Hi I monitor the event logs on all my server with event log monitor and notification profile. It works on all of them but the logon logoff doesn't work on my 3 DC.It works for the other but not them. Do you have an answer??? Thanks
E-mail notification
Is there any way to have the email notifications repeat on a timed basis until an alert is either cleared or acknowledged? This would be useful for afterhours support for an unmanned datacenter. A single alert to an email account or sms messages can be overlooked, but not if it happens say every 5 minutes.
Firewall disappear
Sir, I have monitor 2 firewall. After repair the database. The firewall page didn't show the information. But the no. of count still show 2. How to fix it? Sam.
Monitoring Scheduled Tasks?
Was just thinking tonight that we have a few scheduled tasks which run, and usually we find out they didnt when we have 500+ users complaining. Just wondering if/how it is possible to monitor scheduled tasks for success using OpManager I am guessing it writes something to the event log when the job completes or fails and you could check for this event? I have never really looked into it.
Netflow startup error
Hello, I installed evaluation version on Windows Xp SP1 and Windows 2000 Server SP4. Both of the installation was successfull, but when i tried to start the service it gives an error message like "Unclean shotdown of previous run. Failed to start the server." So i could never started to use it. Can any one please help me about it? Thank you.
email notification
I can get notification to work if I use a local MTA, but cannot get it to work with my ISPs mail server, it just says notification failed. any ideas? Leec

"add notes" option is unavailable when technician has replied to my ticket. The current ticket status is "open". how do I enable this feature. Please help!!1
ServiceDesk stops
I have had an installation running for a couple of weeks now, but recently it has stopped without any apparant reason, I cannot see any logs which could identify this clearly, I am running on Linux Suse9. How do I isolate this issue? LeeC
remote polling
hello, I want to know if opmanager has the capability to do remote polling. What I mean by this is the capability to have an agent at a remote site that can monitor status for basically being able to determine if a vpn for site to site connectivity is up or down and be able to report to a central opmanager. Specifying a Company instead of Department
Hi, Currently ServiceDesk has a "department" field for requesters - so in some respects ServiceDesk assumes you are a single large company. I'm an IT services company, so I have no departments, but my requesters are external clients who belong to different external companies. I want to specify the company that the requester belongs to in the setup of the requester and when I associate workstations (which are in company domains that I access via VPNs). Creating requesters
I create requesters according to the manual, but Im not able to login using these requesters. I get "Invalid username and/or password. " The only user I am able to login is admin/admin. Do I need to do something on the server? thanks, Volnei

Domain Scan
Hi, I've been able to conduct a domain scan to test the capability, 3 workstations appeared, 8 workstations were recorded in the error log as "no response received" probably because they are turned off for the weekend. If I start a a new scan of the domain when everyone is back in the office, will ServiceDesk add only the new workstations or wil be create duplicate entries? Thanks, G.

Monitoring firewalls
Does anyone have experience monitoring Symantec Velociraptors? These do not support SNMP gets but do send traps. I have several sites I would like to monitor but my two NOCs have raptors. I suppose I could monitor the routers, but my private addresses are all NATed or VPNed so I wouldn't get much useful info. Thanks, Cooper
Windows Service Monitoring
I have a question on the Windows Service Monitoring... I did a brief install of OpManager Last night, then reinstalled Windows. I can not remember 100% what the options were under the Windows Service options were for adding a service. I thought the options were for a service name and then port number? Traffic Time!
Hi, I am testing the trial version. I can see only maximum of top 10 results. Is it restrictions in trial version? How much results can be seen in original version? I can see only minimum of one-hour traffic, if I want to see last 10 min or 5 min traffic, then if I select manually from the calendar, then I can it. I am more interested in the inventory part of this system. When my network is inventoried I would start using the help desk. I would like to know what is the best way to add my workstations to my inventory with details. I have scanned my network and I can see only the computers' IPs. Rx and Tx utilization
Hi, 1.If I am going to monitor a server with SNMP enabled and want to see the Rx and Tx utilization. I have them enable by the resource monitors but i have waited for 2 days now and I'm tstill see nothing. What can be the problem?? 2. I have a symantec 320 series firewall but when I look in the device type I see no symantec devices. I that a problem if I let the device type unknown and what is the difference of a indentified device type and a unknown device type for my firewall or any other device??

Hi I've got a few questions about Opmanager 5.5 1. I can enable SNMP on a server but if I do the same operations with the desktops, Opmanger don't regonize them as SNMP enabled devices. Does Opmanager don't support SNMP on desktops or does something goes wrong? 2. If I make a profile for notifications and I add it to a printer for example then it dissepears after a while if I look at the printer. If I then look at the notification profile section my profile is also gone and I must make a new one.
availability report of a business view

IBM xServers 220 and 225
We have multiple IBM xServers 220 and 225 that are not displaying CPU, MEM, Disk Utilization most of these are running Windows 2003 and 2000. On the same type machines that are running 2000 terminal server all utilization seems to be working. Any ideas.

How does he system decide what order to display the items in an Infrastructure View. Currently it appears to be the way they were discovered or entered in the database. I would like to hav the option of doing it by Display Name.
Dashboard view is still slow after upgrade
My previous posts mentioned that the Dashboard View was very slow on our system. We have now installed Netflow Analyzer on a dual 3Ghz Pentium machine with 3gb of RAM. The dashboard view is still sluggish. Sometimes taking 15-20 seconds to appear. This may not seem like much but its annoying when you want to check the reports on multiple devices and becomes time consuming waiting for it to appear each time you go back to it. I strongly beleive you have a problem in the way the dashboard view operates.

Evaluating Netflow analyzer
I am evaluating the Netflow analyzer product. We have a 3745 router with ATM IMA. I have enabled ip route-cache flow on the fast ethernet interface. For the IMA interface, should I enable route-cache. The option I have under Atm0/ima0.111 has only "same interface" . THere is no flow option. On the ATm0.ima0.111 interface, I only see out traffic. No in traffic is captured. Any ideas... Kumar

My application is SSO protected by SiteMinder & so have a generic Login page. I was trying to setup Application Manager to monitor this application but it doesn't seem to faciliate even entering the SSO Login ID & Password correctly... Is the Application Manager not certified to be used for SSO protected applications?
