Bug: Change Workflow and CAB members
We've noticed that when adding/removing members of a CAB, the modified member does not get the approval email if the change type is linked to a workflow. Example: New member is added to CAB, new change ticket is created, approval request is triggered
Change approval Levels should trigger automatically
I am defining workflow for Change. During that I need multiple approval levels which should be triggered automatically once change reaches to Approval stage. Once level 1 approved, should trigger 2nd level and then 3rd, only then change status update
[SDF-84206] Change Calendar - Day View
A "day" view option on the change calendar with a gantt chart view based on scheduled start and end dates would serve to identify overlapping changes and identify any potential conflicts if they overlap. It would be useful during change advisory board
[SD-94731] CAB recommendations are not added when a change is carried out by non SDAdmin role
Ticket [## 6881697 ##] builds 11200/11202 We have upgraded our Change workflows to include Approval step. I have made sure that all CAB members are added in CAB lists and now every time when a Change is carried out by a standard technician without Admin
build 11139 Issues - Users / Technicians unable to see and add cab members on change requests
Since upgrading to build 11139 none of the technicians can select cabs or cab members to send approval notifications. Only administrators have that capability. I already have ticket #6713115 open for this ticket, but no one from ServiceDesk support is
[SDF-91868] Change Recommendations for Copied CR's
We've noticed in the newest releases that recommendation emails get auto sent after an already APPROVED CR is copied. As this new copied change gets moved through stages, once it hits the Approval stage, any past approvers will be sent a recommendation.
Change levels
With the introduction of change levels, it seems each level is limited to 10 participants question Can the change level requirement be removed so that its the same as previous, if not can the limit of 10 participants be increased or removed We have no
[Term of the Day]: CAB
Term of the Day “Change Advisory Board” Definition — What is CAB and what it does? The CAB is the most widely known as Change Advisory Board in ITSM. They are a group of people who assist the Change Manager in reviewing the change. The CAB member can be anyone within the organization who has good knowledge and skill in evaluating particular change, there are no rules in selecting a CAB member. Change Manager Approves/Rejects the change based on his CAB member's review and advice. Importance
[Blog] Responsibilities of Change Advisory Board (CAB) and Change Manager
Everyone knows change is never easy, but often quite necessary. The statement is never truer than in IT. Solid change management capability will help you boost your ITSM maturity, break out of the "firefighting mode," align IT activity with business objectives, and transform IT from a service provider to a business innovator. However, these benefits don't come easily. Change management is one of the most difficult ITIL processes to get right.
Submit change to specific Scheduled CAB
Hi there, Can there be some functionality built so that there is a CAB schedule / calendar so that when changes are technically approved ready for CAB, there is a choice for which CAB it gets presented in? Example #1 - Submit to specific CAB A change has an implementation date of 01/12/2019. A change is technically approved on 01/10/2019. The change gets submitted to CAB on 05/10/2019 or stays in Awaiting CAB Approval for over a month. It's probably too early to be submitted to a CAB in October.
How to select CAB for change management based on Change template
I need a script to select CAB based on change template :) Regards.
Outstanding CAB approvals

I only want to send a notification to the Change Owners and MAYBE Change Manager when a CAB Member Rejects in the Recommendation screen. changing notification groups on change workflows
Hi I have a query about change management in the Servicedesk. We have version 9.3 Build 9308 MySQL. I have created a new workflow on how a specific change is created/submitted/approved etc, What I want is for certain technicians to be notified when a change is approved. Is this possible? I could only see options for 'change roles' to be notified - one them is CAB. I have created a new cab but I don't see how to change the option. Can you give me some advice? Thanks Emma
Automatically Approve Change Based on CAB Recommendation?
Is there a way to enact the "Approve" action in the Approval stage in a Change Workflow once all CAB members have recommended? Since we have trouble utilizing the ChangeManager role and Change Approver role because there are few separate entities that handle the CR besides Requester, Technician, CAB, and Reviewers, we would like the CAB approval to initiate the status change rather than having a separate role have to go in and approve the change. If this is something that can be handled by custom
Change Management - Change Workflow
I feel there are too many approval stages in the default workflow. Default workflow looks as follows: 1. Requester submits RFC 2. Change Manager approves RFC 3. Change Owner creates plan 4. Change manager approves plan 5. CAB makes recommendations 6. Change manager approves again I would like to eliminate step 4. Is it possible to change the Stage2 Planning from "on approval" to "on complete"? After the plan has reached "on complete" I would like the CAB to review and skip the approval
Approval Status - CAB Approvals
Is there a mechanism to trigger a status change once all the CAB recommendations have been Approved and/or Rejected on a change? As a change manager, when dealing with a lot of changes it would be really helpful if on the grid I could see which changes are now pending some action from me. Currently I have columns for Stage and Status which would have any in a CAB approval displaying "Approval" / "Approval Pending" This is complicated because it requires scrolling through all changes to check the
How to report on Changes affecting Service Categories
How can we show all changes that pertain to a specific service? We don't see the option to filter by Service Category (or services affected). We actually have a CAB meeting. How can we show all items that are to be reviewed by a CAB? Thanks, Adam

ServiceDesk Plus Snippet Of The Week | Why do you need to auto assign a change manager to a change?
Let's say Heather Graham is the change manager for all the network related changes in your organization. Your IT help desk receives complaints from multiple users of the engineering department regarding intermittent network connection. Your technicians have found the root cause to be a faulty router that has to be replaced. Therefore a technician created a new change, which in the first place has to be authorized by the change manager. But he created the change without knowing who the change manager

CAB member views
Any tips for helping CAB members view changes pending their review? Any tips for helping change managers quickly see which changes have updated CAB recommendations or CAB recommendation status counts? We're trying to leverage the CAB system but we're struggling with simple ways for both sides of the approvals and recommendations quickly finding ALL the tickets they need to act on. Checking each ticket manually is time consuming and ineffective. Anyone out there have any ideas?
Change Approval stage - add 'select all' checkbox to 'Add CAB Members' window
(proposed with respect to ServiceDesk Plus 9003 Enterprise capabilities) When we are selecting CAB members to add to the Change 'Approval' stage, we usually add all the users in the selected 'CAB' (depending on the CAB group, this can be quite a few users). Build 9003 behaviour: Must select checkbox for CAB users individually Enhancement request: Provide a 'select all' checkbox in the 'Add CAB Members' window
Report on members of a cab

Approve each Change Status \ phase seperately
Hello, Is it possibly to have Approvals for each Change Status \ Phase seperately? I mean, once the Request For a Change (RFC) is made, CAB Member and Change Manager could Approve (or Reject) e.g. Planning, Implementation, Testing, Release to Production and Completed status\ phase each seperately. Also, will there be a multi-level approvals for Changes? Regards lakend
CAB question
Is it possible to set ServiceDesk Plus Enterprise to allow the CAB member to view the request details within the web portal? For example: Request type is Change Request Requester is: John Doe Under Approvals: Don Smith is a CAB member. We want Don Smith to be able to view this particular request when he signs into the ServiceDesk web portal. Currently he can't unless he is the requester, or the particular request is part of his Dept, site, etc. Problem with that is we don't want him to be
