New User - some questions/problems
Hi there,
we are currently evaluating DC for our company. I've stumbled across some problems and questions in handling, so maybe you can give me some hints:
- Test in columns sometimes gets cut off really bad, so i.e. in inventory - I can see OS version "Windows 7.." but not the "...SP1 (x64)". Apparently all column width seem to be fix. OK, they expand a little bit, when I remove columns from view, but still some are way too big while others too small. Is there any possibility to change (and save) column views?
- The scheduled scan cannot be set to be more than once a day. Currently we use Spiceworks and scan our clients for changes every 3h. Also we are used to separate schedules for servers and clients. Can DC do that or will this be implemented maybe in a next release?
- Many times I try to click on entries, i.e. installed software in a computer asset, because I would like to directly move to that software entry for further details. this is not supported yet, as far as I can tell by now?
- I oftenly get strange results from my reports..sometimes there is a hint that I need to manually update my inventory data..but this message does not always appear in all dialoges and why doesn't it update automatically, when it recognises, it has to be updated?
- There is no "currunt/running actions" view, so I can see, if scanning some clients and rollout of an app is in progress or done. I have to stay on the site I forced the action and keep pressing F5 until everything is done.
- Apparently I cannot "push" apps to Apple or Android devices. They can only be installed by the enduser via MDM catalog, but I cannot remotely force the install. Is MDM to be developed further?
I am really curious about these things, because easy managing all functions is a key feature for a complex suite llike Desktop Central :)
