Hi.. Just want to know, are there possible/ way to eliminate/do not show the snmp symbol near the device/router.
Move a DC to normal server without AD-license in OP

StillSecure's Strata Guard IPS/IDS snmp
Is it possible for OpManager to receive SNMP traps from IPS/IDS' that does not allow polling, and relies on SNMP monitor (OpManager) to only listen for the snmp packets? It seems that StillSecure's Strata Guard will only direct SNMP traps towards OpManager, but will not allow OpManager to poll Strata Guard. I know that by adding a device in OpManager causes SNMP polling towards the network device, but Strata Guard totally ignores them. The implication is that OpManager cannot see the Strata Guard
Error restoring opmanger path not found
HI We are trying to restore opmanager on new machine when moving from free version to 30 trial. When runnig restoredb.bat with backup file we get this error message: java.io.IOException: The system cannot find the path specified at java.io.WinNTFileSystem.createFileExclusively(Native Method) at java.io.File.createNewFile(Unknown Source) at jdbc.RestoreBackup.deCompressData(RestoreBackup.java:963) at jdbc.RestoreBackup.main(RestoreBackup.java:1133) Backup File does't exist. Devices with alerts that I cannot get rid of!

Database Maintenance - Keeping Data forever!
Why is it not possible to keep detailed stats for longer than 15 days and hourly stats for longer than 90 days? I'd like to keep ALL data indefinetely. Why isn't this an option?
CPU/Memory/Disk Utilization
Hi friends, I've just installed the free version on a Windows 2003 server and can't get the CPU/Memory/Disk Utilization monitors to work on the same machine. I suspect that SNMP is not configured properly on my server, because I don't see a little blue star. The SNMP service and Trap service is running but I have a few configuration questions related to the SNMP service: 1. Do i need to configure anything under the "Traps" tab? 2. On the "Security" tab, do I need to check the "send authentication
not able to see Resource monitors for Router (With Snapshots
I have added Resource monitors for Router but it is not showing any data. But all the details work well in "solarwinds" and it shows all the "CPU Utilization" and "Memory Utilization" monitor that means my MIB is correct. And OPManager taken Interfaces Configuration details automatically when i add ip of that particular router. Please help. Regards, Trisha
Server with Dynamic IP address
I am trying to monitor a server that unfortunatley has a dynamic IP address. It appears that when I add the server it resolves the name and ONLY uses the IP address. When the address changes, I loose the server. Any way to have it use Name Based?
OP Manager
I just want to ask: if you havee 5 notification profiles on OP Manager, is there a way to have 1 of the notification profile be disabled for a certain time, but the other 4 profiles still continue to give alerts 24hours ? jjcubillan@gmail.com
Device Response Time Questions
hi, if I open up a device it comes up with the today's availability, device response time and today's packet loss amongst other stuff. I want to know what protocol the device response time is being measured on (icmp?) and if it is icmp can the packet size be controlled. There also doesn't seem to be any report based on this counter - there are response time by service reports and response time by service also appears on the home tab but no response time by icmp(?) in report form of on the home tab.
VBScript Interaction With Website
I'm trying to write a VBScript that can talk to opmanager and get the stats of specific servers/devices/etc by a quick call. I've wrote one that occasionally works and can very rarely pull the appropriate data from the snapshot page, but its obviously having issues loggin in. As I'm no web interaction guru with vbscript and have no idea how to deal with ".do" files, is there any way ya'll can assist in getting this script working? A step in the wrong direction- or am I missing something?
We have just upgraded to OpManager 6 from 5.6 in the hope that the countless bugs might be resolved. I was horrified to find that MapMaker seems to have lost all its device management capabilities. It appears that it is no longer possible to add a device there, you must first do this in the web client. The map maker still has the fault that it says there is a link between devices when none is shown, and still shows strange bits of links in the top left of the window when the business view is seen
ICON image truble with 6.0 webinterface
My pre opmanger 6.0 unit icon's on webinterface looks like old times images, my new created unit dont look like the old ones they have only a green spot not a router image what is wrong ? on the mapmaker the look OK.
SMS Server issue
Hi, I have a problem with OP Manager SMS server. I have installed service pack 1 to OP manager 6.0 I have a Wavecom m1306b GSM modem connected to server. I have tried to send a SMS with a local application and it works. I am running OP Manager in a Windows 2003 Server. When I try to configure the SMS server in /Admin/SMS Server Settings/, I obtain the screen attached in SMS_server.jpg file. Thanks.
Query regarding desktop discovery in OpManager
Hi, The desktops in my network get discovered very well. But the problem is some desktops show an IP address under the device details instead of host names, whereas the remaining have their host names mentioned under device details. Please let me know as to how I should get the host names discovered for these machines automatically. Please help me at the earliest. Thanks and best regards swordfish667
Monitoring System Resources of 3COM Switches
Does anybody know the correct OID (Object Identifier) of 3COM's switches? We would like to monitor the following parameters: - CPU Utilization - Memory Utilization We are trying to monitor system resource as we do with Cisco equipaments (.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.58 - avgBusy5). We have already downloaded many 3COM MIBs (1.3.6.1.4.1.43 - 3COM Enterprise MIBs) but could not identify the MIB variables to monitor the health of the device, just the traffic of the interfaces.
ColdStart
Every night at 3:00 we reboot some of our windows servers. i found in the alarms an attenttion a few minutes later of: Device Active and Responding But hours later another warning gives: ColdStart : CTX03.1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.1.3.1.2 Hardware: x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 7 AT/AT COMPATIBLE - Software: Windows 2000 Version 5.0 (Build 2195 Multiprocessor Free) The server is not rebooting on that time and there is nothing wrong on that given time. Issue with scheduled reports
Hi all, I have some scheduled reports for my devices, and I have errors in the data contained in these reports. For example, in one of the routers I managed, the report for 30 days availability gave 99% and the dynamic availability report from the router snapshot gives the real data, 75%. I�m trying to connect a SUSE Linux Enterprise 9 , to monitoring from OPMANAGER. I�m want to use a Telnet or SSH connection but always i�m read in log message APPLNERR: Login Failure: using both connections. How can i obtain more details to this error ?
RAID monitoring possible?
Hello everyone, Been using this for a couple of weeks now and really like it. Im currently using the full version 30 day trial. Asset serial number
It is possible to see the asset serial number in the asset list. We usually buy a lot of PCs and it is very difficult to link an asset to a user or workstation if we have to access every asset in the list to see the serial number.

Issue with All Devices report
Hi there, we're trialing the free version of OpManager 6, and have run into an issue with the reports. At the moment, we're using it to simply keep track of the uptime of devices, via ping responses. We've had a device that has been down for more than 14 hours today, and if I go into the details of the device availability, it correctly shows that it has been down for that time. However, if I run an All Devices Availability report, it comes up saying that the device has had a max of 2 mins 14 sec
Traffic polling interval
Hi, In the Admin -> Traffic Monitors I have the Interface Rx Traffic and Interface Tx Traffic polling interval set to 5 min however when I add a new router it is not inheriting those values instead it is taking the 15 min default value. Any idea how to correct this problem? Thanks, Ramzi
Admin -> SNMP Trap Processors - unable to access page 2
While adding in some custom trap processors I realised that I was unable to access any of the processors on page 2. The new processors are there - I deleted some processors from page 1 until they showed up on page 1 - but when I select <Goto Page> 2 page 1 processors are displayed once again. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Robert
Device already present in system
I have a device that isn't showing up and when I try to add it OpManager says that the device is already present in the system. I ran the RemoveDBEntries.bat against that device name, but I am still getting this message. help! Shawn
Problem with high load
Hello. I installed opmanager about a week ago, and im currently monotoring 23 servers. For the resource monitor i use standard settings, i monitor cpu,memory and disks. On 2 of the servers the winmgmt.exe process hits 100% cpu usage when i add this servers to opmanager. If i disable snmp it stops and the servers goes fine. The dll file the winmgmt.exe are using is wbemcomn.dll and it�s the same file on both these servers, on the other servers i dont have this file? I checked the microsoft support
Problem in discovering Router 2651 interfaces
Hello all The OpManager has sucessfully discovered router 2651 on the network. It had discovered this router as a switch, hence i changed the device type to router. But the problem is that it does not display the router interfaces. Please let me know how this is to be done. Thanks swordfish667

Export of Discovery Possible/Feature?
Atfer spending time setting up OM is it possible to Export Devices that we've edited and added monitors to? For me this is just plain Catastrophe management.
MSSQL to MYSQL Conversion
We have been having a lot of issues with MSSQL being the back end for OpManager. Is there any way to convert everything in it (I could live without the history, but not anything else) to a MYSQL database instead to see if it runs more reliably? Also, when using a MSSQL database the dbmaint and dbbackup utilities don't seem to work. Thanks
Disk Usage monitoring on Solaris through Telnet SSH
I've searched the forums and have found topics which are related, but don't seem to answer this question. I /think/ i have my snmpd.conf file set correctly, but still could not get snmp based monitoring to work. So I gave up, and went with telnet based monitoring. CPU/ Memory seem to work fine. Disk monitoring just shows all space as free. A big pink pie chart is all i see. This is incorrect. As mentioned, I am using the Telnet based disk usage monitor for Solaris. The test results come back good:

Hi. I see this has been discussed a number of times here, however nothing seems to actually fix the issue in my case. I am attempting to run opmanager-msp under Debian linux. After installation, running ./StartOpManagerServer.sh "Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager." occurrs. I would really like the option to add a URL monitor to a Business View. For my purpose, it would give me a top level view of the availability of an application. I already have the servers, mainframe, switches, routers, etc. that are in use in making the application available. The infrastructure-based URL monitors would complete the business view. Thank you
