Win10 Standard Start Screen
Is there a way to push a default Windows 10 start menu to all our on net windows10 computers by using Desktop central. We are trying to stay away from creating another GPO to update a users startup menu. Has anyone had any instance to do this and was it successful?
Can I replace a shortcut on every workstation based on current shortcut?
Hi All, I have a little problem I am attempting to work through. I have about 400 workstations which all have printer mapping script shortcuts in the folder. C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp\ These shortcuts point to a network shared location which is about to change. We have about 40 different scripts in that location and depending on what printers you get that determines which script you point to. Ideally I would be able to push out some job that looks at the target
Install software to new PC on group
Hello. I configured a template to install software on group of PCs (PC1, PC2, PC3). Template was successfully installed on this group of PCs (PC1, PC2, PC3). But if I'm trying to add a PC4 in this group then a template doesn't install to this PC4. A template needs to be restarted for software to be installed. How to install this template dynamically for ALL PC on this group in condition where this group is changing dynamically?
Desktop Central Web console doesn't open on port 8020.
Hi, Since I have updated Manage Engine Desktop Central to 10.0.275.I cannot open web console on port 8020. I tried installing Windows Server 2012 patches, but the issue is still there. Any solution for this issue. I can open web console on port 8383 but I cannot communicate with any of my workstations on the network. Any solution for this issue as well. Remote WOL without Agent Computer
Hi, I read here that when trying to use WOL to a remote site with no agent, the magic packet will get sent as Unicast. Are you talking about a Unicast packet to the actual physical host IP we are trying to "wake up" or a directed broadcast to the remote subnets broadcast address? Being treated as a unicast routing? Sofware Catalogue - users should be able to install everything
Hi, could be very nooby question, but is it possible to set up a software catalogue with software, that users should be allowed to install but not forced to, even if this software requires Administrator privileges? For example Adobe Reader requires Administrator Password for installation. Currently I have Adobe Reader in the Self-Service Portal and can see it on a client machine. But clicking install, I need to enter an account with Admin privileges. So is it correct, that I need to create a deployment

I do not see this one listed in patch management. You are also not detecting the KB4458321 as being installed. But you do list the superseded Update Rollup 23 For Exchange 2010 SP3 (KB4340733) and indicated that it is a missing patch. When in fact i have superseded RU23 and went straight to RU24. Hi I've created an automated deployment that patches MS and third party patches. I've got several third party patches approved but they're not installing. I just realized they are 'awaiting download'. Do I need to do something special to download third party patches? Thanks, Robert

Issues with Deploying Outlook & Excel Add-in
I am having difficulty deploying SAP's Outlook and Excel Add-on. They are both .exe files and when I try to click Install through the self service portal I get the following error: "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Install package." I am able to install these .exe files locally on my computer. I also don't have any issues with deploying other .exe files.

Hello, due to it-policy I wanted to remove MS OneDrive from all workstations. On some workstations DC reports the uninstall failed but when I look at the list of installed software in the control center of windows OneDrive is not listed as installed. How do I remove these false entries from DC? All workstations are fully patched Windows 7 machines.

User notification
HI, After updating to Build No:90023, some users are now presented with a install/shutdown msg. Shutdown Blocked - Configuration in Progress and they have to select an option, which all involves them to shutdown their machine. This is when having the patch deploy policy as do not reboot and all notifications to the user turned off. This was not a problem before the Build No:90023

I am curious to hear anyone's experience using DC's OS Deployment feature. I have been using Microsoft MDT for 5+ years and am having some difficulty making the switch. There are a couple of things that bother me with DC OSD. 1: Why can't I import a Windows ISO for deployment instead of REQUIRING capture of a target machine? 2: Why do I need to create applications just for OSD? Mouse-Problem with Secure USB Configuration - Desktop-Central 10.0.321
After installing Build 10.0.321 the USB-Secure Configuration block USB-Mouse. No configuration changes were made since the last month. The configuration for the mouse is on unblocking. The mouse does`'t work. If I set all types to unblock the mouse is working. Does anybody have the same Problem.

After updating to Desktop Central 10.0.287 I cannot export reports
After updating Desktop Central to version 10.0.287, I am now unable to export any of the canned, software inventory reports, specifically the Software Product Keys report. I was prompted to change my settings for personal information that may be included in the report. I switched this to "let the technician decide" and saved the setting. Once I did this, I tried to export the report to a .PDF, .CSV, and a .XLSX and when I click on the button, nothing happens. I went back and changed the export setting
Unable to set Mobile device wifi restriction
In Restrictions -> Network and Roaming -> wifi , when I try to set Always Off I get a warning saying "You cannot allow Disabling of Cellular Data and simultaneously keep Wifi Always off, due to a requirement of internet connectivity for server-device communication" Whilst I understand this, there isn't a setting available for ensuring data is Always On. Thought there used to be though? DC ver 10.0.291 Can anyone help? Thanks

I just updated to 10.0.310 and see now that now you can scan HP warranty. Is there a way to automatically have it scan all managed computers for warranty details? Also is there an inventory report based on when the pc warranties are expired? Or report showing all pc's with their warranty data?

Hi, since last friday there is a message on the dc login page telling that there is a new build 10.0.321 of desktop central. But if I follow the link and navigate to https://www.manageengine.com/products/service-desk/plugin-service-packs.html the latest listed build is 10.0.291. To make it completely strange: When looking into the build information of our dc it says we're running buld 10.0.310. What the heck is going on there??
