Installing missing patches during deployment.

Installing missing patches during deployment.

Hi

Although applications can be installed automatically after an OS deployment, it should also be possible to automatically apply approved patches.

At present the deployment process is slow and/or disjointed. Following OS deployment and automatic install of the DC Agent, a PC is still not listed under 'Managed System' in patch management until a patch scan has been completed. We therefore have to go to Inventory->Computers, find the new PCs to initiate a patch scan, waiting for it to complete, then going back to patch management to set-up a manual deployment.

Granted automatic deployment policies can be created, but these will not be initiated until the patch scan has been completed. It takes too long, and there is no easy way to track progress.

It wold be really helpful to have the ability to include patching in the OS deployment template, and to display the progress in the 'deployment status'. The reporting does not have to be comprehensive, 'Carrying out patch scan' & 'Applying patches' would be enough.
