does anyone know how to setup the snmptrapd.conf file? I would like to monitor hardware on my servers but I don't have anything to go on yet.
disk utilization on snapservers.
Hi, currently we have 3 snapservers which are basically nothing but NAS disk arrays. They run on linux, and I have snmp enabled on them. I notice that the disk utilization on the snapshot of the device will peg out at 100 percent, but if I do a diskspace usage report on them, that the devices still have plenty of diskspace. Does the disk utilization graph on the device snapshot show the access utilization or the size utilization?

Difficulties with SSH for Resource mon
Hi, Trying out the 30 days free Edition here and all in all it looks EXACTLY what we've been looking for, for our hosting solution. Right now Im running the OpManager on a win 2003 server, trying to set up non-smnp linux devices. Services etc are good, but now we want to check the resources, like memory, cpu and so on. So Ive done usual setup, checked the login prompt, password prompt and also the bash prompt. They're all default when logging on with ssh on that machine. So i checked /var/log/secure

I accidently entered in a wrong network device and it created a new view for it. How can I delete an entire network view, but keep the rest!?
Bugs in OM - Monitoring Intervals & Web Interface View
Hi Have found a bug in sp3 onwards (i run 5004)... the new "firewall" and "url" views do not have a global option in either gui or web client to set monitoring interval the gui client lets you right click on the view and choose monitoring interval, but it does not have an option on the next screen. Also, in the web client, when you set your default view on firewalls to be "detail" and then do not have any firewalls that are reporting snmp data to the web client (its weird, the device shows snmp data
Wish List Item - Sort in Web Interface
Hi! I think a great feture would be to be able to sort by any column in ascending/descending order in the infrastructure views in the web client. This can be done in the gui clientbut not web, making it difficult to find a server quickly in a list of 100 in detail view in servers (as an example). It would be great to be able to sort by name, or by service monitor (eg have all IIS servers at the top of the list). Is it possible for this to be added to the roadmap? Thanks Dave

Hi, I'm adding several switches to OpManager 5.5 build 5504 and at the firts time the port status appears correctly, but if I connect or disconnect one switch port the status don't changes never.I test it with web and java client.

incorrectly finding non-snmp node
hey guys - so far, this product looks really good. Im currently still in my first day of eval, but noticed something. I have a subnet segmented for all my cisco switches, routers, etc.. Everyone of them have SNMP configured. When I ran the Network Monitoring/Network Scan, it shows up with a few of the cisco devices as "non-snmp mode". These devices have the snmp settings properly configured, so... Whats the deal?
non existant email support
Hi I have been trying to get support for OpManager for a month with no result. Have sent numerous emails to the support email address, with no response. Is this normal? It seems that everyone was responsive until our money was paid, but now its silence. Perhaps a support team member can look into this for me, and try to find out why nobody is responding? Thanks Dave

Device already present -- But I can't locate it
I was adding a server in which we were missing reverse DNS entry for. OpManager seemed to "hang" during the process of adding the device, and I couldn't tell if it completed. I had to refresh the page after a period of time, so I never received the confirmation notification that the device was added. Later, this server's NIC cards were "teamed" which brought into use, a new IP for the device. Additionally reverse name records for this new teamed IP were created. Originally I added the device with

Starting JavaClient in Fedora

Hi, Is there a trick to getting Opmanager to see an IP Office phone system ? I have set the IP Office to run SNMP on port 161 with a read key of public, but Opmanager does not see it as running SNMP. Any ideas ? Mark.
Custom Monitor not displaying graph
I'm monitoring a Cisco PIX 525 sucessfully using OpManager. The CPU and Memory monitoring is working a treat (I'm getting graphs). I've added a custom monitor which seems to be working correctly as the threshold I've set is displayed as normal but when I display the graph it just shows NA. The custom monitor I've configured is to monitor the current connections on the PIX. MRTG is able to understand and graph the values so I can only assume I'm doing something wrong! OpManager: Managed Fedora Core 3 Server problem
I am running OpManager 5.5 on Window XP. I am having problem to manage Fedora Core 3 Server. The Fedora Server is running Net-SNMP 5.1.2 on it. On the OpManager I have a blue star on the Fedora Server, but I just can't pull any CPU, Memory, Disk Utilization info. I can't get Host resource from MIB Browser, but not all data are aviliable. Also, I have to use SNMPV1 or SNMPV2 to get MIB. If I use SNMPV3 to get MIB, it will fail. Please advise ASAP. Shaun

Hi, We are team that implement the OpManager project for our school. However, we facing a problem to manage Fedora Core Server. We have installed the net-SNMP V2c package at the server and the agent is test running well by using the command SNMP-walk. But, when we add the device to the OpManager, it shown as non-SNMP nodes devices. Can anyone help us? This is very urgent case. FYI, we installed the OpManager at Window platform (Win XP prof.). i have tried on three difrent computers 2 windows xp and one windows server 2003 EE ever 5 hours or around then all servers show all services as down except exchange most are internal one is external everything else is fine with the monitering to fix the problem i have to restart the service

Eg http://myserver:8899 Are there any other ports that I need to open up on the firewall to allow access because at the moment I cant get it. I have 8899 opened both ways. I also have port 80.
