Integration - Manage Engine Cloud with Tenable.sc

Now you can Scan and deploy Mac patches automatically
Using Desktop Central you can scan and deploy Mac patches automatically. The benefit includes : Scan and fetch status reports: By following the script (Ref the link given below) you can scan the designated systems and access the reports to analyze the status updates from a centralized location, which means you will have in-hand information about the systems and the reports helps you to take a informed decision. Patch deployment: You can perform the patch deployment from a centralized location for
Dell Warranty Status Check
It would be great if desktop central can integrate Dell warranty status check into inventory. Desktop Central pulls the service tag from a Dell computer now, but if that service tag can be linked to the Dell warranty page http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/my_systems_info/details?c=us&cs=555&l=en&s=biz&~ck=anavml That would be great! Spiceworks does this already and I think it would be a simple integration.
Desktop Central Remote Site Modification/Replication Policy
I was having problems with modification of a remote site , specifically installing and configuring OS Deployment Components. I had a previous replication policy configured when testing this feature when it was first released. The symptoms i had experienced: I was unable save OS Deployment Components settings nor would the settings create an image or driver repository profile when saving modified remote site. After working a case with support, the cause was that I had deleted a previously assigned

Mac OS patch (601384) gets the machine rebooted without notification
The patch crawler team has found that upon patching Mac sierra machines, it is getting rebooted arbitrarily even when "No Reboot" deployment policy is selected. From analyze, the team has confirmed patch 601384 naturally invokes the reboot action without notifying the customer. It seems it is the behavior of this update upon reading various 3rd party forums. A message has been added in the product UI to convey the Mac Sierra reboot message so that customers can get benefited and plan their patching

New Feature Wish
Hello All, I think having a Software Inventory is fantastic! I'd love to be able to do the same for Windows Updates. TIA, AlanKeno
Remote Control Concerns: Need to User Notification + Awareness
When selecting to remote a control a device in the console, you have to supply a reason. However, this reason doesn't appear to be used anywhere? Our users have raised the following interesting privacy concerns: 1. Someone can remote control their PC without there permission 2. They cannot tell that their PC is being remote controlled Our business is reviewing the idea of banning remote control via Desktop Central because of these concerns. TeamViewer combats this well be allowing users to accept
Install Windows components like SNMP?
I need to install and enable the SNMP service on my desktops (for Opmanager to see them). Is there a way to install Windows components using DE? I know it's possible using ocsetup in Windows and sysinternals psexec like this: psexec \\COMPUTER –u USER –p PASSWORD “start ocsetup snmp /quiet /norestart”
Software Deployment - Prevent Redeploying an Application
Consider the following scenario: You have an application to deploy to the entire domain, but you want to test deployment first to only a few machines. You create a software deployment policy with the package and machines, and deployment is successful. You then modify the deployment to include the rest of the machines in the domain. The deployment runs, but it also redeploys the application even to the machines that already had it during testing. Since Desktop Central keeps track of software inventory
Multiple selections with inventory
It would be great to be able to select multiple devices within inventory and then start a say 'asset scan' on all the selected devices. Stephen Fowles 3rd Line Support Technician North West Ambulance Service - NHS Trust
Would like to group Configurations into folders or a folder hierarchy
All of the configurations are now bunched together in a big list. I would like to be able to graphically group them to categorize those that I apply to all PC's vs those I use on occasion for specific settings on specific groups.
Datamodel desktop Central
Hi, Whe can I find a data model of Desktop Central so I know the tables I can use in my query report?
Customized Software Installation alert
Hello Team, As now we have feature to categorize Installed software in multiple self-defined category, can you please provide these customization in software installation and un-installation alert mechanism as well, so we can decide which alert should I receive on mail. Currently we have only three options - All, commercial and prohibited. Regards, Sumit Singh
On the MDM Location Data screen highlight if the device has not signed it's location in a long time
Hi, The new Location Data view you recently added to MDM is great however it would be great if devices that that had not synced their location in a long period of time were highlighted. For example in the screenshot below I have two Apple devices, one last shared its location 2 mins ago and the over was over 30 days ago. You can click on them to get the data but something like changing the background colour of the icon would be good. Thanks
Configuration - Disable auto update for Acrobat DC and Acrobat Reader DC
Hi, is there any way to deploy configuration to disable Acrobat DC (and Reader) auto update?
Thin client management
Hello Team, We have installed few thin client in our environment, how can we manage the those devices using desktop central? Regards, Sumit
Tie new Remote Office to existing Distribution Server
We're deploying a large number of sites which we'd like to organize according to their site codes. It would be excellent for organizational purposes if we could tie a new remote office to an existing DS without having to deploy a new DS. For example if we have a DS in a hub site where multiple primary offices terminate to their local MPLS cloud we'd like to have a DS there which services multiple site codes. With the current architecture we have to assign multiple sites to the site with the DS.
Desired - Patch Approval Status "By Application"
Currently we have configured all updates as "approved", and only today I have added my first "declined" patches, for the Application "SharePoint". This seemed to be the only option available, whereas what I would like to do, is automatically approve all Microsoft application, "Except" SharePoint, leaving those as "manually approve" only. I don't want to have to manually approve every patch, for every application. Can you improve the approval status configuration, to allow users to choose the approval
Move Desktop Central database to another drive
Hello, What is the easiest way of moving my current Desktop Central database from my current C partition to another drive/partition? Anthony
New User - some questions/problems
Hi there, we are currently evaluating DC for our company. I've stumbled across some problems and questions in handling, so maybe you can give me some hints: Test in columns sometimes gets cut off really bad, so i.e. in inventory - I can see OS version "Windows 7.." but not the "...SP1 (x64)". Apparently all column width seem to be fix. OK, they expand a little bit, when I remove columns from view, but still some are way too big while others too small. Is there any possibility to change (and save)
Change username in chat tool
I'd like to change the username in the chat tool so it doesn't just say "admin", but has my name. Can you add a username field to the admin account?
Details send to SDP through DC via agent in tray icon
Dear Team, Please help me out. I am using SDP 8.1 & DC 8.0, both are sync with each other and I deploy DC agent to all systems which are in domain. Now users are able to log call directly by using that tray icon "Send request to help Desk" where details as Host-name, domain & user-name are automatically picked but here I want to pick IP address also, so is it possible???? A scenario is as: ============================================== There is a problem in my PC to sudden shutdown Regards, ABCDEF
Android WiFi management
I'd like to manage the WiFi settings in my Androids in MDM.
Please build in installed application detection
Currently if you modify an existing software deployment, DC will attempt to reinstall software that is has already installed previously. This forces one to create another group or targeting so this doesn't happen. Support has told me the best way to detect if an application has been installed is to implement a pre-install script which is OK but it would be better if some kind of facility could be built in to check for some common conditions such as the existence of a file, existence of a registry
Harvest station IP when submitting to help desk
We are using desktop central in conjunction with Service Desk Plus. Is there a way to make the Desktop central agent automatically include the pc's ip or station name when submitting a ticket to the service desk?
A way to see which missing patches have been deployed?
Hi I regularly go into the Highly Vulnerable list and apply patches by machine. When I have a lot of systems outstanding it is very hard to keep track of which ones I have done. The configurations view doesn't show which machines each config has been applied to. Can the machines that a configuration is applied to be added as an optional column in the configurations view? Or is there another way to tell which machines I've already applied patches to? Right now I just end up re-applying them. Rob
Multiple Network Shares
I have a network consistent of multiple sites - of the sites I admin there are 4 of them which contain Synology NAS Servers using Synology's CloudStation and Cloud Sync which keeps the servers in sync with the same data across all 4 locations. Is there a way for me to specify Software Network Shares for each location? I have a few sites where the internet connection is spotty at best and transfer the software across the WAN link will pretty much take the building offline or take hours. I am using
Reboot Prompts
I would find it useful if I could have a prompt to users to reboot their PC when one is required to complete an install/patch. Ideally with a customizable message and the option to say how often it will remind them.
last reboot
Is it possible or would you consider including the last reboot (date/time) in the scanned information from a workstation/server?
Right click open link
Hi, A small little thing. Could you please enable it so that right click open in new tab works on the patch view, like it does on the computer. left opens the page, but right open new tab just give an empty screen
Internal DC Chat Room
Has there been any thoughts on adding a chat capability to DC? We have several technicians and it would be nice if there were a built in chat capability where we could all collaborate. I know there are chat programs available but we are limited to what we can use and what we are using now is being removed by our agency. Thanks, Mike
MAC Addresses
I have many computers that have multiple network adapters, which means there are multiple MAC addresses. Desktop Central is picking the wrong MAC address from my clients. Since it's doing this, Wake on LAN doesn't work until I manually enter the correct MAC address. Is there a way to support multiple MAC addresses? If so, can wake on LAN send packets to all MAC addresses to wake the computer up? Thanks TOm
MSI software deployment have the option to browse and associate an MST file
I know you can specify an msi transforms file (mst file) using the "MSIEXEC/EXE/ISS/Command" option within Software Deployment but to me it would seem a slicker solution if when you have the package type set as MSI you had the optional option to browse and associate a MST file. We use mst file with for most of our msi installers to customise the setup so at the moment we don't really set the package type to MSI that much instead we currently use the MSIEXEC/EXE/ISS/Command package type and specify
Support for Mac OS X Mavericks...
Hi Guys, Just wondering what your current support status is/plans are for Mac OS X Mavericks? Cheers, David.
HP warranty lookup not working on 80279
I've found that after updating to version 80279, the HP warranty lookup is still not working (despite being in the release notes). This is because the agent is not gathering the HP part number, only the service tag. Both are needed to query the warranty. If I manually enter the part number, it works fine after refreshing the page. I have rescanned HP computers with the current agent version and this data is not being picked up. It can be obtained via command line with the following command: wmic
