Hello, we try to build Business Views where we can drill down from WORLD --> EUROPE --> GERMANY --> LOCATION --> SERVERROOM --> RACK --> DEVICE So far we had no real problems with that, but at the RACK-View we tried to visualise the Rack and the Devices in the Rack as a background image and then to add the devices to the view for showing the status of devices in the Rack. The Icons that we can place on the view for each device is to large and the Device-Name is always displayed underneeth the status-Symbol.
Active Directory
Hi, We are a licensed user of OpManager 8, and have a license for adding an additional user. How do we add a user account from our Active Directory domain? I do NOT mean: create an account within OpManager using the same credentials as AD, but rather pull the actual domain credentials from the DC's. Can you help with this? Thanks.
Upgrading from free version to licenced version
Hello, Currently I am doing a proof of concept for OpManager using the free version (I chose to use the free version as I didn't know if I would be able to complete the proof of concept within the 30 day trial period for the other version). All is looking pretty good actually; which got me wondering whether there is any issue with migrating from the free version to a licenced copy? Is it something as simple as adding in a registration key, or will I need to go through and reconfigure everything
CLI Credentials Failure

Bulk updates
Is there a way in Opmanager, say on a Switch to update all of the Interfaces at once, say all the monitors? For example, i want to increase all of my utilization limits on all my cisco 48 port switches to 75% from 30%. i have about 5, 48 port switches. I shouldn't have to go in to every port, and set this there should be a bulk process. How do i accomplish this? Also same thing on notifications, Is there a way to bulk add notifiers? if i have them defined why do i have to add only one at a

Monitor Active Session Count in Cisco 881W
We would like to setup a monitor for a Cisco 881W device which is an all-in-one router-firewall-WAP. Ours currently has a license count of 10 and we had a situation the other day where about 15 users were trying to gain access and some could not gain access because of the license issues. We would like to monitor it so when we get calls that we already had an alert via email, so we can tell our customer they are hitting the license issue or to get more licenses. Monitoring periods showing incorrectly onscreen/PDF/Excel
There seems to be a bug with the period OpManager monitors - when running an onscreen report for last month (September 1st 00:00hrs to October 1st 00:00hrs) I get.... How to change OP report link host name
hi, I have a question with the host name of OP report. Now, I am using OP 7.0 and my OP server name is:abc.efg.com I created some scheduled reports in the OP system and receive notification email everyday. the problem is: the report link in the email message always is : http://abc:port/admin/show........ can I change the link to http://abc.efg.com:port/admin/show/.....? I want the link included my server network full name because I am using MAC. Thanks Edwin

Cisco Ironport support?
Hi, We still cannot monitor Ironport devices. We have two appliances: email: Ironport C150 and web: Ironport S650. I added the MIB files from Ironport site but no success...I can only see the interfaces but nothing else. I manually added the monitors from the MIB browser but I didn't receive any data. Are there any Device Templates to add into the Opmanager? Regards,
Opmanager Monitoring issues
We are having troubles with monitoring Interface details on Windows Server 2008 systems that run on a XEN host. We have them set up with the Citrix PV driver for their network, and can view live data, but all of the Win 2K8 servers lack any data in the "Traffic - Today", "Errors and Discards - Today" et al graphs from the Interface details. We have Win 2K3 servers running on the same XEN hosts with the Citrix PV driver for 2K3, and get graphed data for them. Thanks Jason Meyers

Hello, Is it at all possible to have a graduated system where it is possible to define a server to go through a number of steps progressivly changing it's status/colour until it hits the notification. For example: CPU threshold 0-55% = Normal (green) >55-70% = Trouble (yellow) >70%-80% = Warning (orange) >80% = Critical (red); send notification Rather than just having one threshold where the server is fine and then all of a sudden out of no where it is critical as it reaches the threshold
WMI Buffer Cache Hit Ratio not being added
Hello, I am trying to add a new WMI Performance counter to our SQL Server in Opmanager. There is no counter added after selecting Add WMI Monitor -> SQLServer:Buffer Manager -> then putting a check/tick in Buffer Cache Hit Ratio -> then clicking on OK My WMI/SNMP credentials are all setup well, and all pass the 'test'. Where do you get your device graphics from?
Hi All I have seen some very fine network diagrams and rack diagrams from users of OpManager, could you tell me where you got your graphics (png or jpg) files from. I have Visio with all the Del and HPl graphics and Rack graphics but I can't find anywhere that does them in jpg format? Thanks in advance for any info. Eric

Opmanager Installation Enhancements
Hi A couple of observations from our recent installation of Opmanager. Would it be possible to add the following options to the installation process: 1. Select the Installation location of the Database and Opmanager application. This way the database can be on a seperate disk to the Opmanager application 2. Ability to decide\select\create an account that will be used to access the Database. 3. The ability to change the Root password to comply with security requirements of an establishment.
Dashboard overview for users that are limited to a business view

Opmanager - Folder Monitor, check for Modified time
As the subject line states, am looking for a folder monitor that just checks the modified time. My threshold would be set for older or equal to 2 hours. If items changes within the folder have not taken place within that 2 hour time frame I would configure an alert be sent to application support team. By the way, it was at our application maintenace team's request, that this type of monitoring be used. Currently with opmanager I just can't think of a way to do it. Thank you

Good evening, I have a Cisco switch with 100 switchports. The description on these ports changes. How can i reindex them to update the description. If i do a rediscovery it does not notice that those ports have changed. Thanks in advance, i am very much looking for a solution. -sean

How do you assign mtce past midnight, OpManager insists that 00:30 is wrong it the start period is 23:00 The best you can manage is 23:00 to 23:45, then 00:00 onwards, leaving a gap of 15 mins
ESXi Host - Unable to fetch Managed Object details for the object
Hi, I've seen the above error mentioned a few times on the forums but I haven't been able to resolve it so far. I was importing a new ESXi host into OpManager and while it was in progress my colleague decided to restart the OpManager server. Now the host that I added doesn't appear in any views but if I try to add it I get a message saying that it already exists. And if I search for it I get the error message - Unable to fetch Managed Object details for the object: <servername> Please can anybody
Templates and OID's
We are in the last throws of evaluating OPManager with a view to implementing it within the next two weeks and have a couple of questions. 1. When we create a Device Templates for particular devices we enter the OID we want queried, but how does the response tie in with the OID. For example: OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.3845.3.1.1.1.1 This should return either 0 : Metaframe Application Server or other : Unknown How does the template interpret the OID response. Is it simply looking for that OID on
Tables in Reports dont show all data when printed
When printing a "At a Glance Report" generated on the information stored about a Switch, the "Display Name" of each Port is not fully displayed. There appears to be no way of expanding the column so that when the report is printed the full details can be seen. How can this be achieved ?
Can I change the domain of a server device?
Our company was purchased and we had to migrate all of our servers from one domain to another. So my question is how can I change the domain of all of our servers in OpManager? The "Rediscover Now" action appears to work and it shows the correct IP address. However, the credentials for the new domain fail so our monitoring no longer works. One strange thing I noticed is that the "Asset Details" shows the device name with the old domain! The only way we've found to get around this problem is to delete
Sort by Columns
I would like to propose a minor enhancement to Opmanager. Where ever columns are used to display data, can they be made "sortable". In the attached screen shot of the Downtime Schedules, the column headers are static. It would be really good if they could be made "sortable" so that you can organise the view by Name, Status, Type etc. This would be ideal if this was the default for all views of this sort. thanks
Business Snapshot view is a joke
When I created this, it looked like this: But in OpManager it ends up looking like this: I don't see how that is useful. All the server names are missing and it's ugly.
How to customize the Snapshot page?
I see several threads from 2008 and 2009 claiming you plan to implement this "in the future" but no solid road map for a seemingly necessary feature such as customizing the snapshot page. Has this feature been implemented yet? I'm amazed Op Manger seems to think that a one size fits all is sufficient for every client when this is clearly not the case. I do not wish "disk utilization" graphs on my snapshot page. How do I remove them and replace them with other monitors?

WMI Access
Hello, After getting the SNMP working, I am now struggling with getting WMI working. This is monitoring servers that are not part of a domain. I have installed Opmanager on one of these servers, and it can communicate fine with itself; ie WMI and SNMP all good. However when trying to connect to another server, the SNMP is working, however the WMI just keeps failing with Access Denied messages. Network Interfaces - No data
Hello, Is there something that I need to do in order for my network interfaces to have rx and tx data for them? I have discovered the card and they are both sitting there under the interfaces tab, however when I drill into each one all the data/graphs/etc that indicate the throughput are blank. If I use the MibBrowser I can retrieve information (for example ifOutOctets.11:-->441473950 ifOutOctets.12:-->3148583049) but nothing is showing up in OpManager when I go into the NIC. Any ideas?
Stop monitoring of network ports on mass
I would like to stop monitoring ports on our edge switches that are used for workstation connectivity and only monitor the uplink ports. Is there a way to perform this operation on mass as opposed to one port at a time via the port snapshot view?
ADP and OpManager Integration
We have noticed that even if we specify the sub-category in the notification parameters, it is not coming through into the SDP Call request. We are working around this by using business rules in SDP.
