Internet Explorer 9 install
I know IE11 is out but i have some PCs out there that still have IE8 and i would like to push out IE9. How can i roll this out. When look at Software deployment and under templates it only shows IE11. thanks.
Desktop Central Progress bar & Locking user UI
Hi, I have 2 questions regarding software deployment, is it possible to change the image on the deployment progress bar, we want to change it to our company logo also is it possible to lock the user UI while a software installs ? Thank you,
Ports used by network share
I wish to use a NAS as a network share to deploy softwares and only allowed specific ports for security reasons. Whenever I try to access the designated folder on my NAS (with correct credentials) the access is denied and I believe it is due to the port(s) not being opened on the side of NAS. What port(s) is/are used by Desktop Central for accessing the software repository on the network?
Deployment of .NET 4.5.1--offline installer or web installer?
I'm deploying the .NET 4.5.1 update for all of my domain computers (about 170) to provide functionality to one of our systems that we just updated, and my subject line pretty much says it all. Will deploying the web installer (using /q /norestart to run in the background) work? It's not a HUGE deal, but it would put the data load on microsoft rather than having the offline installer come off my servers. Thanks! -Adam
Automatic Software Deployement
Hi, I am looking to automate the updating process of our user's VPN client. We are able to push software to specific computer, but we would like to have the agent look at the computer and recognize that a user has X software version 7.0. Then the agent will automatically with no administrative assistance pull the new 8.0 version for instance to that computer. In our case, the software is WatchGuard MUVPN 11.8, but we also plan to use this with numerous other applications. Thanks!
Automated Deployment For TeamViewer 9
I am wanting to deploy TeamViewer 9 to all of our users but unsure of the switches/options to use in the software configuration. We have paid licensing for TeamViewer and not using the free version. I found some instructions online (see attached file) on how to deploy via a domain group policy but prefer to do so with Desktop Central. The group policy method deploys the setup file and a .reg file that has the settings (account info, options, etc..) in it. Not sure how to deploy both of these to our

Hi, I'm going crazy! We updated to Desktop Central 80332 just before the end of last year. The normal issues we experience are client agents not upgrading and execution of MSI and EXE's fail. Both MSI, EXE's and client agents were tested but just this week after deploying an Installation configuration and saving it as a draft all of the packages within the configuration were deleted bar the first one in the list. This issue is happening in two sites we currently have Desktop Central 80332 installed.
Disable user configuration (software deployment) on a group of desktops
Hi, I would like to disable user configuration to apply to certain computers (when users logon on a different one). Our situation: We got a group of laptop users who needs local software, but when this users logs on a desktop at the office I don't want that software to be installed on that desktop. All of these systems are Windows 7 and on the same ip subnet, but on different OU. When I create a Software Deployment Configuration for a (AD) group of users I cann't exclude a specific computer OU. Crashplan Pro.e Remote Full Install for Active Directory
I'm trying to figure out a way to remote install Crashplan Pro E using the desktop central software deployment feature. We currently run an Active Directory which Crashplan already ties into and reads. Currently if you deploy Crashplan remotely, the user computer pops a notification that requires you to sign in using the users AD credentials which has to be done by hand. MSI software deployment have the option to browse and associate an MST file
I know you can specify an msi transforms file (mst file) using the "MSIEXEC/EXE/ISS/Command" option within Software Deployment but to me it would seem a slicker solution if when you have the package type set as MSI you had the optional option to browse and associate a MST file. We use mst file with for most of our msi installers to customise the setup so at the moment we don't really set the package type to MSI that much instead we currently use the MSIEXEC/EXE/ISS/Command package type and specify

Hi, Is there a way to run a query of workstations that have version x of software and then deploy version y to that group of workstations? For example, I would like to run a query of workstations that have a version less than 4.0.7577.4409 of Microsoft Lync. Hi there Has anyone managed to deploy IE11 using Desktop Central? I am getting 'Unknown Error. Code : 40007' whenever it tries to install to a machine I am installing it with these switches IE11-Windows6.1-x64-en-us.exe /quiet /update-no /norestart Am I doing something wrong?
Deployed configurations not updated with newly added members in AD group
Hi, when we've deployed an application for an AD group and the membership is changed (a new user is added to the group) the new user does not get the application, we have to update the configuration and once again add the AD group. Is there a way to change this setting? Regards, Tony L

Office 2010 Deployment - This update package could not be opened
I am attempting to deploy Office 2010 from a network share with Desktop Central. I have had success in the past doing so, but it seems like lately any time I try, I get a failure. Tried with the client's Windows firewall on and off, and there's no third party AV or firewall installed yet. I have ensured the Admin$ share is enabled, file and print sharing is turned on, and so on. SW HTTP Repository Error
I tried changing my http software repository to a network share and after restarting desktop central server I got the following error. Desktop Central is unable to reach the Patch Store / Software Repository I tried looking for some config file where I could change it back but so far no luck. And since Desktop Central won't start I can't just change it back in there. Any help would be appreciated.
Incorrect Path when adding a new Software Package
When adding a new software package, DC adds it successfully, but the path showing on the administrartion site is different than the actual path where the files were actualy uploaded. This results in errors when the package is deployed, like (Path not found) The path showing on the admin portal: swrepository\1\swuploads\SoftwareName The actual path where the files exisit: swrepository\DCSWHttpRepository\1\swuploads\SoftwareName Why is this happening and how can we fix it? Does ADAuditPlus audit software installs and if so, how?
I have a Remote Desktop Services server which I know a browser was installed on between certain date ranges (ServiceDesk Plus tells me this). Software deployment: Stuck in Ready to Execture
Hi, I recently setup a patch deployment for Adobe's latest version of flash. We have a "custom dynamic group" setup that targets all the computers we are managing with Desktop Central (approx. 241 computers total). I deploy the "Configuration" using the "Deploy" button and set the schedule to "Install during startup". The status of the "Configuration" just stays as "Ready To Execute" I found this KB which explains when a "Configuration" will switch out of the ready state. As I test I have rebooted

We do not install to the default path in our environment. We use something like "x:\installs". I cannot find a place in the package set up or deployment setup to change the install path. deploying software run as 'user' still running as 'system'
Hello DC team, I am wondering why this is not working? I have created a deployment in which case I would like interaction with the desktop. I have choose to run the installer as domain admin. The issue I am running into is even in the summery it's showing correct as run as 'domain/user' on the local workstation the exe I am trying to run is running as 'system'. In this case I have to run it as admin to I get an interaction with the desktop and the user will get a pop up where to enter a password.

Unable to tun VBS script on windows 7
We have a script that uninstalls office on remote PC's. When executing this script from desktopcentral to a Windows8 machine it is executed. When executing it to a Windows7 machine it is not executed. Even with the proposed $systemdrive and such parameters it will not execute. Hi, I'm having problems with deploying customs packages, whenever I deploy a package to a machine, the installer/setup starts and runs like it should, but the setup process doesn't close itself afterwards. The status in Desktop Central keeps hanging at "Yet to deploy". Problem with Dinamic custom group
I have 2 Dinamic custom group. 1º With computers with S.O = Windows xp 2 With computers with S.O = Windows 7 all computers belong to the same Active Directory. when I want to make a distribution on these dinamic custom groups 1º shows less than computers listing. 2º in dinamic group Windows 7 shows computers with another operating system ( like Windows Xp ) As an emergency solution, I'm exporting the list and put this list as distributing computers but I'm curious to know the reason for failure

Software Deployment via AD Group Membership
I setup Configurations for the deployment of applications, using Active Directory group memberships of the computers to filter on. When I change the membership of the AD groups, Desktop Central does not pick up this change. I have to go into the Configuration and click Deploy for Desktop Central to re-enumate the changed group membership. I want to be able to add computers to groups, and have Desktop Central automatically pick up the new group membership and install applications accordingly.
Best Practice for Third Party Major Version Upgrades?
What's the best way to do a major version upgrade? For example, I'd like to replacement Adobe Reader 10 with 11. I'd like to do this for all machines that currently have Reader installed, while avoiding installing it on machines that don't have any version of Reader installed. Thanks
