Copying a device template
We want to copy the Windows Server 2008 R2 device template to use for a set of servers that have different monitoring values. When we copy it asks for the oid. I did a query and selected one of the servers and that seemed to work fine but when I go to add a new monitor I do not see any of the HOST-RESOURCES monitor for snmp. If i go ahead and add the new one it removes the other 4 I had setup previously, probably because they are not in the list with the new template. Any suggestions?

Cisco Small Business Switches
Hi Is there device template available to monitor to Cisco Small BUsiness Switch SG 300-28 28 port (SRW2024-K9 V02) through Op Manager. Currently it gets discovered as Cisco Device and CPU, Memory utlization is not monitored and not shown in dials though SNMP credentials successfully connect to the switch. Txs Sanjeev
Can not add a Monitor in Device template of VMware Virtual Machine ?
Hi, All, I want to monitor the hard disk space for all my VMWare Virtual Machine using Device Template, but I can't . OpManager Help (build 9200) says ... "Device Template: The VirtualDevice template can only be applied over the ESX servers or Virtual Machines. This template is different from device type. Category: Category is VirtualDevice, which cannot be modified." Is there any method to do this job? Best Regards,

Hello all, I'm configuring one thermometer here on my opmanager. I' ve already did the import of the MIB and i did the creation of Temperature monitor. When i try to test the temperature and humidity monitor, they give me the right values. But is there a way to put the Temperature in the Snapshot Screen? I can only know the temperature when i test the monitor. Is there a way to do this?

How to map indexes to names from SNMP?
I have setup a custom device template for an ACE 4719 load balancer. Fortigate monitors
I have created a new Device Template for Fortigate 310B and 3016B and created new monitors for the CPU Utilization .1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.101.4.1. 3.0 Memory Utilization .1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.101.4.1. 4.0 Active Connection Count .1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.1.10.0 I have tested the monitors and they are working fine and retrieving data however the gauges for CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization and Active Connection Count are not displaying anything. Hyper-V Device Templates not working as expected
OpManager v9200 I have a 2008R2 Hyper-V Host with 8 Hyper-V VM's and when I add them to OpManager they get classified as 'virtual' devices but the VM's default to the VMWare Virtual Machine Device Template and the Hyper-V host gets both the Hyper-V Host Device Template AND the VMWare Host Device Template. When I try to apply the Hyper-V Virtual Machine Device Template there are no available hosts to select. I saved and then deleted the VMWare Device Templates, as they are not needed, and tried
New Template for Eaton Ex1000 UPS - Oids all get .0 appended when creating monitors
Eaton/Powerware ex1000 UPS MIB imports correctly and I can query values from device using MIB browser but when OIDs are added to a custom template, for example .1.3.6.1.2.1.33.1.2.4 which is "upsEstimatedChargeRemaining", .0 gets appended to the OID in the monitor by opmanager. I can see from the forums that this is not an isolated thing. Advice seems to be to edit opmanager_graphInfo.xml in \Program Files (x86)\ManageEngine\OpManager\conf\ and change type parameter to "interface" for each affected
How to Add Windows Services for Monitoring
Hello-- We have some Domain Controllers that we want to monitor some of their Windows services. One example that we want to monitor is the DNS Server service--but there are several more services and we need to monitor for other servers as well. How do I add Windows services that are not on the list? A generic answer is fine so I can apply that info to other services. I'm guessing it might have to do with the server's MIB, but I'm not sure. Default monitor not working with Centos
I can poll using snmpwalk & MIB Browser the OID .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6, the same OID is used in our template for Linux monitoring and fails to collect data. If a new custom monitor is created using the same OID I can succesfully collect data. What am I missing, please help
Adtran dials not working
I tought I did well since I was able to find documentation on how to modify CPU usage dial for my Adtran switch. However my OpManager 9 CPU usage grapsh shows a pathetic NO DATA AVAILABLE. Custom Tables
If I wanted to do a query on opmanager. This is what I want to look for. Listed below. device name with certain days and times and I want to look at utilization in and out of a perticular interface. Does anyone know what tables I would need to accomplish this if possible. for example. trying to do custom report for april 2 2012 to may1 times 7:00am to 18:00pm but I need this perticular time due to this is our production hours. APC UPS alarms incorrectly
We have APC UPS's installed with AP9630 MGMT cards. When running on batteries the device correctly alarms. However, when the UPS is operating on SmartTrim, the device is flagging as running on batteries, which is technically correct but the UPS is only compensating for an irregular input voltage. The device profiles for APC UPS seem to alarm on everything apart from condition onLine(2). Is it possible for me to edit the default behaviour of the APC UPS template to also ignore when upsBasicOutputStatus
WMI credential test fails - Access is denied

Alert Delay
Hi guys, I am currently setting the thresholds on some groups of server and was wondering if it was possible to fine tune the threshold so that it will not alert us unless the thrshhold has been violated for a few seconds? For instance, I would like to set it so that if a CPU sits at 100% for more than 10 seconds to alert us. What is the Best Policy for Alarms on Devices that Become Unpingable?
Long title--but it basically asks the whole question. We are just now configuring a new deployment of OpManager 9 and wondered what the best setup is for having an alarm email generated after a device is no longer pingable after x tries? I thought maybe if the SNMP service is no longer communicating is a good trigger, but wondered if there is something better? I didn't see anything in the options for ICMP, so I'm not sure. Thanks!

Modify Dial for Dell switches
Hello. I found many posts on here for modifying the snapshot_dials.xml but I'm not sure what to do with the "type" value for the param entry if I am creating for a type that isn't already thre. Get ambient temperature
Hi, We have a few HP Proliant servers and we can get with the cpqhlth.mib the temperature for a bunch of places in the server, but they are all bundled under 1 OID. Is there a way we can break these apart and get only the ambient temp etc? Thanks,
