What is the Best Policy for Alarms on Devices that Become Unpingable?

Long title--but it basically asks the whole question. We are just now configuring a new deployment of OpManager 9 and wondered what the best setup is for having an alarm email generated after a device is no longer pingable after x tries?


I thought maybe if the SNMP service is no longer communicating is a good trigger, but wondered if there is something better? I didn't see anything in the options for ICMP, so I'm not sure.
