Desktop Central Needs Dark Mode
Hello, I'm hoping that I'm not the only one who has noticed the amount of eye strain from looking at these very bright dashboards. It would be very nice for Desktop Central to have a dark mode! Thank you, Jesse C.
Add Integration for JIRA Cloud
Currently, integrating Desktop Central with the cloud version of JIRA Service Desk is not supported. Since the on-prem version of JIRA is supported, I think it is essential that Desktop Central integrate with the cloud version as well.
Easy way to view System Uptime
Hi Guys, I’m an Desktop Central user now for almost 3 months. I love everything about it and can’t work without anymore. Bud something isn’t that useful as I like it to be. It has everything to do with System Uptime Report. In this report you can view
Support for domain specific dns server
Hello We have Desktop Central installed on a central server connected to three AD servers. This server is on a network with different dns server then the three domains. That means when I try installing the agent from Desktop Central to a computer, I browse
add support for WSL
Clients in WSL should not require a license since they are no real clients and may use them from host system (Windows 10). Everything else should just work as with regular Linux agent.
Force reboot after applying an install patch even if the user is not logged in
I'm trying to create an automated security update (istall patch) and force the reboot the computer after the updates have been completed, but there is only the option to force reboot after first log in by the user. Is there a way to automate and force the reboot upon the completion? Is this option only on the liscensed version or is there another peice to desktop central that I'm missing that can force the reboots after completion for me?
Minor Tweak Suggestion To System Tray Menu
So this is a suggestion that is very minor, nothing critical, it's just to address an annoyance. So in my company's environment, when we go to open up Desktop Central we go to the system tray area, right click the DC icon and choose the open web console option. It's great. Except that stop service is immediately above this. There have been a few instances where someone, myself included, has accidentally hit the stop service option. It's not a huge deal, you just start the service back up hooray,

Being able to depoloy approved patches from the client.
It would be great if from the client you could force the instaltion of waiting approved patches This option could be turnned on or off within the automatic patch tasks. Stephen Fowles 3rd Line Support Technician North West Ambulance Service - NHS Trust
Better column width control
There should be either manual control of the columns or more intelligent control by the software. For example in software inventory the software title is cut short while there is still space left on the screen, smaller fields take up the same space, making it hard to tell similar software apart quickly.
Outlook profile
It would be nice to be able to configure an outlook profile the first time user logs in. thanks igorek
Desktop Central Agrnt
Desktop Central’s client would really benefit from a running status screen, much in the same fashion as McAfee ePO Agent screen. https://community.mcafee.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/2-187231-13473/450-268/McAfeeStatusMonitor.png That you can see it communicating to the server, executing tasks and any event errors Stephen Fowles 3rd Line Support Technician North West Ambulance Service - NHS Trust
Migrating from MySQL to SQL 2012 -- SUCCESSFUL
I was attempting to migrate from the bundled MySQL instance with DesktopCentral Build #80035 to Microsoft SQL 2012 running on another server, but was running into errors on the restore. I looked at the following discussions, which provided some value: https://forums.manageengine.com/topic/migrating-from-mysql-to-sql-2005 https://forums.manageengine.com/topic/migrating-from-mysql-to-sql https://forums.manageengine.com/topic/mysql-to-mssql-on-desktop-central (this one could have been more helpful)
Power Management deploy as Computer Type (not user)
Hi, i was wondering if it is possible to deploy a Power Management policy to a group of computers and not of users. Thank You
How to export configurations?
Hi there We use several independent Desktop Central servers. We do however need certain configurations on all servers. Is there a way to export a configuration from one server and import it into the others? In case the management console does not offer such a feature, is there a way to copy the configuration somehow from the Desktop Central installation folder? Thanks for your help Stefan
Easy place to see latest version of Desktop Central for download?
I'm seeing the downloads everywhere. But they never bother mentioning the build number.
Upgrade Third Party Apps
Desktop Central 8 can automatically deploy patches, but it cannot automatically upgrade software to a new version. For example, it can deploy patches for Adobe Reader 9, but not automatically upgrade to Adobe Reader X. I realize one can use the "Software Deployment" feature to deploy Reader X, but it would be nice if an upgrade feature was integrated with Patch Management, so it doesn't have to be handled separately. Can you please implement this feature in a DC 8 hotfix? Thanks!
Trigger reports
Hi DC team, here I come with an other idea (while using DC, I see a lot of small improvements that would be nice to implement so I just share them for you to decide). Currently, we are able to create custom reports and schedule any report being allowed to send them via an email with an attachment. This is nice but by experience, I noticed that the more emails we receive, the less we pay attention to them. If I receive reports from DC everyday I will pay a lot less attention them than if I just receive
Block Software installs
Is there a way to block software from being installed? I realize that the Prohibited software removes unwanted software, but I would like to stop users from installing certain programs in the first place. Is this something can currently be accomplished or will it need to be an added feature in a later build update?
Configuration... Copy File... (when newer)
I'd really love to see the Copy File/Folder option fleshed out so that it can be done based on file date. Basically you'd select copy file, select the copy from location, select the copy to location and would have the criteria set to when newer. Then based on the file/date stamp I'd be able to overwrite a custom MS access .ade file our developer creates whenever a new version is available. Of course this would have to be combined with the ability to rerun this configuration at every login which I
