Default threshold settings
Hi, Is it possible to globally change the default setting for a monitor threshold? For example the OS Processor Queue Length threshold is set to "Critical" severity and a single consecutive violation. I would like to globally change this to have "Attention" as the severity and only to be triggered with 2 consecutive violations Cheers Doug

Custom Monitor Alarm:Threshold doesn't clear itself
I have created a custom threshold for an HP diskdrive failure. The values are 2 when drive is operational and 3-10 when it's not. I set threshold at 3, and re-arm at 2. The drive has been fixed aka value=2, but the alarm is still there. Any help?? Thanks, Mark

Error when clicking CPU Utilization View Process Stat Icon

SNMP - CPU, Memory and Disk Utilization sometimes missing
Hello, I've installed OpManager build 6005 (running on RedHat FC 3) and I'm monitoring about 150 Solaris 8 servers via SNMP (NET-SNMP version: 5.1.1 on the Sun Boxes). During my testing I've notice sometimes when I go to a system the snapshot either CPU, Memory, Disk will say "Data not available" or just one or two will say it. If I go to test it and then go back to the snapshot view the graph will be there and the "Data not available" will be gone and it will continue working... and then sometimes
Opmanager device snapshot
Hi all, When you go to device snapshot page, every interface (both managed & unmanaged) is displayed in it. Is there any way to remove these unmanaged interfaces from the device snapshot page. (eg. If I'm monitoring a router with serialport, LAN port and some async ports, & I need only to manage the serial port. Blank page with Error! in bold!

Business views are great! Here are some suggestions to make them even better: 1) Text blocks - add a text object to a view 2) Image objects - ability to add images to view that are not associated with a device (an image of an empty rack for example or an internet cloud) 3) frames - ability to add a frame so you could put a line around a group of related devics and label it (with #1 above of course) 4) URL objects - Have seen the work-around of putting in device, not quite the same. 5) Line tool -
Locked out of OpManager
A fellow staff member was recently playing around with the admin account of our OpManager and has locked us out. We receive the follow error message when trying to login with the admin account: "Error in downloading client files from BE" I haven't had a chance to look into it yet or even ask what he was doing when it happened. Does the error message give you guys any clues to solve this problem quickly? Thanks.
Not receaving e-mail notification for devices fails
Hi all, I have created a e-mail notification profile and tested it. Then in the The Quick Configuration wizard i have Assign a notification profile to all devices with all criteria and i'm not receiving the e-mails... any ideas? Am i missing anything? device down - notification issue

Multiple Installs of opManager
We have purchased a single user copy of the opManager Premium. Currently we have all of our devices monitored by one server. Is it possible to install the software on another server to be used as a backup server at a different site? Would we need to purchase an additional user license to do this? Is it worth doing? Cisco ASA giving back odd snmp data
We are testing opmanager to replace our current monitoring tool but I have hit a snag. Cannot connect to client on RedHat Fedora
I cannot connect to the client on RedHat Fedora 4. I run StartOpManagerClient.sh as root and then attempt to login to the client. I simply get a popup box that says "Check Server Name." No matter what I type into the server name box it does not come back. I have tried localhost, the actual machine name, the ip address, and the loopback address. It never connects. Has anyone else seen this? What am I doing wrong?
alert when a monitored value is other than specified?
Hi, Currently I am monitoring my physical drives status through snmp, because we had some failed drives recently. A drive can have the status: other = 1, ok = 2, failed = 3, predictiveFailure = 4 . It will return a value of 2 when status is ok. If the status changes to 1 or 3 or 4, I would like to receive a notification. But with the current threshold configuration it is not possible is it? Application Response Time 4500ms
Hello, i've had the same problem a year ago: some server applications had 4500ms response time shows the dashboard. When i had the problem a year ago, a false DNS server was the problem. but now, DNS server is ok. i've changed the network card in the opmanager-server. is this a known problem - is there any solution for this problem? with regards, martin
Versions of OpManager?
We are currently trialing this product (using version MSP Edition build 6002) and I have a couple of questions (so far!). The documentation shows a way of configuring SNMP Trap processors under the admin tab but we don't seem to have that option? In much the same way we we don't seem to have an MIB Browser icon under admin either? Any ideas?

Error when attempting to load traps
I am trying to load traps from a file. I receive the following error when I try this: IMPORTS failed: Could not open file C:/Program Files/AdventNet/ME/OpManager/./mibs/NETSCREEN-SMI I am running OpManager on Windows 2003 installed in the default directory of C:/Program Files/AdventNet/ME/OpManager. The MIB is in the directory, but it seems that the extra "/./" in the path is causing this not to be able to load. Has anyone else seen this or have any idea what could be causing this? New DC - Some of the AD queries result in N/A
We have been successfully monitoring DCs with opmanager for about a year. We've just added an 11th DC, and I'm seeing all N/A for the following: -All performance Counters - All network monitors except Number of Clients I've removed and readded the monitors to no avail. Wasn't there a command-line utility that sometimes is needed to run against the DC? I've forgotten what it is. BTW I do have my user enabled for remote WMI and DCOM access on the DC.
Changing network view address to name
Hello Wondering if anyone knows if I can change the network view addresses (bottom left) to something I can refer to and make it more meaningful in my network. eg 168.192.20.0 to Office Network Is this just a change in the hosts or networks files for linux? Thanks Jonathan

Rogue Detection list
Is there a way to delete the current uncleared listing of rogue devices. In essence this would force the software to rediscover those devices and relist them. I am having an issue where I am only getting a mac address returned on some of the devices on my network (several hundred actually) and was thinking that if I could get the system to repopulate these devices in the rogue list I might get some better info. Returning only a mac makes it a little hard for me track down.
treshold rule (lesser than)
Hi all, I am monitoring on of our sql servers through the sql add-on and one of the things to monitor is the MSSQLCacheHitRatio. This ratio should be ideally higher than 85%. Well, I have put our threshold limit on 80% and the Threshold Check when Monitored value is lesser than threshold limit. It will rearm at 81%. Now our monitored value is around 84% and it will generate me an alarm? I'm under the impression that it should generate the alarm ONLY when the value goes below 80%. Am i configuring
VMwared' Fedora Core 6 says Unable to start Mysql daemon
Has anyone had trouble running OpManager on a Fedora Core 6 box? It would keep saying Unable to start Mysql daemon, even though the hosts file does not have any IPv6 lines in it, just the regular localhost line. This was brought up before on an older version of Fedora Core (4 or 5), yet no post of a solution was made public. Anyone know what to do?
How to display simple chinese in SMS alter messages?

Monitoring Oracle
I can run MibBrowser.bat and ALL the Oracle monitors work! When I change the configuration of MibBrowser to use Version 2c snmp it FAILS. I can run snmpwalk and they work too! But...in Opmanager I cannot get ANY oracle monitor to work so I am assuming that Opmanager is using V2c and failing... Is there a way to force version 1 SNMP for a monitor? Thanks -Wayne
Error in MIB-Browser
Since the last update to 6010 i regularly run into an error message displayed in the MIB-browser. I'm querying a device several times, and then suddenly a message window appeas with the following error message: problem iii [object error] After this message the only way to use the mib-browser again is going back to the admin page and restart the mib-browser. Anybody know where this is coming from .. and more importantly ... how to fix this?
DC devices also need interface rediscovery
Just created a new network team on a DC, and realized these devices do not have the interface rediscovery mechanism. I have really enjoyed Opmanager's capability to rediscover interfaces, because re-teaming is something we seem to do frequently (new teaming software, new hardware, etc). Hope you add this feature soon to Domain Controller devices. Thanks!
Infrastructure URL monitor notifications not working
My pre-existing to 6010 URL monitor notifications have been working right along, until today when I modified the specified addressee. After modifying, I would save and close, then open the URL monitor up again to see the old addresses were still listed, my modifications didn't seem to have been applied. I deleted that URL monitor and started over, and then tested to see if they were working by having opmanager search for a non-existing text string.
