Hi, I posted last week about trying to work out why my patches were not deploying, and had some amazing help which has since enabled me to progress with my testing. I now face another little issue, I have had a look through the Admin Guide and cannot see what I'm looking for (unless I've been really blind). I have deployed an install to around 150 machines, 19 are still 'Yet To Apply' and this was because they were switched off. Since then, 3 more machines have been turned on and are showing as online

Desktop Central Server applied in DMZ
Hi Community, my environment forces me to deploy Desktop Central Server inside DMZ. We also have a Workgroup and Windows 7 Home Premium Clients. Unable to deploy critical patches
I have a VM set up to allow unapproved patches to be pushed out to it to test before deploying to the rest of the machines. The issue I'm currently having is all patches I push out to the virtual machine come back as Not Applicable. I thought the cause could be that I didn't have Internet Explorer 11 installed (It only have IE 8) and one of the patches was for IE 11, so I installed Internet Explorer 11 and then re-deployed the patch and still failed. java.exe*32 service take 100% cpu
I have Desktop Central MSP Build 80295 installed on a Windows 2008 STD SP1 server on VMware. Now when I start the ManageEngine Desktop Central MSP service the java.exe*32 service take 100% cpu. The application runs for around 10 min then it stops. Any ideas as to why ?
Unable to reach the Domain!
I am receiving an error "Desktop Central server should have access to reach the following domains to download patch related files in the following formats: .7z, .zip, .exe, .msi etc ." The software the error is referring to is CDBurnerXP. . However, this software is not installed on any workstation or server. It is not listed in the software inventory. So why is DS attempting to access the URL, http://download.cdburnerxp.se?

Auto Patch Deployment
Hi I created an Auto Patch Deployment config to scan, download and deploy. But found that when the agent was installed on a new build , it would immediately start deploying patches and not just at the defined schedule time (DC Default Policy maybe ?) , which was not ideal when you are doing other setup\config work on the machine. So I modified the config to just scan. But have found that patches are still being deployed to newly installed machines immediately after the agent is installed. Is it best
Desired - Patch Approval Status "By Application"
Currently we have configured all updates as "approved", and only today I have added my first "declined" patches, for the Application "SharePoint". managing different computers - getting started
I just installed Desktop Central and want to start patching computers. Initially I added the computers to DC and used it to installed the latest Java, Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash. Differences in Inventory Modules between ServiceDesk Plus and Desktop Central
We are trying to get our inventory under control and managed in a more effective way. We have both ServiceDesk Plus and Desktop. They both seem to have inventory modules in them. How do I deploy MS Office templates to users with Desktop Central
We have several customized templates for MS Office, especially normal.dotx and normal.dotm for MS Word. Is there a way to deploy these to our users' default templates folder with Desktop Central. I've tried using the file copy configuration tool but can't seem to get it to work. Has someone documented this already? Thanks for the help.
Lock Workstation after X minutes of inactivity
Looking to figure out how to lock a workstation after X minutes of Inactivity, and remaining locked until the user unlocks the screen with appropriate identification and authentication... been looking at the Display (user) configuration, which is where I think I need to be. If the user doesnt have a screen saver enabled, what happens when you choose Retain Existing Screensaver, with the wait time, then on resume show logon screen, or is there another way to do this?

Suggestion - Add "Computer Workbench" to keep focus to single collection of Computers
One of the more bothersome issues, our DTC users frequently have to deal with, is after having selected a Custom Group, or even Domain group of computers to work with (such as from the patch management tab), they will click on one of the computers to expand the details, and if they try to return back to the collection of computers they want to work with, they are back at the start, having to again filter from all computers, back down to the, custom group or domain etc., that they started with. Deploying Patches - Not Applicable
Hi all, I'm new to this forum, and relatively new to Desktop Central and deploying patches. I am going through the Critical patches which have not yet been approved. I have set up a VM to test the patches on before I roll them out to other machines, but when I try and push any Windows updates out, I get: "Patch is not applicable for this target" I thought it may be because I don't have any other installs on the machine. Errors in Distribution Server Logs
Hello After upgrading to the latest version of DC (91042) I've seen this when looking at the "remote office" information: When I click on the "view" link I see this: I opened up the dsaccesslog.txt on the server, and for this distribution server, I'm seeing the error "DSERROR 10002" in the logs. For the other servers - which show "replication cycle completed successfully" in the web interface, I'm seeing a "DSERROR 10003" at every replication cycle. Failed to Update the Vulnerability DataBase
Recently installed MEDC (V9 Build 91043) and found that I cannot sync the patch vulnerability database - it fails with the error in the title I'm not using a proxy (Direct to internet) Looking at the logs, it downloads the SQL Files, and then when it tries to update the database it fails. DC Agent install fail
Hi Recently desktop central agent has stopped installing when done manually. When pulled directly from the server and run the agent requests a batch file to be run (version 9). If I try run version 8 of the agent there is no issue and it installs as before. Has this been reported as an issue? G

Windows Update says important patches are needed... Patch Scan says no updates are necessary
Hello, I just finished applying 20 updates (both Microsoft and Third Party) to a Windows 7 desktop. Now, Windows Update on this system is telling me that two IMPORTANT updates still need to be applied: KB 2984976 KB 2952664 I've synchronized my patch database but still do not see either of these patches available. My questions are as follows: 1) Why are these patches not available? 2) How do I manually download these patches and insert them into the database so they can be automatically deployed?
Flash Uninstallation
With the recent findings on versions of flash before 18.0.203, we are starting to update all clients to this version. However, we are experiencing issues utilizing the uninstall function. Namely, it fails every time we try on older versions. Does anyone know the applicable switches to include in the uninstall command? Any insight into best practices to updating an application while removing older versions? Our biggest concerns are flash, java and Symantec endpoint protections. Thank you in advance.
