View under All Configurations
Under All Configurations the Global and My Views isn't working properly. The program keeps defaulting to an odd view that displays three configurations. If I select the already bullet filled Global View it will display the rest of the configurations but will not stay in this view over any period of refresh cycles.

How does setting Approve, Decline, Or unapprove affect patching. I know approve and unapprove will cause a patch to be installed or not installed during patch automation, but what does decline do, and how will it affect patching?
Patch download failure; Access is denied
Hello, I have version 8 installed and a direct connection to the internet. Whenever I try to install a patch to any system the download fails and I get an access is denied. I open the logs and use the URL to the patches directly and I can download them. The patches themselves are being stored on a full control shared directory on my network. How to export report with diagram pie or bar graph
Hi.. I`m user Desktop Central, i want to ask can desktop central generate report with diagram. for example i generate inventory report -> Computers by OS it`s show the report diagram and text, but after export to pdf or csv is only show the text file. Could you please tell me where on the desktop central server directory the custom packages are stored? i'm trying to restore from a backup but I don't know where they are stored.
CPU Usage at 100%
I was wondering if anyone else has seen this yet. I just upgraded to Desktop Central 8 and my existing sites work prefect but I setup a new remote site and anytime the agent gets installed, all the computers peg the processor at 100% usage. Services like DCSWMeter DCCONFIG DCONDemand all eat up processor until it hits 100%. Has anyone seen this yet?

I set a user configuration (message box). After a while, I tested and it worked fine. Then, I deleted the configuration and it still appearing in the client computer. Why is this happening? How can I cancel it?

Hi We are getting the above error on one of our WIndows 7 x64 machines when we scan it. It is showing as having 35 updates waiting and failing as the PC needs a reboot. The PC has been rebooted and there are no updates waiting for it. Does anyone know what is causing this? We are using Desktop Central 8.0.0 (80000). Thanks.

Desktop Central Question
My question is would the desktop central software be ideal for a computer repair service company to better help serve there customers remotely? I ask this because most home users will have a dynamic ip address that changes from day to day. Will that effect the communication between the clients computer and the server?

We are having some issues with our DC 8000 crashing on Windows 7x64 SP1 workstations. Generating patch report
I want to create a report for all the machines that I patched during a maintenance window. Apparently, there is a report for healthy, vulnerable, and highly vulnerable machines, but that does not help me with auditing of the machines that were just patched, and showing the recent patches over a certain date range on a certain subset of machines. I try to update the Desktop central hotfix using updatemanager.bat ......but only command prompt is running and close...without the new update screen window comeout....previuosly i update without any issue.... any ideahow to resolve it.

Adding Customized Columns to Inventory View
Hi Guys! Is there a way to add customized columns in inventory view? I mean, I have some internal classifications for the computers, such as A, B and C, and I would like to view this also in Desktop Central. The way I do it right now is to export inventory to CSV and then add this column in Excel, But I don´t want to use Excel anymore! I want to have only Desktop Central to manage my whole inventory. How to run a custom report showing servers/desktops and what patches are missing
I've been banging my head against this but I have to provide a list of patches missing on each server to look like Computer Name, Bulletin, PatchReleaseDate, Status, Severity where the patch may not have been deployed yet but should be deployed in the future. Does somebody have any sql for this?
Faulty development trends for DC?
Hello Desktop Central team and community, (sorry bad english) We use DC for almost one year and we think it is a good product to patch our windows server. But when I see the roadmap and the postings in this messageboard I see a faulty development trend for Desktop Central. We miss many core features in the product and a better/accurately test of new Desktop Central builds. How to sync DC with real life....
Hi, I have a DC server running from one year, but the last six months has not been managed at all. The result is that the pc, policy and other objects in DC are not in sync with the real equipment presents in the company. I.e. I have several pc not anymore in active directory but that are presents in DC inventory. How can I fix this situation ? Should I delete the whole DB , if so how ? The problem also affects the license as we're running out of space as many "dead" pc are still presents. Also

expired warranty
I have 164 computer(s) with expired warranty. It's false But I'am unable to change shipping date (shipping date take the date when desktopmanager is installed, it's not the true shipping date). If I can change shipping date and configure the default warranty time (1 year), it will be awesome.

Migrating to SQL Desktop Central 8
There is an issue with the mysql_mssql_restore.bat file when trying to restore the DB when migrating to MS SQL. The bat file is trying to reference %Java_Home% and %Server_Home%, but the variables are not set in the batch file which will return directory does not exist errors when trying to run the batch file. I added the line 'call .\setCommonEnv.bat' into the batch file, which sets the variables. This line is present in the batch file to backup the database 'mysql_mssql_backup.bat', but missing

Just received the email announcing DC 8 has been released... if I'm reading correctly we've been given 2 new features? SQL Back end compatibility and the ability record remote sessions? Seems a bit underwhelming... considering the various requested post here about building out some of the existing features... Am I missing something?

Wake On LAN target limit
I've just started using Desktop Central 7 (Build 70246). I'm trying to set up a scheduled wake up with the Wake on LAN tool. It seems that the Wake On LAN tool only does 10 targets. When adding computers to the task, I can select all, click okay, and all my targets will by listed. Once submitted though, it will only list 10. Under Wake on LAN tasks, for summary of the task, it shows T=10 (only 10 targets). If I edit the task, only 10 targets are listed. Right now I'm testing on 40 targets, if
Upgrade Third Party Apps
Desktop Central 8 can automatically deploy patches, but it cannot automatically upgrade software to a new version. For example, it can deploy patches for Adobe Reader 9, but not automatically upgrade to Adobe Reader X. I realize one can use the "Software Deployment" feature to deploy Reader X, but it would be nice if an upgrade feature was integrated with Patch Management, so it doesn't have to be handled separately. Can you please implement this feature in a DC 8 hotfix? Thanks!
