Lenovo seem to have implemented CAPTCHA and have broken the warranty lookup
I started to get warranty lookup errors on Lenovo PC's. I went the manual warranty check site (http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-service/warranty-status/default.page) and they have added a CAPTCHA at the bottom. I'm guessing this is what is hosing the Desktop Central lookup?

We want to name our android device using the Device Name. We setted a Device Name on the smartphone and we noticed that the device name on MDM is differnt (username+device model) Is there a field that contain the device name, setted on the phone, on MDM? If not, is it possible to implement the device name as field or create a new one? Thanks Regards

Patch already installed -- but Desktop Central try to install
Hello, don´t know, if there is a way to suppress such warnings or better question, if there are patches already installed, why try the Desktop Central to install such Patches? If you can see at the atteched picture, there are some Patches, for which the Desktop Central Software themselve say, these Patches are already installed, but at the same time, they say, these Patches are missing. We try to rescan several times, reboot the affected PC and rescan again....still the same...on one site it say

Hello, I would like to setup a dynamic group in Desktop Central that automatically adds computers to the group based on the first 2 characters of the computer name. We have various departments and name the computers as such, for example: IT dept - IT04xxxx Hospital Services - HS06xxxx Client Services - CS06xxxx Can I make a dynamic group that will automatically add any computer name starting with "HS"? Is this possible?
Possibility to set global date/time format used everywhere in Desktop Central

Hello, I applied Desktop Central Hotfix 80364 last Saturday (19 April) and now my "Local Group Members" inventory report, which used to display members of local groups such as Administrators, is no longer getting updates from our 145 Win 7 x64 workstations (a couple of WinXP workstations and an offline Win 7 x64 workstation are still showing up, so I know it's been working until very recently). Preventing users removing ME MDM App
Hi all, We're trialling MDM and have enable Geo-tracking. When we install the ME MDM app within IOS everything works fine, however users are able to remove this app which in turn removes the ability to track the device. Is there any way to prevent the user from removing the ME MDM app. We cannot see how or if this is possible. Any advice is appreciated. Regards Alan

Software Already Installed Error - Possible to filter?
Hi, I am locking down Java on the network. Creating an approved Java users security group. I want to have one config that installs the latest x86 and x64 update of Java to all computers in the security group. I want another config to uninstall from all computers not in the the approved security group. In testing, I found if I push Java to a computer that already has Java I receive a "fatal error during installation". Can I set a filter to not push it to computer with the most recent version of Java?

Invalid checksums when downloading JRE 7 update 55 patches
I tried downloading the new JRE 7 Update 55 (x86 and x64) updates this morning. They downloaded fine, but I got an error about invalid checksums, and they are still listed as "Not Downloaded". I've seen this in the past with a faulty Vulnerability DB update. Can anyone confirm this, or is there some action I need to take? Thanks.

Hi, Is it possible that the development team of DesktopCentral add the ability to add a configuration within a software deployment? This would add the usefull ability to, for example, add or remove a shortcut after installing a software (that does not support advanced install parameters). Or folders permissions, registry settings ... The most important thing is to deploy some configurations right after the software has been installed (if successfull) without needing to control that every computers
Deleted computer still appears in custom reports
I use custom reports to get all computers with their installed Java / Flash / Adobe Reader version and install date. In these custom reports a computer appears that does not exist for more than a year. This computer has been removed from active directory and does not appear in the Inventory view or in the All systems view of Patch Mgmt or in the SoM view. Neither it appears in pre-built reports like the "All computers" report. But in existing custom reports and also when I create a new custom report

Hi, I've always previously relied on emailing batches of users asking them to leave their PC's on one night for a preset configuration to fire off and patch up their PC's. I'm sure you can imagine the percentage of people that actually remember! Some machines not receiving Software Packages
Hey, I have been going over some of the software deployments we have active and I have been noticing that there seems to be certain computers that will just not receive a software deployment. The status shows "Yet to Apply". Some of these software deployments have been active for weeks, so it isn't that the PC hasn't been rebooted or that the policy refresh hasn't occured. We have several active software deployments and these machines seem to show up in each of them. Not in all cases, but in a few.

Writing Binary Registry Values
Hi, Is there a trick to writing REG_BINARY values using Desktop Central? When these values get exported in a registry file they export in the format "SomeRegValue"=hex:12,ef,c0,.....etc I have tried taking the data that comes after =hex: and putting this as my Value Data / Expression but it doesn't work. It looks like Desktop Central is rewriting the values so when they are written to the registry, the HEX values no longer look like they do when they get imported from a .reg file. Is there anyway

How Do I create A Scheduled Report For MDM?
I want to run a scheduled report for "devices with/without a specifc app," but I only see that option for manual reports. When I try to schedule a report, that option isn't there. I tried making it a custom report, but that only gives me options for desktops and NOT MDM. Please help.

Dear all, I added a File Folder Operation to copy a configuration file to client computers. I can save this operation, with luck, just one time. After changing something and aditional saving, I recieve an error to add the target folder. But the target folder already exist and it's an folder on the computer. German umlauts are not correctly displayed in the Desktop agent
Hi Team, not sure if this the right sub forum but i´m brave and just write it down. If i install the Desktop Central Agent on workstations with german operating system, the umlauts are not displaying correctly. In this example (attechment "zoho") "unzul'\u00e4'ssige" instead of "unzulässige". The other thing, we do not have configure prohibited software, but the Agent at the workstation shows this picture (attechment "zoho1"). Chat window disappears in Windows 8
Chat window seems to work fine in Windows 7, but not in Windows 8. It pops up, but then disappears. Is this a known issue that is being addressed? I am on the latest DC-MSP build.
