I've seen the above error mentioned a few times on the forums but I haven't been able to resolve it so far.

I was importing a new ESXi host into OpManager and while it was in progress my colleague decided to restart the OpManager server.

Now the host that I added doesn't appear in any views but if I try to add it I get a message saying that it already exists.  And if I search for it I get the error message - Unable to fetch Managed Object details for the object: <servername>

Please can anybody help?

If it helps it is a standard install of build 8721 using the default MySQL database
