Making threshold configuration changes to switches
Hi, I'm evaluating OpManager 7 for our company. So far, I've been very pleased with the product and its features. However, there is one thing that is really bugging me... For any given device type or category, I would like to be able to make global configuration changes that will affect all objects of that type or category. For example, I don't want to have alarms raised in OM7 for "desktops" that are not reachable, as this is common since people frequently turn off or reboot their desktop computers.

HI all, i use orinoco-mib to monitor my ap-2000 wireless , i create a monitor to view connected users with this oid 1.3.6.1.4.1.11898.2.1.33.3.0 but in graph only show 2 users ,when a go to mib browser and query this oid return oriStationStatNumberOfClients.0:8 cant help me to correct this ?
Problems with CLI commands
Error message: "The Monitor did not respond to the test request " I have tried to connect to the server using the exact same username and password and using Putty (from the same server that OpManager runs on). That works just fine but OpManager does not connect. OpManager User Access Options Needs
I have some recommendations that would be useful, at least in our environment. 1. The ability for admins to configure non-admin user accounts with more/less access like: a. The ability to see infrastructure views. b. The ability to see all alarms (like admins). c. The ability to see the spash graphs for alarms and availability. 2. For only admins to be able to set the user account session timeouts. 3. The ability to set and automatically cycle through preselected views (Helpdesk and executive offices).

hi, i'm new on Opmanager although I am nt having a lot of trouble, only this: when i configure the information to send notifications by e-mail, this message is shown: Invalid Addresses; nested exception is: class javax.mail.SendFailedException: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for the " to ID email", this happens whenever i tried to send a test email, i'm working with the free version (up to 10 nodes) of Opmanager, is this the reason?? :D
Discover Devices
I am only able to discover devices 255 at a time. I set my net mask to 255.255.0.0 and should be able to search for: start : 45.0.0.0 end : 45.0.255.255 Right? Well it only picks up 45.0.0.0 to 45.0.0.255. Does anyone know what is going on? Thanks.
Internal Server Error 500 - Trying to update credentials
Due to our network scan failing to pick up information regarding CPU load etc. want to double-check our credential information. However, upon making a change to a set of credentials and hitting Update I get the following error: "500 : Internal Server Error" My changes fail to save.

Cannot Login after changing Admin Password
We are running OpManager 7 and the other day I changed the password from "admin" to a new one. Now, I can no longer login. I don't get an incorrect password message, the page. The page just sits there and it says opening page https://localhost/jsp/login.do and hangs there... Please advise Thanks
Error "80041010" when adding MSSQL WMI monitors
"80041010 - Specified class is invalid. Try running 'wmiadap /f'(For Windows XP and 2003) or 'winmgmt /resyncperf'(For Windows 2000) command from the monitored device. " I've followed the instructions and ran "wmiadap /f" on my Windows 2003 SQL server, but there was no effect. I am supplying my domain admin pw, and the SNMP/WMI is running on the SQL server.

Hey, Simple question: When I add a SQL server to OPmanager it doesn't show the special SQL monitors (Databeses etc.) only the standard CPU,mem,hdd monitors is shown. Whe whole extra dashboard where the databases should be is not present, and the server is looking identical to fx. our fileservers which doesn't have any special addon. Security request
Can you please make a security group that has access to modify device details without giving someone full permissions to the monitors ect? I have people asking if they change the names of devices but the only way to do that is to give them admin rights.

this request was posted over 2 years ago, has there been any movement on it? It was stated that it would go into the roadmap .......must be a very long road !!!! I would and i would guess that alot of users would find it very very benifical to have this, this is something that can be done using the likes of Cacti to trend your disk usage etc for capacity planning. Is there any update or has it been dropped? Cheers.
Monitoring DHCP
Looking at the list of available Windows services DHCP is not listed, however if you run through the Quick Configuration wizard DHCP is listed as a Windows service option. I added DHCP as a service monitor via this tool to one of my servers in OpManager (7021) but I cannot find it listed under any of the categories, nor has upgrading to 7023 resolved the issue.

Today something really strange happened
Hello Today i tried to get my Utilization-Graphs for my switches working in OpManager Build 7021. I did run the RepairDB.bat as OpManager still was running as Service. After it finished succesfully i stopped OpManager and started RepairDB.bat again. After that i rebooted the Server (Windows 2003 Standard Edition). After the reboot i couldnt connect to the server via Remote Desktop whats really strange because i didnt even touch Windows itself. So i had to work over the VIX Console because OpManager
Cannot update threshold twice
I'm having some problems changing thresholds that I have previously updated. For example, if I set the cpu threshold to: > 80 Rearm 70 click ok and it saves fine, but then if I decide later I want to change it to something else such as >70 Rearm 60 I click ok and the same old values are still there. I have done repairdb.bat. The only way it lets me change a previously entered value is if I restart opmamanger or the opmamanger service.

Hello! There is box where OpManager is runing. IP adress of the box has been changed and OpManager won't restore monitoring. Is there way to resume monitoring with new IP adress? I wouldn't like to install OpManager anew and configurate it every time IP address is changed. The Alert looks like: Source Alarm Message Status Technician Category Date / Time 172.24.1.166 OpManager has detected that it has lost network connectivity and has suspended all monitoring. How to Schedule a Custom Report for Delivery via eMail?
Hi all, we have several VoIP-Servers running in our environment. We created a Device Template for that servers to recieve Information aout total Number of Calls a day and so on. Now i need to be able to schedule a report that shows us the Total Number of Calls, The number of internal and external calls and so on. The report needs to be send daily as an eMail to several people working here. I found no way to schedule a custom report. Only the Top-N Reports and the availability reports can be scheduled????
Direct mysql query of opmanager data
Hi, I'm looking to perform a number of queries with a scripted monitor in AppManager to poll summary data from OpManager. The underlying database seems to be a real mess, and I am struggling to see where the actual group availability data is. I want to start by polling the availability of each of the groups in the infrasttucture snapshot... can anyone tell me the table where the good stuff lives? i've waded though schema's and mysqldump's for clues, but i'm still blind really... any help appreciated
SMS on Opman
Hi there, Has anyone used the SMS feature on Opman? Im trying to get it working with a few different mobiles. The supported mobiles listed include the motorola v3 yet the documentation says it only supports sms via serial cable. The v3 only has a usb cable (which supports a usb serial port). I have a v3x which is the slightly upgraded model but i cant get it to work. Ive also tried a motorola L2. These all use basically the same function set and should work fine. Auto-discovery?
I notice that Workstations are a category within the program, so I wished to experiment with whether it's worth adding workstation machines into the program. However, I cannot see any auto-discovery function, everything must be discovered manually, so perhaps that group is only for the very special workstations which merit a static IP for whatever reason? :)
Problems with reports and other part of Opmanager 7
Hi, I discovered today a problem with reports : If you create a new category (infrastructure snapshot) and that you would like to get report form this category, you have no option to select this category to build reports. For example we have 200 devices (servers), I created fewe new infrastructure categories but now I cannot get any reports and I don't want to have a global report to do some manually Is it possible to get from reports exactly same reports in same ways that business view but for infrastructure
URL Monitors
I am evaluating OPManager for URL Monitoring. I a RoadRunner connection and a PC that I am using to monitor our webhosting environment (so I am outside the firewall). As a result OM is understandably not discovering any devices. Question: Is OPManager a good product to use for only URL monitoring, or is it overkill? Seems like it has a lot of other things built in. I added the URLS under Admin - URL Monitoring -- but there does not seem to be any way to tie those to notification profiles. (unless
OP7 Reporting Options
With Opmgr-6 we were able to produce reports that offered a "Time Window" option of either 8am-8pm or 24hrs and I added a 6am-6pm window which allowed us to report on meaningful operational SLA metrics. With 7 that is not a convenient option as we have to setup the report and then select the old data 6 option. This had been a reasonable approach but since we migrated from MS-SQL to MySQL (last week) we are unable to get meaningful data using the 6 option. Any idea how we can get that data now? We
