BUG: OM8 performance monitors dont work with mis-classified device
OM8, latest build. I added a custom Device Template for my PowerWare 9315 UPS (the default template for PowerWare UPS did not work). The device template works just fine, and I added the appropriate MIB file. To reproduce the bug: 1. Add a device via Admin -> Add Device 2. The device is added successfully but not classified properly (it puts it in Desktop) 3. Open the device page, change the vendor to "Eaton", Category to "UPS", and Type to "Powerware 9315" (which is the name of the custom device
corrupt data-dictionary
it appears my data-dictionary.xml file is corrupt again. almost all servers are missing, all views are missing, and monitoring is not working at all. unfortunately we found this out the hard way - we had several servers go down this weekend and we were not alerted and noticed opmanager stopped working again. we have had data-dictionary corrupt before and at least 4 times in the past opmanager will just "lose" everything we have worked so hard to configure. i dont know if our situation is unique,

SNMP Monitoring (Disk, Fan etc Failures)
The ability to monitor the status of hardware using snmp by monitoring the status of the device. Normally if the device is ok it's normally set to 2. This was we can monitor individual components of the system instead of using SNMP Traps which is a bit of a pain.
Linux op manager init script
Is there supposed to be an init script for the linux version of opmanager, I can't seem to find any rc's, or init's in the package. I can run it properly from an interactive console, but I'd prefer to not have to leave a console open to run the software.

Hi, I'm trying to setup a custom monitor to get me the partition details for my netapp equipment. I've created the custom monitor using the SNMP OID (.1.3.6.1.4.1.789.1.5.4.1.6) which correctly gets me the values for the Percentage Disk Free for each of the file systems on the server. However I cannot figure out how to tell Op Manager to use the OID (.1.3.6.1.4.1.789.1.5.4.1.2) as the reference for the name of the associated file system. Disc not appearing
Hi I have 2 W2K servers operating as a cluster, and they are being monitored through their virtual IP. When I try to monitor the disc space, all the discs appear except 1 of them, which happens to be the most critical disc. Any ideas why this is happening?
Detail Interface Information Not Show in OpManager 8
In OpManager 7, IP address would be shown in the interface detail information. After I upgrade to OpManager 8, the interface's IP address would not shown up anymore! Instead, it is showing the MAC address! Anyone has idea how to correct this issue? :?:

I have a couple of hosts that are critical to our automation system and would like to monitor them more closely. I would like to PING them every 5 secs. but I can't see a way to change the interval on the host. Any comments?

Webalarm usage
Is the Webalarm audio feature only for the Admin account? I cannot make it work under either a new Read only or Full permission account. I need it to work in a Network Operations center where certainly a read only account has to be used.

Does Webalarm only work for the Admin Account? I need this to work a Read only account, as the Read only login is used for Network Operations. I don't want to give the NOC the Admin account, but the audio alerts are their benefit.
Setting up for the first time
Hi, I'm setting up OpManager here for the first time and seem to be getting some strange behaviour. 1. I have added 2 URL monitors and while they show up on the Infrastructure Snapshot, they do not appear under the URL monitors and so I can't edit/delete the ones I have already added 2. I have added 2 firewalls and again, they show up in the Infrastructure Snapshot, but they do not show under Firewalls - if I chage it to 'List View' in the firewalls section they do appear there. Am I just using this
Problem with re-assigning device to another infrastructure view
Hello, i am using OPManager 8.00 version 8006 with a MSSQL 2005 64bit database (Backend). When i create a device, it adds the device to the desktops infrastructure view. If i edit the device and assign it to the server infrstucture view i get the following error: Status Message: Unable to find the object: Name of the server I get the same error when i add the device directly from the Servers infrastructure view.

Discovery error
We have build 8 We have a server that op manager is reporting as being unreachable. However, we can ssh to this box from the op manager server and have verified all firewalls are open. When we run a manual mib test to this server IP from the mib browser, it returns data, but Opmanager reports that the server is uncontactable each time we attempt to add it as a device. please advise
device snapshot pages are disappearing.
Sporadically device snapshot pages are disappearing, when clicking on the device link and going to snapshot view, the only thing displayed is a blank page. Thank you for your assistance!
Interface Bandwidth shows wrong value
Hello! I am monitoring some VM Machines with different OS (Windows 2003 and Linux). The ESX Server has a 1G port. Regarding the windows machines I see the correct Interface Bandwith with 1Gbps. But when the OS is Linux then the value is only 10Mbps and due to this problem the traffic graph becomes incorrect, too. Can you help me fixing this bug? Kind regards, Mok

Hello all! I have added laptops and desktops and when they are powered off I get a ton of "Device Down: No response from device for last 5 polls ". How can I stop this from reporting powered off machines, but still have it monitor resources and event logs? Thanks in advance!

Notification Severity
We have noticed an issue in which we do not receive notifications that I would expect to receive. We have OpManager set to send email notification in the event that one poll (ping) is missed. We do receive this email notification. The problem that we are experiencing is that no notification is sent at 3 missed polls or 5 missed polls. I would expect OpManager to send a follow up email at the 3 missed and 5 missed thresholds considering this would indicate a "critical" status. I checked the notification
Custom Switch Interface SNMP Alert Message
I've renamed the interfaces for the switches configured in OpManager 7 (Build 7025), however, whenever I get an SNMP Alert about an interface going up/down, it uses the ifDescr field instead of the Display Name that I've added. I can modify the details of the Alert, but it does not appear to include any field where I can display the Interface Description that I've added. Is there anyway to customize the SNMP Message that is sent in that email? Or is there any other way for me to get that Display

Discovery Problem!
I can manually Add the device and can even ping to it. I even made the relevant changes from false to true to the Discovery.properties file. Still can't make the error(the devices in the specified range is not active ) to go away whenever i try to add it by the use of .csv file. Can you guys please help me?
