Matlab Software Deployment
I am trying to deploy software to my network computers. I have successfully deployed other software using an msi, but I am having trouble getting Matlab to deploy correctly. So to install matlab silently, I need to do this: setup.exe -inputFile C:\temp\my_installer_input.txt where the txt file contains the answers to prompts during install, how the install should go (interactive, automated or silent), etc So when I set up the package in Desktop Central, I use the following: \\DBSRVR\Share\Matlab_2012b\Matlab2012b\bin\win64\setup.exe
Prohibited software list help
I had once configured a certain software to be on the prohibited list and as such, removed automatically. We changed our mind and will now allow this software, but even though I have removed it from the prohibited list, it's still being removed within 30 seconds of being installed. I emptied the prohibited list, added that one software back and excluded it. Tried stopping and restarting the service from the ManageEngine server, but it continues to remove this application. The application is OpenOffice

Software Distribution for Google Apps Sync for Outlook
Hi, I have been trying to get Google Apps Sync to install on a remote computer via desktop central using the template package, but I keep running into this issue. I have also tried setting up my own package, but with the same results. I have also attached the install log file of the install. I cannot find where the error is. Thanks!
Custom Static User Group not shown in list of available target groups?
Hello, We have DC8 and I've created a Custom Static Group of users successfully and it shows in the list of Custom Groups in the Admin area where I created it, but when I am modifying my configuration and attempting to target this group and select domain\custom group\browse, my Custom Static User Group does NOT show in the list for me to select. I have done this successfully at least once, but have tried several other times and have not been able to get my Custom Group to show in the available list
Software Deployment doesn't invoke Windows Restart Manager
We have an application that integrates with Windows Restart Manager (our client PCs are Windows 7 machines) to allow automatic shutdown and restart of the running application (and not the entire computer) when updates are installed. The installer is MSI-based and we usually install it with the command line "VVC_patient.msi /quiet /l log.txt" which correctly triggers Restart Manager to shut down the application and restart it (the new version) afterwards, completely silent and with no "files in use"
Uninstall software that requires password
Hi, We have in our company a number of software's that are restricted and requires a password to change settings and also uninstall. I had no problem installing these, however uninstall seems a bit tricky due to the password process- Anyone have a work around to this, is there a way to specify the password in DC and run the uninstall?
Slow Deployment Times with Desktop Central 9?
We recently updated to build 90023 and we have noticed since making the move from 8 to 9 that the deployment times are very slow to start compared to previous builds of 8, even when selecting "Deploy Immediately". Is there somewhere that I can look to tweak the deployment time? the configurations are sitting at waiting to execute for unusualy long times. Thanks, Anthony
How to go about software deployment once you have installed agents?
Hi, I have installed DC on a server that I remotely access through my PC. I have the DC Agent installed on my PC and another PC. I would like to push down a software from the 'Templates' tab to both these PCs. After creating the package from the templates, it is saved in the software repository's designated folder in the server where I installed DC. How do I go about pushing down the software that is saved in the server, to both these PCs? Please help! Thank you!
Problem Deploying Adobe Shockwave Player
I have setup and deployed Adobe Shockwave Player v12.1.2.152 from the template in Desktop Central. So far no matter how I deploy the software all I am seeing is retry in progress. I have tried running the software from startup option and at the refresh interval. I have also tried deploying the software with the system user and with my domain administrator account. Any help on this problem will be greatly appreciated.
Unable to Create Package from Template
Hi, I want to create a package for Adobe Flash Player ActiveX, but after clicking on 'Create Package', it seems to be 'In Progress' for a long period of time. Does it usually take very long to create a package?
Error occurred while downloading the required files.
We get this error when deploying packages after updating the desktop central server. Its create the folder on the client machine but not putting the file inside of it. We are using a share on another server for the repository. Have anyone get this problem before? I also talked with the support yesterday and he started a remote session to me and then he told me to send some files to him and he should have send a hotfix to me and i haven't seen any email from him.
custom groups multiple criteria
I want to have a dynamic custom group that separates out my Win 7 32 bit and my win 7 64 bit. I want to deploy software based upon those attributes. When i create the custom group i choose Operating system as Windows 7 and then add a second criteria as x86 for system type. Then i save it. The issue is that after i save it it reverts from an AND statement to an OR statement so it pulls in my 32 bit servers. HOw can i stop this? Thanks.
software deployment issue After upgrading to 9
After the upgrade when creating packages for software deployment, it doesn't seem to find the msi's or Exe's inside the share to deploy. Example screenshot below. After clicking on the plus sign the MSI or Exe for the respective application should show up. thank You,

Using Desktop Central is there anyway to deploy .reg files to a user? Other App Deploy programs I have used have allowed this but not been able to see it on Desktop Central.

Java 7 Update 55 Template
Java 7 Update 55 was released on April 15th, 2014. Is there a timeline available when it will be added to the Software Deployment repository? I have an application that won't run because of the way java expires previous versions. most of them I can deploy a custom java config to the machines so it doesn't check for expiration, but this app loads a new applet with every update that checks for the current version. Running a 3rd party program
Hello, I am new to this program and what I am trying to do is setup a schedule to run some 3rd party programs (ex. CCleaner) and I am not sure where to go in the program to setup those scripts or even where I would be able to use the built-in scripts. If anybody can help that would be greatly appreciated.
Software Already Installed Error - Possible to filter?
Hi, I am locking down Java on the network. Creating an approved Java users security group. I want to have one config that installs the latest x86 and x64 update of Java to all computers in the security group. I want another config to uninstall from all computers not in the the approved security group. In testing, I found if I push Java to a computer that already has Java I receive a "fatal error during installation". Can I set a filter to not push it to computer with the most recent version of Java?
Ability to add a configuration within a software deployment
Hi, Is it possible that the development team of DesktopCentral add the ability to add a configuration within a software deployment? This would add the usefull ability to, for example, add or remove a shortcut after installing a software (that does not support advanced install parameters). Or folders permissions, registry settings ... The most important thing is to deploy some configurations right after the software has been installed (if successfull) without needing to control that every computers
Some machines not receiving Software Packages
Hey, I have been going over some of the software deployments we have active and I have been noticing that there seems to be certain computers that will just not receive a software deployment. The status shows "Yet to Apply". Some of these software deployments have been active for weeks, so it isn't that the PC hasn't been rebooted or that the policy refresh hasn't occured. We have several active software deployments and these machines seem to show up in each of them. Not in all cases, but in a few.
How to deploy MS Office Fixit 51010?
I need to deploy MS Fixit 51010 which should disable opening RTF documents in Word. Skype and Java Updating best practices
We have been using DC for a few months now and I am constantly running into issues with Skype and Java always been in use, therefore, the update can never apply. I'm assuming this is because Java and Skype open on boot by default, which causes them to always be running. Has anyone else dealt with this before? Should we tell our computers not to allow these programs to start on boot? Would this solve the issue?
Deploy immediately doesn't work anymore - build 80339

I have tried with 2 deployment policies : - Initiate Deployment at Refresh cycle, any day from 00:00:00 to 23:59:00, do not reboot. - Initiate Deployment Either of these whichever happens earlier, any day from 00:00:00 to 23:59:00, do not reboot. Dynamic Custom Groups
I've created a custom group that;- 1. Checks is peace of software is installed 2. If that peace of software if exists isn't a version 3. If another peace of software isn't installed This group seems to work but when attached to a configuration and deploys it, it does have the correct number of clients based on the custom group at the time of creation but the configuration isn't checking the custom group for new clients. Error Code - Show as success
Hi, I'm setting up a configuration for a removal/install of a software. This is a 2 part process 1. Uninstall software 2. Install new software. The problem is that some machines do not have the original software, so that part of the script returns an error code "this action is only valid for products that are currently installed." error code is 1605. I would like to be able to make that error code marked as a success, and not have the system attempt a retry and eventually mark as a failure.

Script doesn't run after application installation

Unable to deploy software using delayed deployment
Hi, Build 80347. As soon as I tick "install after" and fill in a date/time I am unable to click Deploy, Deploy Immediately or Save as draft on a software deployment configuration. Software Repository: Invalid location: Access is denied.
Hi Guys, I'm trying to change the software repository location to network share, but I'm getting "Invalid location: Access is denied". Network share has "Read" permission for Everyone. However, if I change Everyone permissions to Full Control then it works fine. I've even tried giving Full Control to Domain Users but still no success. Only Everyone with Full Control works fine. Hi Guys, I'm trying to deploy Ms Office 2010 through software deployment, but I can't see the option to choose Network Path or HTTP Path. Is this option not supported in MSP version? Autodesk 2013 Uninstallation
I figured out how to uninstall Autodesk 2013 silently. FYI. "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Uninstall Tool 2013\InvCleanup.exe" /qn InvCleanup.exe will remove all the Autodesk apps. The /qn performs it silently. The icons will disappear one at a time. -Ben
