Issue With OpUtils
We installed OpUtils on a Windows based server and it is spiking the CPU and Memory to the point of taking the server down almost. It is spawning the ping.exe over 50 times that I counted before they go away and respawn. Is there a known issue with the product.

Database backup
I've found a lot of information on backing up the database in Web NMS but nothing at all for OpManager. I'm looking to move my current DB from a windows host to a linux host. Is there a tool for this? I know it's a mysql DB, but there is no mysqlshow or mysqldump exe included, could I simply get executables and use those? Thanks!

How to delete all records and start again?
I started a discovery using a class B subnet mask and decided I should probably do the discovery using the VLAN class C addresses. I deleted the entries in the network area, however now when I try and add an address it tells me that the network already exists. Is there an easy way to delete it all and start again (I only installed it today, so losing the data is no great loss) Thanks Andrew

New switch Port Mapper
Kudos on the switch mapper function in opmanager I do have a few issues with it however. I have attached our network layout. When I map our dlink fiber switch in the core of the system, I get a very good map of the network. It tells me the devices attached to the baystacks attached to it, and the mac address, ip address, and dns name of every thing attached to them. It does not give what port they are attached to on the baystacks though. Also when I look at each baystack individually, I only get

Cannot add services
We are in the process of actually purchasing opmanager and we are having some issues. 1) It will not allow us to add certain services which we know are running. On 30 machines it did not find FTP on the initial add. So we go to add it manually and it says it adds it fine but then its not in the list when we look. Is this a bug? Is there a fix? 2) We had some services report down that were not really down. I tried everything i could think of but couldnt figure out why. Anyone heard of this one? It

OpManager 5 - Changing default port for SSH login
In order to get stats from non-snmp servers or Linux, you can fill in the login details on the passwords section of a device. Id like Opmanager to login to devices using SSH but I have devices which dont run SSH on port 22 but use anotther port instead. Is it possible to tell OpManager to connect on another port instead of 22? Dicky
OpManager NetFlow Support
Where can I download addon module for Netflow support? Do I need to install my own collector or it is included with your module?
Another issue with memory...
We have another issue already. We upgraded memory in a machine last night but we cannot figure out how to update the machine stats in opmanager. It still says the old amount and we cannot figure out how to update it. Any ideas ?
Custom graphs
I read a post in a different thread that talked about creating custom graphs that involved math functions to change something from bytes to kilobytes. The example they used was to create a custom graph with this in the oid field : <snmp oid>/($deltatime*1000). My question is, where would I find rules for how to perform mathematical operations on the data that is returned from a GET operation, and is it possible to combine multipe OID's into one operation for the purpose of a custom graph? i.e. <OID1>-<OID2>/<OID3>
Running as a Solaris daemon?
I need OpManager 5 to continue to run when I close out the terminal window. So far, every time I close the terminal window, the server processes terminate (gracefully). Could find nothing in the documentation. Evaluating on both Solaris 8 & 10. I have tried the Linux trick of "nohup sh StartOpManagerServer.sh &", but that had the same results. Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.

Ping window command empty
I installed successfully OpManager on a Linux Box. Everything works well except Ping action command which popup an empty ping results window (only close button is displayed). Traceroute works fine and my devices are well detected (Up and SNMP-ed ) I look into logs files (in OpManager/logs dir) but nothing noticed.
Does OpManager support VLAN?
1. Can OpManager discover the devices across different VLAN? 2. Does OpManager provide a VLAN view?
integration of backend for configuration and events
We have been evaluating the OpManager for some of our Network monitoring requirements. I am interested in knowing how well it can integrate with a central database in terms of provisioning of new devices for monitoring without somebody manually adding them and more importantly reporting the per device events/alarms into a central database. If you can point me to specific information, it will be very helpful.

Can I use OpManager to collect information about my routers
I want the OpManager to automatically save like a "show run" from my cisco routers. I remember being able to pull this info from SNMP but I'm unsure if OpManager can do it.
Network View versus Business view
Is it possible to transform an automatic network view (with all the networks), in business view ? My goal is to have the network view (very usefull as subnet icons are appearing) using the browser and not the client. Thanks,
Subnet change
When you add a router with a wrong subnet, it creates a subnet with that specific mask. Is it possible to change afterward the subnet mask of the device or network to correct ? thanks,
Router Info - IP Routing Table
Good morning, It seems that when you change the community name for a specific device, each time you do a "Router Info / IP routing table", the SNMP community string sent is "public" and not the good one. Could you confirm ? (same for IP address table) Many thanks,
A Few Questions
1. Why doesn't ManageEngine OpManager automatically discover all computer names? Some computers are listed as IP addresses, while others are automatically named. 2. Do monitoring options change depending on the device type selected? 3. If it is a laptop computer but the brand is only listed as generic, should you choose laptop as the category or choose the brand? For instance, I have a dell laptop I am monitoring, but the only category for that is dell. Should I make the category laptop or dell?
OpManager (linux) as daemon ?
When I start opmanager in linux (console), it stays up until I log out or my ssh session expires .. how can I keep it up ?
Op Manager Device alert Settings
Is there somewhere in OpManager that one can reference "normal" ranges for any given network that one can enter for a given device to be monitored? (i.e. "Interface Graph: a normal range for Tx Traffic in Bps)
OpManager feature requests
Now, the snapshot for a device support only SNMP-enabled device. We hope to add the function that get host resource info using WMI/Telnet after we setting passwords.
Installation Keeps Repeating
I am trying to install the OpManager program on a computer system that is running Windows 2000 Pro. It is just below the recommended specs. The problem is that the Preparing to install the Java Virtual Machine just keeps running. It restarts several times and never completes. I let the system try to install overnight last night and it never gets past the initial install screen. I have already downloaded the latest version of Java and that did not help. I have all the Microsoft patches and hotfixes
