SNMP problem
I have a problem on SNMP. I have already activate the SNMP on the servers (Windows 2003) but still not detected by SNMP and not showing the monitoring details.. anyoe can help me what to do. Please help me.

OpManager support, We are running EE7104 and are getting the following error message. When I cilck on the "Central Data Folder Status" link, it says "Unable to find the object : Data_State_Central". Stop alerts on interfaces. How?
How do I get OPMan from triggering an alert each time a port on a switch goes down? I need to see when the entire swicth goes down but not evey interface or PC reboot. I get way to many alerts on switch ports. I am sure it is something easy but I just can't find it. Thank you
Netasq and Snapgear SG580 firewalls.
Hi... Just test and play with Opmanager v8. But i have a small problem. When im using Opmanager V7, Can view my Disk Utilization on Netasq firewall. But when using V8, I cant view it. Other monitoring running perfectly. Then i try using my 2nd firewall (Snapgear Sg580), Opmanager V7/8 cant view my Memory Utilization and Disk Utilization. Other monitoring running perfectly. Anyone can help me please. Thanks.
Traffic is not monitored
Hi! I have a problem with one of our Linux servers. No traffic is monitored there. The credentials work correct (SNMP and CLI). The port is shown as "available" but no other data will be collected. Performing a GET command on a folder in MibBrowser
Hi, I'm developing an SNMP Agent and I'm having some trouble when I perform a GET command over a folder. When I do that, OpManager seems to make about 2k requests to my SNMP agent always asking for the folder's OID instead of it's leaves' OIDs. So my question is: how can I make OpManager cycle through every leaf of a given folder? Thanks for your replies, Francisco.
Encrypted CLI authentication passwords
Hi! If I want to use CLI I always have to change the ssh configuration at my Linux systems. The PasswordAuthentication setting has to be set to yes (accepting clear passwords). In my opinion this isn't the right safety concept. It would be very nice to send CLI authentication passwords encrypted. Is that possible?? Kind regards, Mok
Performance monitors do not work all of a sudden
Hi all, we are using Opmanager for our customers, all of a sudden the performance monitors for a few customers - not all- stopped working. Cant load MIB from QNAP TS-509
Trying to upload a mib file I got from the manufacturer QNAP fot model TS-509. However, it cant be uploaded in the MIB Browser. It just says "Cant upload MIB". If i drop the mib file to the Opmanager server in folder Opmanager\mibs I can see it in the browser but I cant select it. Error message: Error parsing MIB:NAS.mib Exception while loading MIB:Could not parse the file C:/Program Files/AdventNet/ME/OpManager/./mibs/NAS.mib. discovery problems
I am testing opmanager, but discovery of my network is being more than cumbersome. using the Range method results in the system freezing unless i use a single range, i.e., 123.123.1.0 to 123.123.1.254. I use the correct netmask, thanks for asking. If i use an extended range, 123.123.1.1 to 123.123.10.254, the system hangs after a percentage if discovery. Error on replicated OpManager Windows Server
Hi. I'm trying to get my OpManager service separated from other services (which is my normal routine). For a while, I've had my OpManager running on a server which also has other things runnign on it. So, I replicated the Windows server on which I am running OpManager so that I could have it on a server of its own. Of course, I renamed the Windows server, gave it a new SID and IP and did everything else necessary for it to be a completely separate server. I then shut down the service on the original

Adding event log rules into templates
I'm pretty new to OpManager and I can see where I can set indivual devices to alert on certain event logs, but can not see how to add it to a template. As we want to be able to monitor for a certain event id's across the 100 odd windows 2003 servers we currently have already using the windows 2003 template. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi, I am using OpManager 8.22 that I am currently customizing by adding templates for our own HW. I have been reading the forum now for several days to try to enable the CPU utilization graph for this custom devices. This is what I have done so far: 1. Created new category - RLSgroup 2. Created a new device template - SatLink RLS-85XX - inserted in the RLSgroup category 3. Added monitors to the SatLink RLS-85XX device template. Verified that the monitors are working correctly. Hello. We have noticed that our .err file in the mysql\data folder is growing quite large. At the moment it is over 1GB in size. Is there a way to reduce or remove this file? We also have a lot of relay.bin.00xxx file. Can i stop the server from producing these files?

How is memory utilisation calculated?
I have a Windows 2003 server with a registered usage of 91%, but pulling up the process list from OpManager shows processes using only 6% of the available memory. Is OpManager including file cache in its overall count, or is it counting total memory for the percentage different from how it calculates per process usage? The current warning I am seeing for example: Memory Utilization is 87%, threshold value for this monitor is 80%: Top 3 Processes:-sqlservr.exe - 3%;Mcshield.exe - 2%;FrameworkService.exe
File size monitoring
I know I've seen it discussed in the past and it's been stated that it's an upcoming feature, but do you have any updates on the file size monitoring capabilities for OpManager? I have a situation in which it would be very useful to be able to trend a log file size. Obviously its easy enough to do via other means, but it would be nice if OpManager was able to do it.

opmanager ee build 7104 upgrade to build 7500 probe error
probes are not automatically updating like the instructions say they will and they have not connected in over 4 hrs. bandwidth is not an issue because the probe and central server are on the same subnet in the same building.

Windows (Dos) script for nightly backup giving error

When I run the following commands, the BackupDB_Mysql -destination command results in ".\setEnv.bat is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. SQL Cache Memory Alarm
Hi, I am trying to work out the correct thresholds for the alarms for our DB servers. One alarm that has been occuring on a couple servers lately is the SQL Cache Memory, it appears to have a default setting of 2048 KB. I am trying to find out more information on this counter and have found out that SQL Cache Memory is responsible for reserving memory for dynamic SQL statements, I havent been able to find out anything on recommended levels, how to modify the levels or how SQL Server sets this level.

Report Differences
We currently am using OpManager to produce disk utilization reports for several of our servers but we have noticed a few discrepancies from report to report. I have a Top 25 Utilization report and I also run a Disk Space Available report. For one of our servers, the Utilization report shows 86% used space on the C: drive, while the Disk Space Available report is showing 90%. Why would it reporting two different numbers for the same drive?
Modifying the Content of a widget
Is it possible to modify the content of a Widget on the Dashboard e.g. it has three columns Name, Status, Type if you could edit so it only displayed Name, Status this would save space and allow more info on the screen
Allow dashboard columns to be less than 100%
Hi, when I choose 3 columns on my widget dashboard, the columns go way off the screen because it's too wide. For some reason the dashboard does not size itself to fit in the current browser window. I tried to set the columns to something like 20%, 20%, 20%, but I get an error that it must be a total of 100%. Any way we can dynamically resize the columns, so they can fit in smaller browser windows?
