HP warranty lookup not working on 80279

I've found that after updating to version 80279, the HP warranty lookup is still not working (despite being in the release notes). This is because the agent is not gathering the HP part number, only the service tag. Both are needed to query the warranty. If I manually enter the part number, it works fine after refreshing the page. I have rescanned HP computers with the current agent version and this data is not being picked up.

It can be obtained via command line with the following command:
wmic /namespace:\\root\wmi path MS_SystemInformation get SystemSKU

Then you just need to parse out the end of the tag (#ABA, etc).

Is this something that can be added, or is there additional configuration I need to do in order to get these part numbers filled in on the asset pages?

I also identified why the warranty lookup is non-functional. By default, the product number is a hyphen in DC8, when the product number is not available. If that is removed from the query, the warranty lookup works. The functions for the HP warranty popout and the Scan Now buttons need to be changed to ignore that hyphen.

This is a workaround solution. The overall issue is that DC8 needs to properly query that product number from the BIOS on HP machines, and include it in the asset summary. I submitted a feature request for this as well.
