Issue with Run Command usage of Batch script
I have a batch script I've written to use snmpset to control switches on a remote PDU we are testing. I was hoping that I could use OpManager to run this batch when it detects a certain device down for a specific time frame. However, I have run into two issues with doing this. The first involved how OpManager was passing its arguments. If I run the batch script from Powershell, it works correctly with the arguments. Unwanted Alarms
Hello, We have a large number of cisco 3550 & 3560 switches, we cannot seem to turn off the "Ports Up/Port Down Alarms !!. We have turned off various snmp trap processors in admin, but this does not work !! What do we need to do to stop these alarms ? Regards Stephen

I have several TrippLite Smart Pro UPS that we are trying to monitor. Using SNMP, I have been able to monitor line voltage, giving me at least a notification when the power goes out. OpManager develpment keeps promising future support of these devices, but as of the build 8721, no go. I keep getting the alarm "errors rate for Interface eth0 is some%, threshhold...". The problem is, there is no interface listed under interfaces for these units. So I can change the monitoring or edit the threshholds
Disk Monitors? Linux or ESX?
Hello, I'm a little confused about using OPManager in the case where I have an ESX or Linux server. I'm not sure how to go about setting up, let's say, disk monitors. I'm using HP DL380 servers as ESX and one as Linux Openfiler and I'd like to be able to report if I have a disk failure in one of the RAID configs but I'm not sure how to go about this. Should I configure some kind of agent on these servers or is there something I can do directly with SNMP or SNMP traps. I'm a little new at OPManager
How to monitor hard disk status ?

WMI Window size too small

Why are there still rows in the database for servers that were deleted?
We've deleted several servers from OpManager that no longer need to be monitored. Even though the servers are no longer accessible from the interface, there are still rows in the ProfileCriteria and ThresholdRuleList tables that refer to these servers. Is there a reason why these rows still exist in the database? If not, do you have any utilities that can clean up the database? Thanks, Frank

Hello, I am just in the process of setting up a proof of concept for OpManager, and am having some issues with SNMP and WMI. I have installed OpManager and have setup one server within OpManager. This server is the same server that OpManager is installed on. This server has SNMP feature enabled. The server is Windows 2008 R2. at-a-glance interface reports
When i run the at-a-glance report on a gigabit switch interface the bytes per second cap out at 200k The Mbps show up accurately though at around 750 Mbps. Is there a way i can fix this.
Cannot change SQL db password in OpManager's db config file
Hi, Im trying to change the database password in OpManager's database configuration file to meet the change made in the SQL server, but im not able to do so as when im trying to save the change it says 'DB with this name already exists'. How to make this thing work. I tried renaming the DB name in SQL but then its not able to create a new DB. Faisal
Allow users access to dashboards
Hello, Running Opmgr 8721. Is it possible to give a read only user access to a specific dashboard? When I setup a RO only account and give him access to a business view, he is unable to see any dashboards. When I give him RO rights to all business views he can than see the dashboards. Issue when schduling a report unable to add separate email addresses.
Have scheduled a disk space report from the report itself but when adding multiple email addresses the report does not get sent. Also if you do this within the schdule report in adminstration it says enter valid email address even tho you have already enter 2 addresses correctly with a ; or ,.
alarm when an interface comes up
Hi, I couldn't find a way to set up a notification when an interface comes up. This is needed for ISDN backup interfaces, when the alert condition is when the interface is up. Any solution? Regards, Borut

Problem with time
Hi all, I have problem with time on received messages. Time on server is OK, but I get the message with one hour late. This is configuration in Notification Profile: This is mail message: Message: $message Device: $displayName Category: $category Error Condition: $stringseverity Generated at: $strModTime ----------> problem!!!!!!!!! $displayName IP Address: $DeviceField(ipAddress) $displayName For example, I get mail in 12:00, and the Generated time is 11:00!!! problems whit opmanager, server option.
hi working whit OpManager, inside the server option we have added some servers whit operating system win 2000 server, win 2003 server and Linux, the fact is that even though the servers have been dropped, the OpManager always identified as up. the test performed was to add these servers but as desktop and now if identify when dropped and when they are up. the OpManager will have some bug in the server section? or whats happen? thanks.

disk utilization
Hello I am running a version of Opmanager on my Network and it is monitoring about 12 servers. one of my servers has an alert for 100% disk utilization, but when checked the real utilization is only about 79%. i have checked the device assets to make sure the HD size is correct. I dont know what i need to do to make the opmanager read the correct used space... if you need info please let me know. ps. sorry if this is a double post but i cant see if my last post worked...

Change IP of monitored device
Hello, We have trouble with changing IP address of monitored device. It seems that changing IP in the device configuration has no effect at all. We found in the forum information that if device was added by IP not by name we have to delete it and add it again. Is that really correct? I can imagine that we would like to change IP of the device but not to lost all history of its availability? Maybe this is possible at database level? Good morning, We are having a error when we try to add some device in the OPManager software. This device in question was already added however was delete after. After this, we cannot add the device in OPManager because we receive the following error: “Entries for the device are either partially added or removed.Click [here...] to remove and readd the device”. Doing a little research on your site, we see that this is a problem that you already know, however the tool released for solution (RemoveBDentries.bat)

opmanager, vsphere 4.1 and disk performance
Hi, we're testing how opmanager manage performance counter on vsphere 4.1 and we have a little problem. Our infrastructure is all on ESX 4.1 with Datastore on NetApp NFS shares. On the host performance of the esx server and on vm on that host we see that no performance information is reported related to NFS Datastore (new feature of ESX 4.1). Is this correct? Will performance monitoring on NFS Datastore (and also on VM that reside on those Datastore) be introduced in new versions? Thanks Francesco

OpManager - Running on a VM
Hi (This is similar to a Netflow Question on another forum) I am looking at upgrading our OpManager to the latest versions via applying service packs etc. Before i proceed with this, can you tell me if it is possible to run OpManager on a virtual server in VMWARE. I have been looking on the website to see if you have any instructions etc for this or whether it is supported. We are going through a virtualisation project at present where we are removing physical servers and replacing with virtual servers.
VMWare monitoring?
Hi Guys, This is my first posting on this forum and I'm hoping that someone could help. I'm in a siutation where I had to take an older physical server to setup in our DMZ environment as a VMware vSphere 4 server. All is well but now I need to setup some monitors for this server so that I am notified if ever there would be a disk failure, high CPU usage, etc. The server is a HP Proliant DL380 G5. Any ideas of how I can setup monitors for it?
