Can't connect to SD+ web interface from linux systems
Whenever I try to connect to our SD+ site from a linux PC it just hangs. It works fine from Macs and PCs running Windows. I tried it from the command line using wget and that hangs as well. I can see the initial request in the logs, but nothing after that and nothing comes back. Version 7 Scanning
Im having a few problems with printer scanning. Mainly none of our Canon IR devices are being populated with device details despite being configured with public as the community string. Also more a feature request, but could we have a scanned IP address field for printers, because if i want to give a meaningful name to a printer then i have to overtype the Product Name field, which in a lot of cases contains the IP address. Notifications dramatically reduce performance
Running build 6010. SMTP server is Domino 6.5.2. With notifications turned on, calls take 20 seconds to update. Without notifications, calls update in 2 seconds. Has anybody else experienced this :?:
Service Desk fails to start
Hi, new install of everything. app server: w2k3 R2 STD x64 DB Server: w2k3 R2 STF x86 get the errors below in eventlog when trying to start: There may be a configuration problem: please check the logs. and There were 1 failed launches in a row, each lasting less than 300 seconds. Giving up.

i can't receive mail from the opmager on my account their is a message appear when i checked on the mail server setting that the domain is missing despite that i have checked on the domain and the port and they are working properly
Upgrading 4110 to 4112
We currently use Adventnet ServiceDesk v 4112 and I have been asked to upgrade to the latest version. I am Building a test version I have found http://archives.adventnet.com/service-desk/ helpful in finding software versions however I cannot find 4112. Helpdesk provided a link that fixed this. Sorting On UDF columns has corrupted my Changes view
We added some user defined fileds to the changes screen and added them into the view list of changes. When we went to sort by this column the screen crashed. Now when I go into the changes screen inview list mode, it is blank. I've tried deleting my cookies and temp internet file to no avail. Susspect it must be a record in the database. Can anybody point me to how to get my view back. Many thanks
login details not saving
Since the upgrade to version 6 build 6011, even though a user clicks "keep me logged in" on the login screen their username and password does not get remembered... has this feature been removed because it was always their in previous versions....
SD+ 7 upgrade from Std to Ent
I have been told that I could start with SD+ 7 version standard and upgrade later to Entreprise. I didn't find any technical information on this. Perhaps is it as simple as changing the licence number from standard to entreprise to unlock the features ? On the other hand, is a downgrade possible ?
Report on "responded date"
Hi I would like to do a report on all request with status Open or On Hold where the technician hasn�t responded yet (responded date = NULL). I would also like a report showing all requests (Open or On hold) and the latest respond date (if any). Thanks, Sandra
IE Polish language problem,
Hi There is a problem In IE 6&7 when trying to enter text with polish letters with combination left "alt+l"(L) and "alt+e" cursor goes in position justify left and justify center instead of entering proper letter. (in firefox everything is fine) sdesk ver 6012 regards bart
Cannot login after restore the database

Service Desk Plus Serice Fails
The service for Service Desk Plus Fails after running for a while. Randomly fails. I have set it up to automatically restart the service upon failure, but when this happens it keeps failing. The only thing i have been able to do to get it running again is to reboot the server. It might run for serveral days before giving more of the same issues. I have looked in the event logs and all that is there is everts that say "The ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus service terminated unexpectedly." That is it...

Upgrading to version 7 from 5
Hello, We are going to move to SD+ version 7 in the near future. We would like to install version 7 onto a new server as well. What would be the best process for this upgrade? Would it be best to install version 7 on the new server, then just restore the backups from version 5 to version 7? would this work? if not could you please provide details on the best way to migrate to a new server with version 7. thanks!
HELP! hotfix 6000 broke our service desk
Hello, Trying to upgrade from version 5507 to 6000. Install went fine, but now server wont start, it just sits on Application Layer Started then a bunch of ..................... go across the splash screen. Im trying to ininstall the hotfix now but the same thing is happening, the server wont start, in our event viewer this error is being logged: "Can't open and lock time zone table: Table 'mysql.time_zone_leap_second' doesn't exist trying to live without them" Please help no one can access SD+ at
Download version 6
Where can I download the install for version 6? I have a "somewhat" working version of 6 and since the upgrade to 7 won't be available for awhile, I want to backup my current install and re-install as I seem to be getting some errors in my event log due to ServiceDesk and wrapper and a couple of things I was hoping a fresh install would fix but of course I didn't keep the original file used to install SD+ 6 Chris

I tried to set up mail accounts in both the General and Admin areas, but have had no luck sending any emails. When I tried to use pop.mail.yahoo.com or pop.mail.yahoo.com.au I got Sending email failed Reason: socket error. And then tried setting up another account with pop.gmail.com and got Sending email failed Reason:530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first k13sm1668484pyf I am receiving emails OK. ServiceDesk Plus Change request unavailable
Hi, I have downloaded demo version of ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus 7.0.0. This tool is installed on Win XP and my browser is IE 7. I tried to create a Change request, but blank screen is displayed and there is a message in status bar: "handle Response called http://acer:8080/framework/html/blank.html". However, http://acer:8080/Changes.cc should be called. I am using administrator login, but this issue is not related to user. The same issue is occurring for all users with privileges for Changes.
Software deleted from workstation in Service Desk
Hi, On our network we found a computer with software installed that was against our policy. We asked the user to uninstall it. When we did a rescan of the computer, the entire software list for that workstation was deleted from Service Desk. We scanned the workstation several times, and it still says the workstation has no software on it. Does anyone know what's going on? Thanks.
Technician ID's
We have had a turnover of several technicians in the system. We will delete the old one and add the new one. I just noticed after adding the latest technician that he now has closed requests assigned to him even before he was employed by our company. My question to you is what piece of information are you storing in a request's main record to tie it back to the technician record. What ever it is, it appears that you are reusing this id for new technicians as they are created. This is bad for us.
DB Rebuild/Reindex
I am getting ready to upgrade from Build 5507 to v6. I intend on doing a complete backup prior to the upgrade but wanted to know if there is any way or need to reindex the DB before the upgrade. This has come up because I have noticed when people reply to a ServiceDesk generated email, the replies are not being merged into the original issue even though the original issues's ID is in the subject line of the response. I am not sure how long this has been going on but am concerned about compounding
Adding and Modifying new Categories
I have been modifying and adding in new categories within the Help Desk. By doing so, all the existing calls, open and closed, have all changed to the same cat category. Can anyone please help on this matter? Cheers

Language problems
Hi, I've downloaded and installed ServiceDeskPlus FreeVersion, in order to test it. I can't choose my language, since i see no "Change Language" tab in the "Personalize" pop up window. Is this correct? i mean, if you want to localize your installation you need the trial version? Thanks in advance.
Memory on Manual Addition of Workstation
We have tried creating manual Workstations for our Macs but find that when you enter 2048Mb in the RAM section of the form, when you then go to review the workstation is says 2Mb. It seems to work ok for the automatically scanned workstations as these show up as the correct amount. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Also, if it will be fixed in a future Service Pack I assume I should leave them for now as 2048Mb instead of changing it to 204800 to get it to work correctly. Thanks

I had previously scanned my network to inventory all the software running on all workstations in my domain. Now when i run a network scan, I see 252 failed workstations and 1 successful. Can you tell me why this is happening? Thank you.
Mysql Reports
Support, I am trying to create a few individual monthly reports for my line manager. The reports I am trying to create are the following: 1. Monthly call volume 2. Top 10 requesters by monthly call volume 3. Monthly call status volume eg. onhold, closed... 4. Category monthly call volume 5. How many calls completed/closed by technician 6. List of requests open for more than 2 days I would like to create a chart in Excel from the results, but I am a novice with Mysql queries. Could you please advise

We have recently moved our SDP program to a new server, the program is back up and running fine however when users and techs recieve email notifications the link is pointing to the previous server name
disable editing solution by requesters
Hello, we are using the sdp 6 trial and i'm now trying to figure out a way to disable the possibility of users editing the solutions posted with thier request trough the service portal. when i as a admin post a solution to a request, the requester can edit the solution, now i obviously dont want that, is there any setting im missing or ? thanks Len
FAILURE :Unable to execute report
We are presently testing ServiceDesk Plus and we are running into this error message FAILURE :Unable to execute report when attempting to launch any default reports. One of our key interest in this product is the ability to run reports and have charts automatically generated. However, we cannot get them to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Kim
Network Scan
I am have trouble using the Network Scan. It recognizes about 60 of my computers, half of those it shows all the details about the desktop, but does not show them in my domain? I have made a Group Policy to open up Port 7 to allow the scan to work properly but it hasn't changed anything. Is there anything I am doing wrong? Also is there a quicker way to change all those into my domain or do I have to go and edit each one individually?
Couple Issues with SDP 6.0
Hello all, I really like the improvements that verions 6 brings, I have been waiting for some of them for a long long time. I did the upgrade last night and there is only one minor issues that I'm working with right now. The Alert(or Notify) Technician by Email when there is a new reply from the requester notification rule is no longer showing the replyed message when it sends it to the technicians email, you have to go into ServiceDesk in order to see the requesters reply. E-mail open Request
Hi, The request 123. is being closed. By mistake an e-mail was sent to 123. but it should been sent to 132. request, and now the 123. request is open again. How can i remove the e-mail from 123. request?

Issues with Templates
Has anyone yet started creating/editing new templates on Version 6? I have just created a new template which went OK.
