Opmanager debian installation error help required
Hi Guys, I am trying opmanger because my director want to buy this software before buying we need to test so i am started installing opmanager in debian etch and when i try to start the webserver i am getting the following error Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/adventnet/nms/util/InitWebSvr Syntax error on line 50 of ./conf/httpd.conf: ServerRoot must be a valid directory I have not chnaged any scripts Please help me how to fix this problem Once i get started working
SNMP Discovery
SNMP was not installed on my servers, so i went to the control panels and added the SNMP services and made sure they were running, but still opmanager is not being able to discover the snmp services on the servers

OPManager Windows services monitor issue - 64 bits platform
OPManager can't add any Windows service monitor on our Win2K3 64 bits machine. Got error: "Error # The object exporter specified was not found. " How can we fix it?
Port deletion problem
I have a number of Dell 3348 stackable switches. They have 48 ports each, and appear in the interfaces section as a sequence from 1 to about 200. (not totally sequencial) My problem: Opmanager 6 and 7 build 7010 I only want to monitor the downlink port and the odd important port, so I want to remove all but about 3 ports max. It is apparent, that if I try to delete too many interfaces in one operation, it fails. Get an error flag at the bottom of the page. If I rediscover the interfaces and select
APC Switched Rack PDU
we have several APC Switched Rack PDU's in use on different locations. We need to monitor this devices via OpManager. I found no Device Template for this PDU's and APC only has a PowerNet MIB File that we imported via Mib-Browser. If i choose the PowerNet Mib in Mib-Browser internet Explorer displays a warning because of a script that delayes page displaying. How can i monitor our PDU's in OpManager? Jenson
Cannot get support Opmanager 7: 7010
Can one of you forum regulators please assist. I pay for support that I can no longer get. My user id and password for the portal doesn't work any more, and there is no lost password facility. After installing Opmanager 7, I have a lot of issues that need resolving, and I have already spent 6 working days on rebuilding my system, only to find things rapidly unraveling. Various problems with Opmanager 7 & MSSQL
I've used Opmanager 6 in the past, but did not get out of it what I wanted. Since we still need monitoring software, I want to give Opmanager 7 a go. 1) When I discover a Class C with only switches in it, only the first switch is correctly discovered, the rest is classified as "unknown". SNMP settings are identical on all switches. When I manually change the device from desktop to the correct (cisco) switch, it can read all counters correctly, and discovers the interfaces. Hey, We just applied the migration pack for V6 -> V7. All seems fine with the new features but i have a problem with the custom infrastructure views: For alarm escalation reason, i need to have all my servers in different infrastructure view. So i create 3 infrastructure view and call them "view1" "view2" "view3". I move my servers from the default "Servers" infrastructure views to the 3 new ones. Temp directory is Huge - OPManager 7
Hello, I just see that my TEMP directory under OPManager tree, and it is around 1,8 GB (I installed OPManager 7 to weeks ago). There are 58000 xml files (1-10 KB each). What are those XML files ? Can I delete them ? Is there any way to shrink automatically those files ? (the OPManager shutdown and re-start does not delete them) The fact is that since I 've hotfixed (7004) the OPManager (yesterday), no XML files were created. Thanks, Regards. -- Olivier
Service Monitors and Server Availabilty
Is it possible for OpManager to be configured so that the service monitors have an impact on the server availability stats. i.e. MSSQL service goes down therefore the database server availability should be down until that service is back up again.

Rotating Map/Dashboard
I would like to have a dashboard view displaying constantly on a screen in my office. Is there anyway to make the screens change ie go from servers to routers to desktops etc to help avoid screen burn?

Hi, We currently have OpManager 6 within the environment and due to the server getting to the end of lease, have now got a new server on which I would to install OpManager Version 7. No more menu after upgrade from 6016 to 7010
I did the upgrade from 6016 to 7010. All went fine, no errors, but I now don't have the menu to go to other pages anymore. It's not a problem of my browser (IE6 and IE7), since your Demo does show the menu's for me. Do more people have this bug? And does anyone know what I can do about it? As you can see I am logged in with Admin. This is the user with all rights, so that should't be the problem.
No discovered devices showing up
So, I have OpManager 7, and it sees most of my devices on discovery, but when I import them nothing ever shows up in any of the maps or views. The devices show up if I click on "create new business view" but that is it. Ideas?

Event log rule processing order
In what order does the event log rules process? Here's a scenario: * Rule 1 - Capture all events where the source is "Foo" * Rule 2 - Capture all events where the source is "Foo" and the word "access denied" in the description. firewall device information - WatchGuard
I was wondering if it was possible to add new device types to the list of devices in OPManager 7? Particularly, we use WatchGuard Firebox firewall systems in our company, but this brand is not listed anywhere in the list of available devices. Is there any way I can add a device type for WatchGuard devices? Or does anyone have this type of device template available I could just have e-mailed to me? Any help would be appreciated.
Wrong time displayed
Hi, I'm evaluating Opmanager (7010 for windows) for my company, and I've met a very annoying problem : all the events are displayed with the wrong time, there's a -7 hours offset for everything. Multi-value monitors
When using a multi-value monitor like % Processor Utilization which value does the threshold alert based off of? For example, CPU0 and CPU1 are two CPUs, the first one running at 58%, the second at 78%. If the monitor has a threshold of 70% does it trigger? Will the second value rearm when it hits the rearm value? The graph on the main page is a bit misleading in that it only shows the last processor in the collection (CPU1 in this case). Thanks, Colin

Is there a way I can click on my routers page and view graphs for all interfaces instead of the number. Or could i also create a custom page with just graphs. Something like an interface summary

Traps with OID untraslated
Hi. I'm getting traps from routers and switches like this: Interface down : ifIndex: 3, ifDescr: FastEthernet0/1/0, ifType: 6, .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.20.3: down I have loaded the corresponding MIB (OLD-CISCO-INTERFACES-MIB), and when i get this value from the mib browser, it is translated correctly. I don't want to see the OID in the alarm (i need readable text). There is any solution? Regards, Andres
Linking Devices using more than one interface

The ability to have more information included in notifications. The ability to parse trap information rather than including the entire trap information in each notification.
Deleting Database files
I have to continually remove files from program files\adventnet\me\opmanager\mysql\data\opmanagerdb\statsdatax_x_xxxx.*** almost daily in order to continue to get information. After I delete the necessary file, I restart Opmanager and it works fine for awhile. The next morning, I have to delete the file(s) all over again. Will this bug be corrected soon?
