitor an URL/Server. Normal URL Monitoring would be 1 Min and alerting after the second down to a specific (Pager)EMail Address. But between 22:00 and 5:00 The alerting should go off only after 5 down and even then sending an email to another E-Mailaddress (nopager). As a nice to have - if an Alert is going off 4:50 (sending a Mail to nopager) and is still running
