Action Log Viewer shows installed yet pc not in inventory
Upgraded to latest version. Have windows 10 computers on the network that aren't showing up in desktop central. Modified the gpo script as specified in https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/agent_installation_windows_gpo.html. Action Log viewer in Desktop Central says installed. I know for a fact the pc is on but it's not showing in inventory. What gives?

How to run assetscanlock.vbs silent
Hi Support, We have a quite a few laptops that have the asset scanning locked, I have followed your document regarding the renaming the repository and running the assetscanlock.vbs file. Desktop Central reporting incorrect OS
I have noticed a few machines are reporting back saying they have Windows Vista, or Windows XP when they actually have Windows 7. Do I need to do something in order to correct this, as scanning the inventory on the machine doesn't update it.

Is there any way to see the name of a disk that is currently inserted in a computers CD/DVD drive.
Desktop Central Mac Agent Root Account
In Desktop Central 9 Build No:92022, I'm trying to configure the Mac Agent settings. There is a username and password, but username shows "root" and it won't let me change it. We are running Mac OS X 10.11.3, and by default, the root account is disabled. I'm assuming it is best practice to leave it disabled? What are the options to get the agent working, or are we required to enable the root account?

Ip change not updating
I have seen on a few occasion that a computer will show online in desktop central but yet scheduled task don't work. Sometimes when this happens I noticed that when I ping the computer I am getting a different IP address than what is showing. Now the quickest way I have found to fix this is a reboot. How often is the agent supposed to update the IP?
Create group based in IP range / Subnet

Scope of Management - Add Computers option does nothing and won't let me add computers.
When I am in Scope of Management and I click on Add Computers the Add Computers page comes up. I click on Select Computers for my domain. The Select Computers dialog box opens and when I navigate to the computer I want to add I check the box. When I click ok at the bottom to add the computer it does nothing. I tried to add the name to the Selected Computers option at the bottom and it does nothing either. Any help would be much appreciated. Ed

I am in the process of counting users and devices for a Microsoft contract order. Is there any guidance on how to best use Desktop Central to assist on counting? Hello @ all, I stumbled across a problem when I wanted to add licensing information to DesktopCentral: For Example: Adobe Creative Cloud. There are subscriptions for single products, i.e. Photoshop, and then there are subs for the whole suite (all products). Let's say I have 15 subscriptions. 5x Photoshop & 5x AfterEffects & 5x whole suite. So as far as I see now, I have to add licensing information for every single Adobe Cloud product? Custom Report - Local Group Members
I wish to create a report on anyone with local administration rights. I can do this using the 'Local Group Members' report but I wish to exclude such members as Administrator from the report. Best process for mass moves or mass deletes
So we are considering adding some remote offices organizational reasons and also have a weekly task of decomission of old servers. Mass adds are pretty straight forward but what is the best process for mass deletes or selecting devices to mass migrate to the new Remote Offices? The only way i can see now is find the device check the box and either hit move or remove system.

Differences in Inventory Modules between ServiceDesk Plus and Desktop Central
We are trying to get our inventory under control and managed in a more effective way. We have both ServiceDesk Plus and Desktop. They both seem to have inventory modules in them. Inventory Scan - Not detecting installed software properly
Hello, I have noticed on multiple machines within my network that the scanning results for installed software is incomplete. Rescanning has no affect and it continues to display the same items. Many of which say that only 3 or 4 pieces of software are installed. Reinstalling the agent has not helped either. The total number of affected machines is unknown but I know at least 10 that have this issue. Any thoughts as to why the scans are only pulling partial information? I am currently using build
Can not get a pc to inventory scan
I have a 1 pc in my inventory that will not perform an inventory scan. the only error I get is that that the scan failed. I had more than 1 originally then support told me to update to Build No: 91032. After updating all but 1 were able to perform the inventory scan. I uploaded the logs of the one machine and have not heard back from support since they said they would analyze it, this was over a week ago that i had uploaded the log file. my support case is Request ID :##14876513##. Netstat Open Ports in DC
Is there any way to get open ports as reported by netstat into DC? I don't think its built in but is there anyway to get information from a script into reports or somewhere under inventory? Trying to capture this information for change management requirements we have after updating critical systems.

License Keys Retrieval
We originally purchased Service Desk Plus and Desktop Central to help manage and track our software and the License Keys for all of the software. With recent changes made with some of the Software Manufacturers, we are no longer capable of retrieving those keys. Show AD computer description on the Scope of Management Screen
Is there a way or can you add the ability to see the active directory computer description on the Scope Of Management screen? This would be very helpful when we are looking at computers that fail to install the agent or new agents as they are released. Issue with Software Inventory
Hello, We have been uninstalled some softwares in some PCs through desktop central, but desktop central shows the softwares are still installed, I already run the scan many times, but the softwares still exist. This give us issue to get accurate information about softwares installed in our PCs. For example, desktop central shows that there are 2 versions of Adobe Flash Player installed in some PCs, but we checked directly that PCs, only 1 version is installed. Can somebody help me to solve this issue?
Old flash versions still showing in inventory - DC90111
Hello DC people, DC version : 90111 There have been many new versions of Flash player in january. The fact is : now I have 5 differents versions of it in DC inventory (see screenshot), which looks like a bug because some computers are reported to have 3 or 4 versions installed. I have checked on the computers and there are no signs of the olders versions. Others softwares don't have this problem in DC (only 1 version - the good one - is shown).
