Adding new category in Device Templates
I have a temperature monitoring device that I would like to add to OpManager v8. I've got the MIB from the vendor and was able to successfully upload it into OpManager. There is no category in the Device Templates for this device and I could not locate anywhere on how to create a new category. I was hoping to at least classify this as a network appliance. Thanks.
Active Directory
Hi all, I'm monitoring Active Directory on 2 DC's. For some reason, the first DC is working fine apart from the AD store dial telling me there is no data available. The second DC's AD store dial is working fine but the majority of the other mornitored process etc are displaying as n/a even though the WMI and SNMP credential check both pass ok. This DC is also a VM machine. Is there any reason why this might be happening? Matt
URL Monitor -> Threshold Settings?
Admin -> URL Monitors -> Click on existing URL monitor name -> Click "Configure URL" in upper right -> Click "Threshold Settings", and then click "Enable Threshold" Now an area called "Threshold Settings (optional)" comes up. How do these values apply to a URL monitor exactly?
Zoom-function in maps
Hi, Don't know if this i the right place to post, but I'll give it a shot. It would be very helpful with a zoom-function in the mapview. As it is now i have a lot of links in one of my maps and they get all cluttered up. Regards Mathias!
ESX 3.5 Servers Not Adding Correctly
Hi I have installed Opmanager 8 and have set up WMI - SNMP and SSH (using : : # for VMWare) (test SSH with Puty and User Details work ok) The Auto Discovery has found and says added the ESX Server, but these do not show up. If I try and add these manually OpManage says these are 'Entries for the device are either partially added or removed' Any ideas Thansk Graham
Google Earth Integration
Attached are 2 files that I use to display Opmanager status in Google Earth for our big screen in the NOC. NOTE: OpManager database must be accessible either locally (mysql.sock) or remotely via tcp. see posting h$$p://forums.adventnet.com/viewtopic.php?p=3947#3947 My OpManager install has some custom fields in the CustomFieldsForDevices table. Where is the google map stored, want to add overlays like weather.
Is the google map stored on the local OpManager server? I would like to add some overlays to it like weather radar which can be done on the maps.google.com site but I do not see my OpManager map under my google account. If it is stored on the OpManager server would it be possible for the developers to make it so we can add overlays? Thanks! Kevin
"Utilization" monitors not returning data
I've just installed OpManager 8 and am having issues with getting data to display in any of the "Utilization" monitors. We cannot run SNMP, so I am usign WMI. I test the credentials and they work, and I can do a test adn it brings back WMI data. But OpManager doesn't seem to want to do it on its own.
Size of a file
Is there a way to monitor a file and notify when it reaches a certain size threshold.
Build 8021 OpManager Client Login Screen displays "OpManager 7".
After successfully upgrading from OpManager v7 to v8 (Build 8002), I upgraded to Build 8021 by installing SP2 and HotFix 8021. Then I noticed that the Client's Login Screen displayed "OpManager 7". However, after logging in, it correctly displayed "OpManager 8". Anyone else have this issue?
Combining other ManageEngine products on same server as OpManager?
Hi, I'm wondering if there's any documentation regarding, or if other users have experience with combining OpManager and other ManageEngine products on a single server. Specifically I am thinking of OpUtils, Password Manager Pro, ServiceDesk Plus, and maybe even Desktop Central down the line. But if there is a general matrix of what can & can't be combined within the ManageEngine products, that would be very useful. I know OpUtils has its own trap receiver, which obviously would conflict with OpManager's
Domain Controller categorizing
I want to monitor one of our Domain Controllers as a basic server. Everytime I change the category to Server, Opmanager switches it back to a Domain Controller and redefines all my monitors. Can I tell it somehow not to redefine the category? If not, can I disable the use of the Domain Controller category? Thanks in advance.
How do you use Device Templates for servers?
For servers, specifically Windows servers, that you are monitoring for both Windows WMI items and hardware SNMP readings what kind of device template do you use? I want to monitor a Dell PowerEdge server running Windows 2003. Per-user business view filtering still allows users to see stuff not in "their" business views
Hi, I have a non-admin user account that can only see certain business views. However, when that user clicks "Maps" on the toolbar (just the word "Maps", not any of the Business Views in the little window that pops up) they can see a complete list of servers, including ones outside of their own business views. OpUtils - how to export all subnets?
I have an eval version of OpUtils installed and I'm wondering how to get all 200+ subnets I've mapped with it exported. I've found ways to export various aspects of the network but there doesn't seem to be a way to see all of them all at once. I go to reports under IP address manager and it only shows 58 of the total subnets??? This seems to me to be a very basic function - I'd really rather not have to dig through each of the six areas in the network, export each individually, then try to merge
libstdc++.so.5 missing from OpenSuSe 11.1?
I'm loading OpUtils on Open SuSe 11.1 and the firebird portion of the install is fussing about a missing libstdc++.so.5 library. I find libstdc++.so.6 present and I simply copied it to the other file name, hoping to provide the required functions, but the firebird install checks specifically for versions by calling functions. Is there a tidy way to fix this? I'm a FreeBSD guy and I can get around YaST OK, but I'd really rather not have this be a day long adventure and I can't be the first to
Stop monitoring multiple interfaces of a devce
Hi, I have OPManager monitoring my switches, routers, etc and I dont want to constantly monitor all of the interfaces. Is there a way I can stop monitoring the interfaces without having to go into each one individually and unchecking the monitor this interface box. I'd rather not delete all the interfaces in case I ever want to start monitoring any of them. The database is running on a Microsoft SQL server so if there is a field I can change the value of here I can script a job to do it. Thanks,
Trial Period after 8020 update
We installed SP2 for OpManager build 8000. After upgrading to build 8020, we have a yellow banner at the top of the OpManager stating that our "trial period will expire in 281 days." It wasn't there before. Is this normal? Is there any way to eliminate this message? Info: Win2K3 SP2, SQL2005, OpManager Premium build 8020
How to backup OpManager config?

Rediscover Ports fails
Hi! I am monitoring a Dell switch. Some ports where not assigned when I started monitoring it. I have deleted the free ports from the device. Now I have connected some new devices to the free ports and want to monitor them (the assigned ports), too. When I try to rediscover the deleted ports of my switch I don't get them. Dual interfaced servers
When i add a server to opmanger (windows 2003) and scan the interfaces in the "interfaces" tab i see 2 interfaces. Although in the software im able to check both but as soon as i add them it will only let me add one. I am experiencing this issue with all dual interfaced servers in our company. Does anyone know the solution for this problem.

Opmanager Notification alerts by email
When opmanger sends an alert by email it would be useful to have the ip address as well as the name of the device this would eliminate going into Opmanger to find out what device has the issue to find the ip address. Is this something which could be done?
Bug in Process Monitor
I accidentally posted this over in the App Manager forum, so I re-created it here. I've run into an issue where we are monitoring the number of a specific process on a Windows 2003 server. Initially we set it up to monitor for 100 instances of said process, but now need to monitor a higher count. Unfortunately, when you type anything higher than 100 in the "Instance Count" "Value" field, it comes back with an error that the number must be equal to or less than 100%. I'm guessing it's just a coding
Svchost.exe, memory utilization exceeds
Hi, We're running OpManager 8021. We are consistently seeing this alert which does not coincide with the threshold. The total amount does not add up to the threshold and usually svchost.exe is part of the mentioned services. Memory Utilization is 80%, threshold value for this monitor is 75%: Top 3 Processes:-dns.exe - 27%;lsass.exe - 6%;svchost.exe - 4%

Can OPM8 be configured to send a daily report which contains all outstanding alerts, either for all, a category such as devices, or a subcategory, such as servers? If so, how?

Default dashboard Volumes with most Disk Usage widget is empty
I even tried editing it and selecting a business view to show and it is still empty. If I go to the servers in the business view the Disk Utilization pie chart is showing. How do I fix this?
past data disappeard after rediscovered the server
Hi. I'm using OpManager 6 (build 6015) Free, and surveil several servers and routers. I've got problem that past data of the server monitor had been disappeard, after I rediscovered the server. The server is domain controller, but since I don't have license for DC monitor, I was monitoring this server in "Server" category. Does anyone have any information about this issue ? Unable to get CLI credentials to work on Procurve switch
Hi. I have a trail version of OpManger Professional v8 build 8010. I am trying to get it to talk to one of our HP Procurve 2610 switches via CLI which I am hoping will give me more information than just using SNMP does. At the moment I am seeing no traffic stats for the switch ports at all. However, no matter how I try and configure CLI, it always fails the test authentication. Cannot access OpManager build 8020 admin url from external Laptop using IE 6 & 7
Hi all, Wondering if anybody has any experience with not being able to access OpManager build 8020 admin url using IE 6 & 7. I am able to access it using firefox ver 3.5. There is no firewall between the server hosting the opmanager and my laptop. Nothing was changed and the port was left as defautl (port 8060). Wonder if any body has hit this problems b4 or if anybody has any solutions. Thanks in advance. Willie.

Dear Support Team, before we update the opmanager we had a report that shows us: - the name of the printer - the ip-address - the printed pages after the update the opmanager shows us no more the ip address.
