File & Folder Monitoring Not working
Hi I've installed Opmanager build 8720 . Everything is working fine except File & Folder monitoring. Is it a bug or there is something I can do to enable it. Thanks
SNMP Table Issue
I'm trying to add 3 monitors to monitor the load on an APC PDU these are 3 phase power units therefore there are 3 values i want to look at. if i look at OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.12.2.3.1 in the Power-net MIB i get a table of data for the three phases, if i dig down further into the table and use OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.12.2.3.1.1.2 i get a return of the following: rPDULoadStatusLoad.1:-->23 rPDULoadStatusLoad.2:-->19 rPDULoadStatusLoad.3:-->22 which is the load on each leg. Hello, I get the correct information for AIX CPU and DISK, but RAM is always zero. Can you attach a hostresource file with the correct format for the RAM command? I do not have root access. Is there a shorter command to run? Hi, I have these MIBs for my Sun 7210 Storage device, but I don't really know what to do with them. Do I upload them using the MIB Browser? Or do I copy them to the Opmanager\mibs directory? And once I do that, will Opman automatically recognize my device, or do I still have some configuring to do? I would like Opman to recognize the device when I add it, and also notify me of any traps that the device sends. I've attached the MIBs so you can include it into future releases..

How can we monitor a Netgear Ready NAS NVX Device? - SNMP-Settings are configured - access with MIB-Browser is possible - custom monitor is configured to OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.4526.18.7.1.6 (VolumeFreediskspace) - device is visible in OPManager - Testings with Custom-Monitor not successfull (The Monitor did not respond to the test request) what vendor, category and Type should we take for this NAS-Device? what Credential-Type should we take for Monitoring NAS (CLI or WMI)? best Regards and thanks

Good day I can't insert the value of SNMP community. On our network employs about 300 network devices. SNMP community = alanet + *. Inserting the value "alanet + *" in the "Admin"> "Credential Settings"> "Credential Library". CPU not able to be monitored.
Hi All, I have got this tool into our organization recently amd i am new to use it. I have some clarification while adding a server and adding it to be monitored for CPU utilization. when i click on the add monitor and if i add disk,CPU and memory utilization i can see only disk and memory utilization but not able to see CPU being monitored. BlackBerry Server Monitoring
I know the question has been asked here but I didn't see much of a good answer. I am evaluating OpManager for a client and they would like BES Monitoring as well; when I discovered the server, it did not "add" BES as a service so I assume this is not "out of the box". Netflow plugin
I set up a router to export flows before I added the snmp community string to the config. So the router name is showing as the IP address and the interface names are IfIndex1 and IfIndex5 while viewing in the Netflow plugin. I added the snmp string to the router config, and discovered the router in OpManager. The interface and router names appear fine in OpManager, but they still show up as IP address, IfIndex1, IfIndex5 in the Netflow plugin. I want the descriptive names in both OpManager

CPU utilization alarms on multi-core processors
Since we upgraded to the most recent version of OpManager (8.7, I believe), CPU utilization alarms are sent for each processor core, so I'm getting 8 alarms for a server with two quad-core processors. The previous version just sent an alarm based on the aggregate utilization for all CPUs on the server. Is this configurable in the new version to revert back to the previous way of sending one alert?
Business View Restrictions
When I create a read-only user and restrict them to a specific business view (which we use to allow our hosting customers to see the status of their devices), I can still see links at the top right of the page such as: About (shows our company name and license details -- I don't want a customer knowing these) Register (allows them to upload a new registration file -- I do NOT want this to happen!) So, how can I stop those links from showing up when it is a "restricted" user?
Virtual Devices under Infrastructure Snapshot - cannot be found
Hello, Using OPmgr 8720 with the Vmware add-on. Under infrastructure snapshot, it shows 9 Virtual devices, but I can't find them anywhere. They are not in the Top VM's or All Devices lists. When I change a server to a virtual device, it adds to the total of virtual devices, but still doesn't show up anywhere. I have uploaded the logs. Thanks.
How do I add custom PNG objects to my Map View?
Hi While setting up my MAP view I wanted to show my Cisco3750 switch, but the only PNG available is the Cisco 3200.png Is there a way to get more devices (cisco 3750) so my map view is accurate? If so, how does one go about adding it. Thank you Jim

Exchange 2007 - Setting up Exchange Mail Store Monitors ??
Hi, We are evaluating Opmanager 7, SP1 and are having some element of trouble configuring our Exchange 2007 servers to provide Exchange monitoring data. I should say, we are using Exchange 2007 in a clustered environment, I do not know if this makes a difference. After selecting Exchange Store monitors and hitting add, it asks for exchange server's information store details. We try entering all manner of data, and it is not accepted. Two Domains - X Domain PC's Scan with WMI, Y Domain PC's show no info using WMI
Hi, Before you ask, yes I have created two sets of credentials for X & Y Domain. Basically, I have X.domain.co.uk & Y.domain.co.uk Opmanager is sitting on a 2K8 Box on the X Domain. Windows machines on the X Domain scan ok without issue, and report back CPU and memory usage etc. Windows machines on the Y Domain scan ok but do not report back anything except ICMP, even though when using the credential check WMI passes fine. Widgets displaying No Data Available.
This is occuring on Dashboards where we have several widgets loading. I can reload the widget and get data some times, but as it refreshes, some of them revert to "No Data Available" while others display and on the next refresh, a different set may show data that did not previously while those that did now stop. SMS Setup
I am looking at setting up SMS notifications in the event we lose our primary connectivity but can't seem to find a whole lot of information on this. My primary questions are.... 1. We use Verizon for cell connectivity (cdma) and all the sms modems I see are gsm which I understand to not be compatible, how are others doing this without having to go to completely new carrier? 2 Can you somehow use a phone as a modem for this? Get a daily All clear SMS
Hi We have an isolated system that is not connected to the internet at all. I have connected an SMS modem and are getting SMS's when devices go down. However, if there is a problem with the SMS system or maybe the GSM network, we do not get the SMS's and only when users call us, we know there is a problem. Is there some way that I can configure a dayly SMS to be send, say at 20:00 in the evening, to say that all devices are up? Some sort of status update. I need to send this to my NOC and manager.
Add text to outbound message
We monitor a number of Windows Event Logs and we have instructions on how address specific problems. Sometimes we would just want to link to a Service Desk Solution document. Currently the only information we get from a monitored Windows Event Log Alert is the alert message itself. Any chance a feature could be added to associate 512 bytes of text with alerts? Thanks
[Business view] - 0% Traffic map / IE unscrollable X axis
Hi, I just wanted to point out that when using the business view traffic map, when a link has 0% traffic, the link is grayed out, as "-NA-", whereas it should be darkblue, according to the legend. Since -NA- should mean that the port is down. I'd like to mention too that in Internet Explorer (7 and 8), when a background image is wider than the browser window, the horizontal scroll bar does not appear, and the legend is not viewable, nor anything that could be placed beyond the visible

Hi, I looked to setup my Opmanager Dashboards on a dual screen setup, I set 2 columns, 50% and it looks neat... However, when I extend my IE window to the second monitor, the content of the widget does not scale, but the "draggable" box does. Could this be fixed ? I attached a snapshot of the behavior. All of the graphs in statistics intervals are behind by one hour. I'm running OpManager 7 Distributed Edition build number: 7502 I saw a couple of things about java time, but the jre that ships w/ OpManager 7 is: java version "1.5.0_11" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_11-b03) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_11-b03, mixed mode) and I thought that the tzupdater is problematic only for java 1.4. OpManager 7 and interface oper status
Is there a way to have OpManager only notify if an interface goes that that was previously up? For instance, I have 48 port switch, 25 ports are in use, the others are just waiting for client PCs (admin up, line proto down). OpManager alerts me about the down interfaces. Can I ask it to only alert me if the interface was up/up previously? Thanks. -Scrib

I'm testing OpManager build 8720. I made a new device template in order to manage my Nokia IP390 firewalls.. I loaded into OpManager server the right MIBs (Nokia & Checkpoint) When I try to query an IP390 by internal OpManager's MIB Browser, for and OID specific string, it returns an expected value.. But when I create a new custom monitor (such as the one called "HA Active/Passive" showed in the attahced doc ), this will not included in my Device Snapshot!! Also integer SNMP variables gives back

Hi - I keep getting the following error message when I try to add an ESX host: Failed to connect to the webservice (Device Name/Credentials are wrong) 1) the web service is running on the esx server 2) I've verified the credentials a number of times 3) I've tried to add it both by name and IP 4) I've personally logged on to the web service to verify that it was running and that the credentials are correct any help would be appreciated - Thanks

Seperate Arguments for Interface and Interface Problem Type
I am trying to setup OpManager to pass SNMP traps to a remote system based upon different alarm types. The way the notification profiles can be assigned to a device is that they are assigned to all interfaces or to a set of interfaces but there is no seperation for errors, discards, status, and utilization that I see. I was wondering if there was some variable that could be added to the notification profile to lookup the interface that is having the problem and which of the interface problem types
Device is not reachable, but can ping and walk mib.
I have eight of these devices added, but when I try to add this one it tells me that it is not reachable. I can ping it from the OpManager server and use the mib tool to walk the mib, so it is there and accessible. I have tried adding it by IP and by host name with the same result. Where should I start to troubleshoot this? Thanks

Pues basicamente lo que intento hacer es realizar un telnet por el puerto 500 a sierto dispositivo ya que este solo puede ser visible de esa manera por motivos de seguridad...nisiquiera un ping es posible..... no se si con OpManager se pueda lograr esto. Muchas gracias de antemano!.
