Can opmanager be used as security event reporting
We are currently using a 3rd party tool not related to opmanager which collects the windows security event log so we can report on which user has logged on at what time and on which devices. Is it possible to have opmanager be used as audit survey for specific events like logons ?

Is it possible to create a report in OPmanager that shows Windows Events(error, warning...) and also includes the person who acknowledged or cleard the alarm? What about added Notes, can I find it anywhere exept on the alarm page?

CPU Utilization of VM
I am using Opmgr build 8052, Windows 2003 Sp2. I have added the ESX host (3.5) and try to test the monitor "CPU Utilization by VM" and it always returns "Error". There is no data for "Memory used by VM" either. I am using SNMP and CLI SSH to connect. Thanks.
Downtime schedule not saved
Hi all, I have a small question about the downtime scheduler. Our network supplier sends us maintenance notifications two weeks in advance. I would like to schedule some downtime for the affected location to prevent all the alerts being send when the connection is lost for a few minutes due to work being done on the line/router. When I enter all data in the downtime scheduler and click on save nothing is saved. No messages pop up. I'm returned to the downtime schedule overview that is empty.
OpManager not discovering devices
Just installed OpManager, went to discover devices and it just sits there at 0% completed forever. Tried several times. I'm able to add devices manually and they are monitored correctly from then on, but it will not go out and automatically discover. Any ideas? Can't find any errors in any log files. Thanks.

Hi, I use the RSS feed to Opmanager forum for a while now and it works fine, but since this morning, I recieve feeds from all the forums, instead of only the Opmanager one, I looked for a few others feed and they now all return every forums, not only the specific one, as an example, http://forums.manageengine.com/opmanager/feed gives the same thing than http://forums.manageengine.com/desktop-central/feed or http://forums.manageengine.com/servicedesk-plus/report/feed I post it here
Error parsing MIB:ALTEON-ROOT-MIB.mib

snmp trap mib browser
At the moment it is not working well browsing through mibs when searching for snmp traps to be added. It would be nice if the sorting and search options would be extended. Like sorting on alfabet, a choice to display 5, 10, 20 or 50 mibs on a screen. Can this be picked up ?
Windows Service Monitoring is showing the wrong executable
Is there a way to delete a Windows service as being remembered? So it does not show up when I go to add monitor from the device snapshot page. Here's an example of my problem. I was originally monitoring a windows service named "WebApp" that was run by executable "WebApp.exe". After performing an update to the application that runs this service the name is still "WebApp" but the executable is now "WebApplication.exe". WAN RTT - strange number of tests
Hi, I installed the OpManager 8070 demo. I configured a Cisco 3800 to run IP SLA tests. Then I configured 5 WAN RTT tests. The strange thing is that the number of columns is different test to test. I mean, each test should have the same number of graph points, but this is not true. See the attached screen-shots. What should be the problem? Thanks, Roberto D.

Hi, I'm working on "resetting" my whole opmanager setup by installing on a new server, I'm creating a complete new Opmanager setup from scratch on a new MSSQL Server. I created a new "normal" setup with the default database, wich will be my next production Opmanager. I created a second opmanager database on the same server but the apps files are on a Virtual PC, on wich I plant to test the things I do instead of testing on the production server, so I dont get stuck with test values

AD/SQL/Exchange templates
Hi, I've just started using OpManager and I've got a couple of questions that hopefully someone can help with. Our environment has around 20 DCs, 25 Exchange servers and a few SQL servers. I'd like to be able to globally set the AD and Exchange monitors & thresholds, similar to how you can configure device templates. Can this be done, or do I need to manually edit each individual AD/Exchange server? Also, while trying to set up notification profiles, if I select all my DCs and add a notification

Why are snapshot and realtime graphs exactly 1 hour off?
I noticed that the traffic graphs under interface details as well as real-time graphs are exactly one hour behind the current time. Does that mean that notifications are 1 hour off as well? Is there a reason for this? Thanks. -James
Unable to install Netflow Analyzer plug-in
We are trying to evaluate the NetFlow Analyzer plugin for OpManager. After installing Netflow Analyzer plug-in for Opmanager and copying bcp.exe and bcp.rll into the NetFlow/bin directory. OpManager errors out with a few tables have become corrupt message upon restart. Running repairdb does not resolve the issue. Opmanager build 8052 and NetFlow Analyzer plug-in version 7700 Your help would be greatly appreciated. Rob

Monitor ESX 3.5 SSH - Did not receive identification string
I am trying to monitor an ESX 3.5 host using SSH on Opmgr build 8052. This error is on the ESX host: Jun 22 11:57:10 servername sshd[27815]: Did not receive identification string from ip address. I have not found a solution anywhere in the forums for this issue.
Problem with recording "Device Notes"
Please, help investigate the following problem. After recording all data on the device in the "device notes", they are saved. But after a page refresh (update status, etc) all data in this section is missing. In what could be the problem?
Multiple threshold for alerting at different levels
We need to be able to alert based on more than one threshold. Example: Alert if disk is 85% full and send an email and then a second alert if disk is 90% full and send an SMS. Does anyone know if this is possible with OpManager? We are running build 8024 currently.
Cisco Routers OpManager Interface View - Errors "Not Enabled"
Hi Everyone, Just a very quick questions. I have SNMP setup on my Cisco 2800 routers and they are reporting fine. I would like to enable the errors view as we are having a lot of errors on some of our interfaces and I want to be able to monitor it. Whats the best way to set this up. Slow smtp alerts
I've noticed that the smtp alerts are quiet slow to notify. I may have a device that is being polled every minute, but it can take anywhere from 5-30mins to receive the notification. This can be anonying when the issue is delt with, and the alert turns up 10 mins later. I've checked our smtp relay, no issues there, is there something I missed. The monitoring interval for the server and the router i'm trialling it agaist is set to 1 min. The notification profile is set to alert if the device misses

Hi, What can we check to know why AIX servers are not monitored in OpManager. Only the availability is monitored. Are there issues with regards to versions of AIX servers? We have 51 & 5.3 versions of AIX. We also have solaris 5.3. Thanks in advance.
Default setting for Linkup, Linkdown SNMP Traps
Hi I was playing with the Trap processor and have made a mistake somewhere. I'm refering to the version 1 traps. I was trying to get it so I could just see the interface name. At the moment I have this in the Linkup and LinkDown Interface Down:$*$SourceMO(sysDescr)$SourceMO(sysOID) $SourceMO(sysName) AND Interface UP:$*$SourceMO(sysDescr)$SourceMO(sysOID) $SourceMO(sysName) These don't give me what I want I just get the following for link down. In IBM-AIX device, couldn't get the memory utilization using HOST-RESOURCE.MIB
Dear all, I use recent version of OPM. (8052) In IBM-AIX device, I couldn't get the memory utilization using Host-resource.mib. We have use default SNMP of IBM-AIX. That is to say, we don't use Net-SNMP. In default SNMP, we couldn't get them memory utilization. But we could get the CPU & DISK Utilization. How to solve it? When we use CLI, work's fine!
