Software licences synchronised with SD+
It is annoying to have to keep re-entering details of software licences in both DC and SD+ It is also likely to lead to many mistakes on compliance if one is updated and not the other.
How to do a bulk "Scan Now" for Warranty Expiry dates
Hello, We have inputted the product number for our HP units and the Expiry Date is still now showing even after the Scheduled Inventory Scan takes place, the Expiry Date info does not populate or update. We have had to open each computer one by one and click on "Scan Now" to pull up Expiry Date info. We have a lot more HP units and this is not a very effective way to update this info. Please tell us there is a better way. Thanks!

Docking Station Identification in Desktop Central
I have been recently asked to try to find and identify a significant amount of hardware that we purchased and have shipped off to various branches, but do not seem to have recorded anywhere - specifically HP docking stations and a few LG and HP monitors (spreadsheets are only as accurate as those who update them, if those people are away, or others take over without their knowledge, things always gets messed up). I have been able to find the majority of the monitors through desktop central's reporting

Wrong HP warranty after Product code is entered and a warranty scan was initiated
Hi, following issues occured today in Desktop Central (Build 80234): Today a have put in some product codes for some of our HP machines to get the warranty from HP imported. Most of the machines now show the correct warranty expiring date but some machines show a wrong date. When i check the warranty for those machines directly with HP's Warranty Check Website the date is displayed correct, but Dekstop Central is getting a wrong date by the scan. How can this appear? Regards, Dirk
Inventory Summary Never Completes
Recently (before upgrading to the latest build), the inventory summary generation hangs on "Summary generation in progress..." I don't know if this is a related issue or not, but we recently deployed a new version of commercial software (new version number and updated name) but Desktop Central does not recognize the new software on all the systems, only a select few. It still shows the systems having the old version and name-even after scanning the systems individually.
Unable to add Custom Group in "User Collection"
Hi, I just evaluated Desktop Central, and I find it very helpful. But I do have issues when trying to deploy configurations/templates under the "User Collection". It doesn't allow me to add Custom Groups, which I already have. Although I can add configurations/templates under "Computer Collection". Any Advise? Thanks, Nas
Custom Report to Show Inventory based on AD OU?
We keep all the systems we have in inventory in an OU in AD called "Inventory" These systems all have DC Agent installed already for preliminary staging so they are cataloged in DC already. What I want to do is be able to pull a report in DC that will show me all the machines we have in the Inventory OU along with details such as model, warranty information, etc. I see in the active directory reports that I can view computers by OU, but that doesn't give me the option to incorporate all the granular

Help with configuring Prohibited software
Hi, Can someone offer some assistants configuring Prohibited software section in Desktop Central? It seems it really doesn't do to much... I've listed a number of programs that I don't want on my network, but users are still able to install them without problem. For a test, I added a program called "PDFKey" to the Prohibited list. It correctly detected it on machine. I then went ahead and installed it onto another machine. It showed up in the in the inventory, but the user did not get a warning

How do I force a new automated warrantly look up?
It seems as if DC keeps the original warranty expiration for a PC until I go into the inventory record and click "Scan Now". Is there anyway to force this look up to happen again, say for all PC's? FYI, it doesn't seem to do it during an asset scan.
Desktop Central - Software Metering Summary - Need computer list to have associated user names
We own Desktop Central at my work and we have a need to monitor who is using MS Access in our environment. Unfortunately we included MS Access in our original build because of a need at that time. Now we want to found out who is using it. Software Metering works and give us a list of what computers are using it but we need it to also include the list of users. The reason we need this is we would like to use a GPO policy at a user level to start blocking usage. So we need a list of who is using

Inventory Database Integration with ServiceDesk +
One of the features I love about DesktopCentral is that one Agent can do all of the scanning and be displayed on both DC and SD+ but integration is limited. Asset Tag information is not shown in DC Shipping and Warranty dates acquired by DC are not shown in SD+ System information is now shown in SD+ when DC agent is the one doing the scanning. it would be great if all of the information is display on either SD+ or DC.
