Business Views Error
Hi, My opmanager has been working fine for some days, until this morning when I have began seeing 'Error' when I try accessing a business view. How do you assign mtce past midnight, OpManager insists that 00:30 is wrong it the start period is 23:00 The best you can manage is 23:00 to 23:45, then 00:00 onwards, leaving a gap of 15 mins
ESXi Host - Unable to fetch Managed Object details for the object
Hi, I've seen the above error mentioned a few times on the forums but I haven't been able to resolve it so far. I was importing a new ESXi host into OpManager and while it was in progress my colleague decided to restart the OpManager server. Now the host that I added doesn't appear in any views but if I try to add it I get a message saying that it already exists. Templates and OID's
We are in the last throws of evaluating OPManager with a view to implementing it within the next two weeks and have a couple of questions. 1. When we create a Device Templates for particular devices we enter the OID we want queried, but how does the response tie in with the OID. For example: OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.3845.3.1.1.1.1 This should return either 0 : Metaframe Application Server or other : Unknown How does the template interpret the OID response. Tables in Reports dont show all data when printed
When printing a "At a Glance Report" generated on the information stored about a Switch, the "Display Name" of each Port is not fully displayed. There appears to be no way of expanding the column so that when the report is printed the full details can be seen. How can this be achieved ?
Can I change the domain of a server device?
Our company was purchased and we had to migrate all of our servers from one domain to another. So my question is how can I change the domain of all of our servers in OpManager? The "Rediscover Now" action appears to work and it shows the correct IP address. However, the credentials for the new domain fail so our monitoring no longer works. One strange thing I noticed is that the "Asset Details" shows the device name with the old domain! The only way we've found to get around this problem is to delete
Sort by Columns
I would like to propose a minor enhancement to Opmanager. Where ever columns are used to display data, can they be made "sortable". In the attached screen shot of the Downtime Schedules, the column headers are static. It would be really good if they could be made "sortable" so that you can organise the view by Name, Status, Type etc. This would be ideal if this was the default for all views of this sort. thanks
Business Snapshot view is a joke
When I created this, it looked like this: But in OpManager it ends up looking like this: I don't see how that is useful. All the server names are missing and it's ugly.
How to customize the Snapshot page?
I see several threads from 2008 and 2009 claiming you plan to implement this "in the future" but no solid road map for a seemingly necessary feature such as customizing the snapshot page. Has this feature been implemented yet? I'm amazed Op Manger seems to think that a one size fits all is sufficient for every client when this is clearly not the case. I do not wish "disk utilization" graphs on my snapshot page. How do I remove them and replace them with other monitors?

WMI Access
Hello, After getting the SNMP working, I am now struggling with getting WMI working. This is monitoring servers that are not part of a domain. I have installed Opmanager on one of these servers, and it can communicate fine with itself; ie WMI and SNMP all good. However when trying to connect to another server, the SNMP is working, however the WMI just keeps failing with Access Denied messages. I have problem with running SNMP monitoring software (Mikrotik TheDude) and OpUtils. This cause problem with SNMP queries from one IP address. How I can setup source IP address for SNMP queries for OpUtils? Example: I have 2 IP addresses: 10.10.10.1 and 10.10.20.1 on the server. Can I set IP address 10.10.20.1 for OpUtils? Hi I trying to integrate OpUtils user management with Windows domain domain controller. But there is a strange error when I tried to add existing AD user into OpUtils user. I received error: User name cannot contain invalid characters. Our AD user names contains a dot as a separator. Why is dot "invalid character" in Oputils ?
Device Icons
This has probably been asked before, but I would like to add additional images\icons for use with Device Templates. For example we have a Citrix and iLo template with which we would like to use a different Device Image. I have the images\icons already but am at a loss as to how to add them. Network Interfaces - No data
Hello, Is there something that I need to do in order for my network interfaces to have rx and tx data for them? I have discovered the card and they are both sitting there under the interfaces tab, however when I drill into each one all the data/graphs/etc that indicate the throughput are blank. If I use the MibBrowser I can retrieve information (for example ifOutOctets.11:-->441473950 ifOutOctets.12:-->3148583049) but nothing is showing up in OpManager when I go into the NIC. Any ideas?
Stop monitoring of network ports on mass
I would like to stop monitoring ports on our edge switches that are used for workstation connectivity and only monitor the uplink ports. Is there a way to perform this operation on mass as opposed to one port at a time via the port snapshot view?

Issue with Run Command usage of Batch script

Hello, We have a large number of cisco 3550 & 3560 switches, we cannot seem to turn off the "Ports Up/Port Down Alarms !!. We have turned off various snmp trap processors in admin, but this does not work !! What do we need to do to stop these alarms ? Regards Stephen

I have several TrippLite Smart Pro UPS that we are trying to monitor. Using SNMP, I have been able to monitor line voltage, giving me at least a notification when the power goes out. OpManager develpment keeps promising future support of these devices, but as of the build 8721, no go. I keep getting the alarm "errors rate for Interface eth0 is some%, threshhold...". The problem is, there is no interface listed under interfaces for these units. So I can change the monitoring or edit the threshholds
Disk Monitors? Linux or ESX?
Hello, I'm a little confused about using OPManager in the case where I have an ESX or Linux server. I'm not sure how to go about setting up, let's say, disk monitors. I'm using HP DL380 servers as ESX and one as Linux Openfiler and I'd like to be able to report if I have a disk failure in one of the RAID configs but I'm not sure how to go about this. Should I configure some kind of agent on these servers or is there something I can do directly with SNMP or SNMP traps. I'm a little new at OPManager

Why are there still rows in the database for servers that were deleted?
We've deleted several servers from OpManager that no longer need to be monitored. Even though the servers are no longer accessible from the interface, there are still rows in the ProfileCriteria and ThresholdRuleList tables that refer to these servers. Is there a reason why these rows still exist in the database? If not, do you have any utilities that can clean up the database? Thanks, Frank

Hello, I am just in the process of setting up a proof of concept for OpManager, and am having some issues with SNMP and WMI. I have installed OpManager and have setup one server within OpManager. This server is the same server that OpManager is installed on. This server has SNMP feature enabled. The server is Windows 2008 R2. at-a-glance interface reports
When i run the at-a-glance report on a gigabit switch interface the bytes per second cap out at 200k The Mbps show up accurately though at around 750 Mbps. Is there a way i can fix this.
Cannot change SQL db password in OpManager's db config file
Hi, Im trying to change the database password in OpManager's database configuration file to meet the change made in the SQL server, but im not able to do so as when im trying to save the change it says 'DB with this name already exists'. Allow users access to dashboards
Hello, Running Opmgr 8721. Is it possible to give a read only user access to a specific dashboard? When I setup a RO only account and give him access to a business view, he is unable to see any dashboards. When I give him RO rights to all business views he can than see the dashboards. Issue when schduling a report unable to add separate email addresses.
Have scheduled a disk space report from the report itself but when adding multiple email addresses the report does not get sent. Also if you do this within the schdule report in adminstration it says enter valid email address even tho you have already enter 2 addresses correctly with a ; or ,.
alarm when an interface comes up

Problem with time
Hi all, I have problem with time on received messages. Time on server is OK, but I get the message with one hour late. This is configuration in Notification Profile: This is mail message: Message: $message Device: $displayName Category: $category Error Condition: $stringseverity Generated at: $strModTime ----------> problem!!!!!!!!! $displayName IP Address: $DeviceField(ipAddress) $displayName For example, I get mail in 12:00, and the Generated time is 11:00!!! hi working whit OpManager, inside the server option we have added some servers whit operating system win 2000 server, win 2003 server and Linux, the fact is that even though the servers have been dropped, the OpManager always identified as up. the test performed was to add these servers but as desktop and now if identify when dropped and when they are up. the OpManager will have some bug in the server section? or whats happen? thanks.
