First, I noticed our FreeBSD Servers are being detected as 'Linux' servers. Then I tried to manually change the device type to FreeBSD, but there isn't one. There isn't even a *BSD or just plain old 'BSD'. I chose UNIX, since it's the next closest description of the device, and the web image of the server is just a plain desktop. I looked in the C:\Program Files\AdventNet\ME\OpManager\webclient\devices\images directory, and found a unix.jpeg image that, while it's a desktop, would suit the purposes.
Formulas in graphs
I am trying to get a formula to work in a graph. Here is my graphinfo.xml file. It is not working even after re-adding it to the monitor. However, the headings did change (from oC to oF as I had it to begin with) so I know it is seeing the change ok, it just wont do the formula. Licensing for Virtual Interface
I apologize in advance if this has been posted before I am evaluating NetFlow Analyzer and so far have been impressed. I would like to know how licensing works when using virutal interfaces. I have a Cisco 7200 router with over 400 ATM sub-interfaces. How many licensed interfaces are required in this scenario? Additionally, would this same licensing scenario apply to VLAN interfaces on a Cisco 65xx? Thank You
Received TRAPs are shown in ALARM list not TRAP?
Hi, I hope you can give me an advice or solution for my problem. I am receiving traps from one node but in OpManager I can't get them as TRAP I just received them as ALARM. It is a bit confusing to me. I made a trace and I was able to see that TRAP messages are sent to port 162. If you need more details I can provide them to you. Thank you in advance! Best Regards, Ivo

TimeSchedule for Monitoring / Alerts
I'm testing your Application for changing from my Whatsup Gold / ServersAlive. There comes up a question about a feature. I would like to monitor an URL/Server. Normal URL Monitoring would be 1 Min and alerting after the second down to a specific (Pager)EMail Address. But between 22:00 and 5:00 The alerting should go off only after 5 down and even then sending an email to another E-Mailaddress (nopager). As a nice to have - if an Alert is going off 4:50 (sending a Mail to nopager) and is still running

Hi, i have added a custom monitor for a NetEnforcer Hardware. Negative values on a graph?
Hi, I'm using a custom monitor to graph a value that can drop below zero. The value returned is in tenths-of-units, so I put "/10" on the end of OID I'm querying. Whilst this value is positive, I get the desired result of OIDValue/10. When the value goes negative, I get (32768 + (OIDValue/10)) instead. For example, if the polled value is -50, I get 32763 shown in the table and the graph. I don't know how these values are stored within OpManager, but it looks like it might be some kind of signed/unsigned

nohup command doesnt work for me
The nohup command doesn't seem to work for me. When I use that I can not access through the web, even though by looking at the processes everything seems to be running. Currently I just logged into the GUI and left terminal console open. Any ideas on what can be done? Anyone else experienced this? Mind you I am not the most knowledgable of linux users.
OpManager Web Client
I have installed OpManager on a server on our network and set up apache to do rewrite rules to the server so I can access the site remotely which works great. The problem am having is with the security of the OpManager Apache, the Apache document root is the home directory of OpManager(C:\Program Files\AdventNet\ME\OpManager) This is pretty bad as I can then do http://localhost/conf and then see the config of the machine and also likes of http://localhost/apache. I have tried to change the httpd.conf

Web Console won't start after apparently succesful install
I've succesfully installed AppManager6 on Fedora Core 3, as a non-priveleged user (no errors, or anything untoward in any logs) However, running ./startWebConsole.sh results in the output of the line 'webserverport=9090' and then dumps me back to the console prompt. At this point nothing appears to have started (nothing listening on port 9090, no new processes, nada) Any ideas?
Why I�m not able to monitor Apache
Hi : I want to use the Applications Manager to monitor the apache 1.3.26. But when I add the new monitor to the apache server(port 80). The applications manager always says that the service is not running. The apache is working fine. Also I can access http://apachehost:80/ through my browser fine. Can anyone tell me what the problem is ?

Why can a requester see more equipment than assoicated to
Hi Just purchased Servicedesk and its great. I have imported my users from AD and assoicated equipment to their details. However when a user created a new request they can still drill down the rest of the inventory. Ideally i would only want them to see their own equipement or shared equipment such as network printers and photocopiers etc. Is this possible ?? Thanks

Monitoring a new MSSQL database
I have added a Group called MSSQL to monitor the SQL databases we use. When I go to Add Monitor with the information to access the database, my Internet Explorer window will eventually time out and go to a blank page. Could this be because of the size of the particular database I am trying to monitor? Currently, the database I want to monitor is roughly 25gb in size. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Innaccurate application graphs
I am trying the evaluation version of the product and I have noticed that the application graphs are very erratic. For example, if I look at Utilization on the "Last Day Report" and compare it to the Traffic graph, the application graph is more than 50% lower than traffic. However, if I switch to the "Last Hour Report", then the utilization goes back to around where it should be. (except it is has a 10 minute resolution instead of 1 minute). In addition, the "Last hour Report" is often truncated,

I have been trying the evaluation version of the software and I would like to know if it is possible to see greater resolution on the application graphs. It appears that 10 minutes is the highest detail level that you can see. Thanks,

Hi! I just downloaded and try to install ServiceDesk on a plain vanilla SLES9 installation. I followed the graphical installer, everything was sweet. When I try to start it using run.sh it fails with this message: Server is starting. This may take a couple of minutes ... Free edition... i've developed a system where only registered user can access it. I use session to control the user login process and also for system security which means any unregistered user can't log on the system and the system should cannot bypass the next url without login first. I've run this system on windows and it's working.But when i run on OES(open enterprise server), a warning error come out on every page after login.The system also can accessed without login.
