SMS Server shows completely wrong information / SMS delayed
We use OpManager Build 7100 and monitor 250 Servers with that. Since around a week now the SMS which are send from OpManager via a connected Cellphone where sent ~ 30 Minutes delayed. That caused us to unplug the connection wire between the Phone and the OpManager Server today for testing reasons (COM Connection, Nokia 6310i ). After disconnecting the Cellphone the SMS Server Settings in Administration-Tab of OpManager 7 shows that the Cellphone is still connected !!?? Also rebooting the whole OpManager
Bad interface name
Hello, I'm using OPmanager v7 SP1 (build 7101) and i recently re install the product as my database crashed. So all the installation process went well, i had choose "French" Language and all went ok. Import process (from CSV file) worked fine but when i try to add one of my HP 5308XL switch, i have this kind of strange text ... (see attached file) So i just can't see ports name... Infrastructure Views
I would like to separate some servers into a new infrastructure view, however, when I move these windows 2003/2000 servers to this new view they do not visually show all the monitors such as window services and SQL monitors. If I move them back to the servers view they show visually just fine. Is there a way to get this custom view setup like the server view? Thanks!
SP1 - New features - Process Monitor
Hi, I have one doubt about the new features... the process monitor associates the monitor to ID process or the process name? Also, after I upgraded to SP1, the OP doesn't recognize the new figures in the map directory. Why? There's a procedure to import the figures? Tks in advance. BRgds, Raquel

Upgrade from Build 7100 to 7101 not possible
Hello, at the "About" dialog-windows on OpManager it shows "Build: 7100". I've downloaded the newly released service pack that updates OpManager to Build 7101 and follwed the installation instructions ( make Update of database, etc). The UpdateManager tells me then that i cannot install the Service-Pack, because it is not compatible with our OpManager Version !? any Ideas? Greetings Jenson

Disk I/O data collection
Hi I am using OpManager and have added the following monitors: IO Batch Writes IO Outstanding Reads IO Outstanding Writes IO Page Reads I have specified the threshold and rearm alerts and the monitors do show "normal" However when I click on the monitor to view a report it shows "no data available" How can I generate a report on the IO data? so i can work out the averages over a week? Cisco 6500 Interface Description
Is there a way to make the interface description display the real interface description listed in the Cisco 6500 switch? Looks like it defaults to the interface index number and dome sort of description (or interface type) but the description displayed isn't the real interface description. I found the thread below which I believe is similar to mine but the thread didn't make a lot of sense... <Sorry, I can't post the link> Is there a way to get OpManager to display the REAL interface description?

Need more custom links
Hi, On the snapshot-page it is possible to add custom links e.g. to open a browser with the IP-Adressof the device. However, I have some devices, that I have to open via telnet or a rdp-session for the servers or via VNC or something like that. Is it possible to open another program instead of opening a webbrowser? And if so, how? Greetings Juergen
create and save custom reports
Hi All, I would like to create a custom report and use that for all of our customers. When i click on custom report I can create such a report, but I can't save it. What i would like to achieve is that this custom report is made monthly for every customer automatically and mailed to this customer. I know it is possible to automatically generate a report and mail it to the customer, but not with a custom report. Can anyone help me ?
Maps Infra structure view not available
Hi all, We are experiencing a problem with Servers Infra Structure view under MAPS. The error message is: No Infra Structure View found with this name. We tried to recreate it, without success. No we have 2 records with the name "Servers", but both are not working. We installed SP1. Atached maps.conf file, maybe it helps you.
Email Messages Bytes/Sec and email size
Hello, I have OpManager 7 and I need to know the size of the emails sent by Exchange. I have found the Message Bytes/sec under Message Transfer Agent Monitor but it does not shows any data it is the same with the TCP/IP Receive Bytes/sec and TCP/IP Transmit Bytes/sec monitors. Am I doing something wrong or OpManager cannot provide that information? Regards, Manuel
At-a-Glance Report ByteSec In and OUT problem
Hello, In OPManager, the At-a-Glance Report, the two graphic report Byte/Sec In and Byte/Sec Out goes never far as 200K. If i see a small used interface, the graphic is automaticaly adjusted. But with normal used interface, i cant see the graph with my real traffic because of the 200K Byte/sec limitation of this graphic. Any idee to resolve this problem ?

I am trying to monitor my postfix queue through opmanager have gotten as far as getting the mail queues to output in an snmp walk but I can't figure out which mib I have to use to get this into op manager or if I can just use the OID to import this data in. I am using op manager 6. I am trying to get this into op manager so it can monitor the queues. I am having trouble adding this as a custom monitor because I am unsure what MIB it needs to be mapped to. Any help would be greatly appriciated. mail:/etc/snmp
Trying to execute OpManager on MSSQL 2005 with non-sysadmin
Hello, I installed OpManager 7.0 Professional with MSSQL 2005 database backend, by means of "sa" user. Later, I checked the installation was fine, and then I tried to change database user, in file "database_params.conf". I created in SQL 2005 a new SQL login, called "opmanager", and made it db_owner of OpManagerDB database. Then, I restart the application and doesn't work well. Wrapper.log shows the line "Process : DBServer [ FAILED ]" and stderrXX.log shows the line "17:22:54:491 PM ##### PROBLEM

Linux CPU Utilisation
Hi, Does OpManager only report the User CPU % by default on Linux machines? The OID I'm using is .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.9.0. We recently had an issue were a server's init process stuck at 99% (according to top), causing the server to cease functioning on certain levels. Although the System CPU Utilisation was ~70%, OpManager only saw the User CPU Utilisation which was ~8% so didn't raise an alert. Can you please tell me how to get the system to also monitor System CPU %? Or would it be better practise
Customize dashboard design
Hello all, Currently there are only four different types of reports on Dashboard such as Availability Distributions. Availability Statistics. Average Avalibality Top-N Least Available, It would be better if we could add other custom reports on this dashboard, Going to reports tab and selecting individual report, generating report is bit tedious. Is there any posibility to display the various reports of reports tab on the dashboard? Also, Please try to make Opmanager more customizable. Thanks sNkr
APC UPS monitor stops collecting
I have had this problem from 7 to 7 sp1. Only some monitors fail. Fixed it last time by setting all to 5min rather than 15min. When I manually poll stats come straight back. Get this in log "09:47:46:561 TOPO: Removed childrenKeys from the object 10.0.3.3 since the object is not a Container object" but get it for other devices. (do repairdb all the time)

I wanna buy some new switches but before i do that i just wanna know if OpManager supports "D-Link", "SMC", Netgear" Switches? soo long they support SNMP they are possible to monitor: -Traffic each ports -Status each ports and get the overview of the switch panel in the front with green and red lights for the status? I just ask since you only have Cisco, and 3Com names everywhere...
Opmanager 7100 - not collecting Memory and disk data
Helo to all, I�m having a problem on opmanager 7100, it is not collecting data for Memory and disk on all of my linux and windows servers. CPU works fine. Removing default Infrastructure views?
Is there a way in Op7 to remove some of the default infrastructure views? We aren't monitoring UPSes, Printers or desktops from Op7 so those views are just cluttering the front page.
Cannot clearn Alarms for SQL Cache Hit Ratio (build 7101)
I am unable to clear or delete alarms from my SQL server on the "Cache Hit Ratio". When I select the alarms and click delete or clear I just get a blank screen. I'd tried removing the alert, which keeps new alarms from being generated but I still can't clear out the old ones. This is on a fresh install, downloaded yesterday - build 7101.
Event Log Rules - Windows Server 2008
I need to add a new event log rule, that will look for an event on a windows 2008 server. however, in server2008 Event Viewer, MS has separated events from the traditional Application, Security, and System which still exists but they've added Custom Views\Server Roles\ and the event I want/need to alert on is under Server Roles.. Unable to monitor Unix Servers
Good day. I am unable to get the monitoring tools working on a Solaris 9 Unix Server. I have verified that the SNMP community string is named correctly. Also I am able to monitor Solaris 10 Unix Servers. Duplicate Interfaces since upgrade to version 7
Since our upgrade to OpMan 7, we've seen a number of devices (servers and switches) that have duplicate interfaces. They show the same Index number and description, and sometimes one will show the Tx stats, and the other will show the Rx stats. Rediscovering the Interfaces does not remove the duplicates. If we manually remove the 2 duplicated interfaces, and rediscover, only one gets added back. We've customized the display names on the switches (some have hundreds of ports), so I'd rather not have
Monitoring directory
Can OpManager v7 monitor a directory on a network and determine if (one or more) files are placed in that directory. Two requirements 1. We have an application that writes errorfiles to a directory and we need to trigger an event as soon as a file is placed there. 2. Our second application writes files to a directory that are then emailed - however we need to monitor the number of files and trigger when the file count exceeds a threshold. Currently we monitor these two directories using a XP-CMD
Resource monitors are showing 0% while monitored using CLI

Top 3 processes in memory threshold email are incorrect
Example: Title Attention - the-server-name Message Message: Memory Utilization is 98%, threshold value for this monitor is 95%: Top 3 Processes:-services.exe - 1%;System Idle Process - 0%;System - 0% Device: the-server-name Mem usage is 98%, but the the top 3 processes only total 1% Is this a bug? I've also seen this with cpu threshold emails.
Maps sorting lost when Refreshing

issues changing backend from mysql to ms sql
