Scanning breaks virtualisation links
SDP version 8.1 Patch 7 Database: SQL2008 I have found that when ever a Agent scan of an asset that is virtualised takes place it is breaking the relationships created by the scan of the hosting scan. As example we have 1 host and 2 servers hosted on it. I scan the VM host and it list the 2 virtuals machines on the tabe and has teh relationships shown to them. Approval link can be changed for request & change ?
When we send a link for approval to a user the user approves it and based on it you do the things and close the call . After some day using the same link you can reject the approval . The tool allows you to do it . In History its captured for Request Approval not for Change . In PO it doesn't allow to change ? kindly help . Regards Manish
Service pack 8108 problem
With the release of service pack 8108 problem with the Russians requesters remained. In the field "Name" in Requester Details can write only in Latin. When you write "Name" in Russian and then push "Add Request", the error "the requester name does not exist..."
$RequestLink HTTPS
Hi all, After updating to SDP-MSP 8, the value of $RequestLink in emails sent confirming new requests has changed from "https" back to "http". I've tried updating this through the "Self-Service Portal Settings" but this has not changed it (this reports the URL should be https, but we still see http in the emails). How can I update $RequestLink in the "Notifications Rules"? Cheers Stuart
Patch ID 11702 Always reporting that it needs to be installed.
I am currently running the latest Desktop central update, 80025 On problably 1/2 of our 90 PCs managed, it shows that there is the critical update : ID: 11702 Bulletin ID: MS12-025 MS .NET 1.1 SP1 I have ran the agent and scanned the PCs again and shows the update. I select those PCs, and have it push the update out to them. It reports that it has been installed. By checking on the machine itself, shows that that update is installed. Re-scan the PC's. It still shows that it needs to be updated,
User login problem
We installed ServiceDesk, added 5 local technicians. Then re migrated Active Directory, since doing so it seems to be causing problems for the technicians to login, I had to try local authentication about 50 times before it logged me in. Also it is not saving the technicians domain, I save the domain, it reverts back to "none" This is not the only place it is not saving, in forms too I make changes, save, it looks fine then come back and it has reverted the changes. Requesters can't se their reported incidents
I recently erased all of the requesters from inside SD+ and then re-imported the users from our Active Directory. Now my requesters no longer can view their earlier reported incidents. They don't have any rights to open them. What can I do to fix this? I use SD+ 8.1.0 Build 8105 and SQL 2005
Update issues SDP 8100
Hi. We now update our SDP distrib (OS linux without X server) from 7605 to latest build. To do this we sequentially applied service packs as described by http://www.manageengine.com/products/service-desk/migration-sequence.html. The latest successful update was from 8000 to 8027. Update from 8027 to 8100 fails with errors. I have a problem with request emails. Some times images are not processed correctly. They are shown as broken link in the request and it is not possible to send a replay. Error while installing Netflow service
Please help I've been using netflow for some time now, only to realise that I had installed it on a small partition of my harddrive. I uninstalled it and now am trying to install on the larger partition. It installed well but at the end gives this error " Error while installing Netflow service." When I go to services, this is what I get " <Failed to read Description. Error Code 2> and the service is not running. I had earlier on faced problems uninstalling the application and had to use the cleanup
Technicians menu slow
We're using 8107 running on Windows 2008 R2. Whenever we access the Technicians menu, or even edit them, SDP gets really slow. All of the other sections, menus, modules seem to work fine. It's just that whenever we click the Technicians menu, it takes about 10-15 seconds for the page to load. Any ideas of what is causing this? Thanks!

Connect to PC button is missing
Hi, I have updated to build 80025, everything seems to work ok, but most of machines that have been updated to the 8.00.22.w agent do not have the connect to pc button on the screen. I have checked this both through the inventory section, and through the reports section. I have tried re-installing the agent but this does not appear to make a difference. I am using IE 9, it also happens in Firefox. Can you shed any light on this. Thanks. Geoff.
Can't create scheduled report for group members
Hi I need to create a scheduled report that will send me a list of all members of a certain group. When I try creating an AD report it works, but I cant schedule it. These are the steps: tab AD Reports -> Scheduler Report -> Schedule New Reports Select Reports: Group Reports -> Group Members + ...then I get a list of my AD groups, I select the one that I need, but it does not accept it.... And i cant get pass this error message: Any ideas? Tnx! :)
wmiprvse high cpu
Hello, I've installed the desktop central agent on a windows 7 64bit hp laptop. The problem is that the wmiprvse takes about 25-30 % cpu usage. Svchost takes also 30% cpu, so pc is running slowly then. When I uninstall the agents, svchost and wmiprvse have no cpu usage. Any ideas? I'm running the latest builds of desktop central. Thx
upgraded to 7606: the technician groups are not shown any more
Hello I just upgraded to 7606. Everything works fine, EXEPT that the groups are not shown in the dropdown lists anymore. Here's my debugging: When creating a new request, the groups are available in the 'Group' dropdown list. After selecting the site in the 'Site' dropdown list, the groups disappear. I can not select the group in the 'group' dropdown list any more. The only option is '-- Select Group --' When setting back the site to 'Not associated to any site' the groups become available again
Select Asset popup size problem
After our upgrade to 8.1 the size of the popup windows when we are to add/change asset doesn't show all information. We are not seeing the search icon and we have to change the size every time we open the select asset page. I have included a screen shoot of this. When adding a new contact through the search window: there is no account option. Is there a place to select this fields. If not possible, can at least be considered as a future option.
Microsoft CAL licensing - Can't add requester to 2 CAL software licenses
Hi, I've created 2 software licenses in ServiceDesk with license type 'CAL'. I've found if I add requester to first license then I can't add them to 2nd license. Going forward we have to manage CALs for Exchange, SQL Server and Windows Server. I will need to add requester to 3 licenses if possible. Am I doing something wrong or it's not possible to add requester to multiple licenses? Thanks, Shazad
Scan of assets, problem
Hello We upgraded our installation of Servicedesk plus from version 8.0 build 8027 to 8.1 build 8106. When we did this we changed server and OS from windows 2003 to win 2k8 r2. We have some issues that I havent been able to fix. 1. Before the move we where able to scan windows 7 and windows 2k8 server after the move we are unable to do this. If I turn of the firewall at a server that I wish to scan I can scan it. If I have the firewall on but allow everything in and out I get that the computer doesnt

technician notification problem
hi having a problem with technician notifications you can see from the pic here is what I set our notifications to after a little while, maybe 20 min, I will notice that emails dont seem to work right and when I check, it looks like this notice the lack of quotes and the re-order of names. When this happens, only Joe and Andy get emails, Jim does not. If I re-pick the technicians, it works again for a bit and then resets itself again can you help me make it stop changing? thanks so much
OpManager Enterprise Probe and Central Server Not Syncing
I'm seen an issue where my central server is not having all the devices from the probe be synced up. The probe has 39 devices on it, and the central server only sees 12. My alarms are also not syncing up, but I believe this is because the device exists on the probe, but not on the central server. Has anyone else seen this, if so, how do I fix it? I can't seem to find a way to force a sync. Thanks, Clint
CentOS install
Hello, I installed OpManager 64bits on a new CentOS 6.2 vm. Installation went fine however when I do a StartOpManagerServer.sh, it stucks at "inside addon check". The first time I use it I saw a few tables created, but I never passed again the "inside addon check". I have already : -copy lib from backup to /usr/lib -delete IPv6 entry from /etc/hosts -change localhost to 127.0.0.1 in the database conf file Please help ! Loïc
opmanager generates hundreds of snmp udp calls per managed device
Hi, Why is opmanager generating so machine snmp calls per minute to a managed server? I have only 5 items in the performance monitor (standard stuff like cpu, memory, etc.) with 1 minute interval. Here is the log from my linux box. The machine w.x.y.z is where I run the opmanager. db2 is the machine being monitored. Invalid Assets Audit reports due to OS language
In reports: "1. Operating System (Microsoft Windows 7 Корпоративная) - Name changed from Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise to Microsoft Windows 7 Корпоративная 2. We have W7 Pro with MUI installed, so when PC is logged off it has "English" interface and reports itself as "Enterprise" and when user logs on the same PC Windows becomes "Russian" and reports itself as "Корпоративная". MAC-addresses in assets
I have two servers with RRaS service installed. Virtual VPN Adapter always uses MAC=00:53:45:00:00:00, so i have two servers with same MAC. I can switch off identification by MAC, but in this case when i reinstall office computer under another network name i will have two computers in assets -- one with old name and one with new. PostMaster Strange Behavior
It is strange that we keep on receiving Post Master Exchange mail on the service desk with undeliverable notification as its subject but I think the original mail have been successfully delivered to its recipient. It is flooding the service desk and our database as well. Any Idea what causes this strange problem? Thanks,
Unable to send external mails via servicice desk
We need to send PO to Vendors outside our domain(external mails) but efforts in doing so has proved futile. Changing the Vendors email address to any of our local mail addresses work perfectly but whenever we try sending to another domain an error pop up "sending notification failed". However exchange is working perfectly. Thinking it could be the anti-virus we tried running it on a machine without an anti-virus but it still failed. Kindly assist in rectifying this issue.

AddMonitor REST call for servers does not support SSH key-based login
Hi, My company uses the latest AppManager. The AddMonitor REST call does not support SSH key-based login, whereas in the UI I can specify SSH username and private key. This makes the REST call AddMonitor useless for me. Is this going to be fixed in the near future? Cheers, Erwin
REST API not so RESTful
Hi, I was very disappointed in using the REST API because it breaks the RESTful paradigm in many ways. The methods are specified as part of URLs, whereas methods should be HTTP methods POST, PUT, GET, DELETE and such. URLs should be composed of verbs like "monitor" or "alarm" rather than function names like "AddMonitor". Result values should be HTTP return codes. On error the HTTP call should return 4xx or 5xx, not HTTP 200 (OK) and a response message containing the error. IMO creating a monitor
