Import / export device templates
How can I export a device template out of OpManager 8 and then use that export file to import into another instance on OpManager 8? Thanks.

Under server monitors for the Exchange monitors there's a service name "MS Exchange SNMP" monitor and in the description it reads "Simple Management Trasfer Protocol service." It should read Simple Mail Transfer Protocol.
Dashboard and Backup Problem
Hi Guys, I have a problem with my dashboard - Availability Distribution. I believe that OpManager Database is corrupted because the graphics only show me some information if I select more than 7 days. I tried to stop OpManager and run repairDB.bat and start the opmanager again, but didn´t work . Other problem is when I try to do backup of Data Base. The backup doesn’t do any progress and return the following error in the log file: java.sql.SQLException: General error, message from server:
Server Availability Monitor
Hi, When I look at any of our servers the "Availiability" Monitor is blue and when I click on it , it says "Not Monitored. What is going on and how can it be fixed please ? Regards Scott.
notification profiles with multiple dependencies
Hello, is it possible to use notification profiles with multiple dependencies? For example: a UPS perfomes self-test once a month. While self test UPS charge decrease to 70% (f.e.). The UPS sends a Trap "self-test passed" to OPManager if self-test is ok. I want to get a notification for low UPS charge only if within 5 mins of first "low alarm" no trap "self test passed" for this device occurs. thanks for responce

Incoming SMS
we are currently sending alert SMS text messages to a list of predefined mobile numbers and the sending works very well (using a serial port attached nokia phone) i want to know if there is a way that a receiving sender can reply on the message and have opmanager do certain things EG, SMS is sent that the squidNT service is down on server bla-bla.wow.com user replies to this message: "restart service squidnt bla-bla.wow.com" and opmanager then restarts the service on server bla-bla.wow.com
Shortcuts Exhausted
Hi, I get an error meessage when trying to add a shortcut to a map: "requires more than 1 business views or shortcuts exhausted" I have 4 business views, so it�s not the first option. Any ideas?
IfAlias: is it updated when changed on device?
We made some tests changing the interface description on router (Cisco router). We noticed NO change in the interface description, but deleting the interface. Questions: 1) Do OpManager poll interface for changing at fixed/configurable times? 2) Can we force a re-mapping with ifAlias? Regards. L
filtering SNMP
I receive multipls SNMP traps from a software package where many different messages use the same OID. A lot of these messages are meaningless, is there any way for me to filter them out based on a string match inside teh SNMP message?
OpManager variable for IP Address
Hello All, Does anyone know what the variable is for the host IP address? For example, the mesasge is $message and time is $strModTime. I would like to include the host's IP address in emails and SMS messages. Thanks in advance, LeRoy
Number of polls before device down alarm
Hi all. We performed some tests aout how node down (device down) alarms are generate in OpManager 8. Technology is Cisco (the most standard one). We unplugged a managed Cisco router (2800) from network. We found out that (having a 5 minute poll configured for router), after several minutes (much more than 15) we did not have any alarm generated. Anyone experienced such behaviour? Anyone knows how many polls are done before setting up a router as down? Appreciated any help, 'cause it's a urgent matter.

I'm sure you have heard quite a bit from your user base but I am wondering given the free availability of VMware ESXi are you looking into utilizing their VI API in order to manage VMware servers more indepthly? Issues with Version 8
First off I can't say enough about how well the previous version have worked. Today I upgrade to V 8 and upgraded the Myssql as the instructions state. The upgrades both say they upgraded with no issues however when I try to go into the web the interface I get the following error Oops looks like a few tables got corrupted. Don't worry.. Run RepairDB.bat from bin directory and restart the server. So I followed those instructions and did the repair (several times actually) and have stopped the services

I have OPmanager 8006 in spanish and cannot display some characters even in the home page of the aplication it shows "Contrase�a" instead of spanish word of password "contraseña".

Unable to use Remote Desktop link
Everything seems to be working fine in the Demo version I have a few clients systems that I am monitoring, everything looks great, BUT, the remote desktop option just gives me "error on page" when I try and use it. I am using IE7, with all default settings, on an XP Pro machine SP2. Also, is there any 3rd party Remote software/install that can be used with OpManager, as it would be handy to be able to click on and remote to share the users screen and not log them out.
Monitor URL on Non-default port
Hi I've had some problems setting up URL monitors in OpManager. I've got to the situation where I'm fairly certain external websites are monitored successfully, and most of our internal sites are monitored correctly also. However a handful of our internal sites are producing errors when I try to monitor them (The URL http://........ is down, Reason : Host Unavailable). Every one of these sites that produces the error seems to be running on a non-default port, and the site that is running on the
Performance Monitor: Per disk utilization

REdisvocer interface is not working on some devices
Hello, I tried to rediscover interface on server device where SNMP and WMI are working fine. When I ran rediscover in interface tab, it showed interface found, when select and click on add button, nothing is showed and message is interface added successfully. Searching French language add-on
Hello During the installation process of OpManager, several languages are proposed (English, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish) but not French language. And in fact I would like to use OpManager in French. So does someone know if there is an add-on or patch available to provide French language support to OpManager ? If no, is it plannified to develop such a patch ? If yes, when will it be available ? I'm having a horrible time trying to monitor Solaris 10 clients. The documentation for Solaris doesn't seem to work correctly. It seems to be geared towards Solaris 8/9. I'm also using SSH on the servers.

Issue when I tried to clear an alarm on a device
Hello, I got an issue when I tried to clear an alarm on a device Error message : webclient.fault.alarm.clear.status.failure The diffrence I can see on this alarm is there is a long Event History behind regarding other alarms I clared for the same device. Device Template's Problem

Hi, my ASA 5510 passed credentials test and shows CPU/Mem/Connection Count and Interfaces, but it does not show any traffic. Is there a way to configure this to show in Opmanager?
SMS server Settings
Hi, When experimenting with OpManager I filled the field PORT NUMBER in SMS Server Settings, although there is no modem what-so-ever connected to the server. Now OpManagr reports an alert "OpManager_SMS" about the moden being disconnected. I tried leaving the PORT NUMBER blank, but that is not accepted. How can I get rid of this alert ? Hope someone can help me with this.
Device Templates - Duplicate sysOIDs annoyance
Lets say I have a firewall device -- in my case, a ZyXel ZyWall 5. I want to add a new device template for it. When I query the device for the sysOID via the Device Template area, it says the device sysOID is already in use by a ZyAir B-1000 access point and will NOT allow me to add the ZyWall 5 as a device template, even though it is a completely different device -- it just happens to share the same sysOID. This is a design flaw in OM and should be changed to allow duplicate sysOIDs to be added,
